I was thinking ...
I hope you're looking forward to a FUN weekend ... or relaxing or project-oriented or do-nothing or pampering or catching-up-on-little-stuff or whatever you want this weekend to be.
I just signed a few books (for a fundraiser) and am getting ready to ship them off to the winners. And I was thinking ... you know, I have a couple extra books here. Why not give a couple more away?

So add your comments below, stating the following:
1. first name only
2. the state or country where you live
3. one idea of what you think would be just so cool to see on my web site
That last part is for fun. My web site will soon be much more than just a landing page, so of course I'd love to hear your ideas. If something really strikes me as interesting or fun or "man, I've got to do that!", then you just may be receiving a book in the mail soon.
Deadline? End of day on Tuesday - the day after Memorial Day.

I think it'd be really cool to see more layouts you've done with your sketch, (it can be a past one, I love them all!) or some project you're doing that's not a scrapbook page, but uses scrapbooking products, or even tips on how you organize.

I have your book written with Lisa Bearnson "Our Family Scrapbooks" and I think there are some wonderful "lists" that you have in your About Me section. I tend to have a lot of similar ideas and would love to see what you think is important to remember about a child's first year.

I would love to have a weekly challenge. It could be a making a certain kind of card, following a sketch to create a layout, a layout with a certain theme, a mini-album, a journaling starter or an organization project. A week after the challenge is given, you could post your results. And maybe a place for challenge takers to post their results as well?
Love your blog - looking forward to the rest of the website!

3. I think it'd be a great idea if you could have a weekly or bi-weekly tip and occasional picture of your "organizing system" (i.e. house, organizer, scrapbooking, family history albums, everyday life, etc.) I seem to remember your having mentioned in a CK article that you've been organized since you were a kid and having this on your blog would really help those of us, who are challenged, organizational-wise! Thanks for having this blog. :)

3. I really loved how we could see album ideas in "Our Family Scrapbooks" with Lisa B. If you could continue with that idea and show what types of pages you might include for different types of albums, I think it would be a great springboard when I want to start a new album but don't know how to organize. You could show pics of your own albums at times, but just lists would be helpful too. You could then share readers' interpretations of your tips in your blog.

3. You should either create a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly (due to your busy schedule) personal challenge for yourself. It could relate to a technique you haven't pursued yet but always been wanting to, maybe utilizing different media or tools you haven't explored yet, etc... 3) I've read many times in your work that you like organizing. I'm somewhat challenged in this area chasing two kids around and still finding time to scrap AND keep a home, so would love to see some more of your "practical wisdom" that help keep you on track, i.e. loved your tip on your simple "life announcements" book, that you don't have to "scrap" everything.

3. It would be great to have something interactive to get people to keep coming back again and again. It would be fun to see you respond to a challenge. You could do this through video or photographs. Then you could pass the challenge onto your readers. This could be done in any order, for example, posting the challenge first, then have readers post their results, then the following week you show the video or photos of how you answered the challenge. You could expand the challenges from simply scrapbooking to organization or other areas that your "fans" are interested in.
Another idea is showing how you find new trends in the industry. Where do you look - office supply stores, magazines, etc. You could feature things that you have brought into the SB industry from other places. Then you could show how you use it in the SB/cardmaking industry.
I'm always looking for new and unique tips to integrate into my scrapbooking. And I love a good challenge.

How about a "Places and Faces" feature, weekly, or whenever you encounter an interesting place and/ or face (person)?
This would give us insight into your goings-ons, and make for some interesting photos and "journaling."

3. Would love to hear how to scrapbook your family - I mean do you have "family" scrapbooks in chronological order? Do you have individual scrapbooks for each child? Do you do (or will you do) separate "school only" albums? And, how many scrapbook page layouts do you have per year/per child? Sometimes I think I try to capture every event in each child's life...and well, I'll need to buy a new house just to store everything by the time they reach teenage years!

Back when I was updating my blog daily, I had a "Counting my Blessings" post once a week. There I would list 4-5 things/people/whatever that had been a blessing to me over the past seven days. Sometimes it was a specific person, sometimes it was something as simple as a kitchen appliance making my life easier! It really helped me to remember to be grateful and content in the midst of my daily routine. Why not try something like that on your blog section?

Since photos are at the core of scrapbooking, I would love a look at how you store and organize your digital images, organize printed photos before you're ready to scrapbook them, what you do with any photos you didn't use on layouts (or if you only print what you know you will use), and ultimately where do the photos on your layouts end up. Which ones go into Porter and Claire's individual scrapbooks, which ones go into family albums, and do you ever duplicate layouts to include them in more than one scrapbook?

I think that the idea for sketchs
is a good one. I know that the new sketches you do are probably for magazines and new books, but you could post one of your old sketches (even from your first book) and give us maybe a week or
two to submit a layout and choose
a winner. I think that it would be
fun to use old sketches to see what
updated layouts we come up with.
Also, love the recipe. You could
always get readers to share some of theirs, if you ever run out of recipes to share.
