chex muddy buddies

It feels like it's been a while since I've shared a recipe and since I just made these recently, I thought I'd add this in here. Not sure where I got this recipe, but I do not take credit for it (I wish I had the gift of creativity in the kitchen! Actually, I am totally content following someone else's recipe.)

Warning: These are finger-licking good so don't try to eat while you're scrapbooking. Always, always wash your hands before handling your pictures.

Chex Muddy Buddies

1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 c. semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 c. butter*
9 c. Chex cereal (any variety)

Measure cereal into large bowl; set aside. Microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter in 1-quart microwavable bowl, uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour chocolate mixture over cereal in bowl, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into large plastic food-storage bag; add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

*Do not use spread or tub products.

And ... more answers to more of your questions:

[ online articles ]

Melissa asked about my interview-based article on the Creating Keepsakes website and if there are additional articles posted online that are not in the magazine. YES, that's correct. You can always find bonus features and fabulous online articles on CK's website. There are always video clips to watch, too, and the web hostess (what a fun title), Erin Lincoln, is awesome! If you haven't checked out CK's website lately, take a look.

[ album type ]

Adrienne wants to know why I prefer 3-ring albums over post albums. The truth is, I love both and I use both. Most of my theme albums (and the majority of these are smaller, like 6" x 6" or 8" x 8") are post albums. Theme albums are pretty "concrete" and once they're done, they're done. My chronological albums, however, are on-going and family-journal-style. These volumes contain layouts that are event-related and theme-related. Because my hobby & my work are overlapping, I often have layouts going in & out of my albums so I need to quickly and easily be able to do this ... another reason I prefer the 3-ring.

[ camera lens ]

Kelli wondered which camera lens I use on my digital SLR (I'm using a Canon 10D). I love the Canon 28-200mm lens for everyday use, and the Canon 75-300mm with image stabilizer for my big zoom needs.

I hope you're looking forward to a fantastic weekend!

Muddy Buddies (aka Puppy Chow) are our favorite snack! We like to make them for when we go camping, or on road trips. Sometimes if my husband wants to read on a Sunday afternoon he'll ask me to make some. Warning: they are terribly addicting!!! I think they have the recipe on the side of the box too (or online).

That recipe sounds yummy.

I have another question to add. Could you tell us or better yet show more of your CKU Album album? I'd love to know a little bit more about what you included in it.

I know this is an odd request, but since you're so organized I thought maybe you could help me out. Do you follow a "routine" each day? If you do, would you mind sharing a "rough draft" of it? I am looking for a way to organize my days so I have time to do most things each day.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Becky, after taking Stacy Julian's BPS class, I have fallen in love with 3-ring albums, and can never find them. Would you please use your "famous-ness" and urge the SB companies to make more 3-ring albums? Can you do that?! lol

Becky,
I saw that Phoenix Convention classes are up. What classes are you teaching? I see sketches, and a backstage party...anything else?

It sounds like quite a few people like the 3-ring binder albums. Do you find that there is a large space between the two pages of your two-page layouts?

Thanks!
