happy 4th of july

I am so thankful for the freedoms I enjoy because of the men and women who serve our country. The devotion and dedication and faith of these fine people, is incredibly admirable and sometimes overwhelming to think about. So to those of you in that role, and to those of you who have spouses or family members nobly serving America - thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am humbled by the very thought of you.

In honor of this holiday, we're putting together a package to send to a friend in Iraq this week. Our kids are really little but this is so important for them to understand and be involved in.

Also in honor of the Fourth of July, I finished a layout from TWO years ago (yep - I'm behind just like you). : )

It feels SO good to get some "older" pages done. I think this is such a "typical Becky layout" ... simple and quick. Didn't take much time, but I felt creative putting it together ... the perfect balance for me. Sometimes I like to spend more time being creative. Sometimes I go ultra-simple and it's all about cardstock, pictures, and journaling. But most of my layouts are much like this one. Creativity in small doses. More pages done. I like that.

Great layout, Becky. I love your style. I like clean lines and simplicity, but am trying to be more creative sometimes, too. Glad to know that a pro is behind just like the rest of us! :)

Have a GREAT Independence Day!

Love the simplicity and style of this layout. Did you order the small square photos that size and with a white border or did you cut and mat each of them?

Thanks!

Becky, love the simplicity--great layout. It is nice to know that some of you pros scrap a lot of simpler pages, but sometimes spend a lot of time on some layouts. That is the way I scrap, I have always wondered where some of you guys had the time to scrap these awesome pages, work, have families, etc. Also, you make me feel better about being way behind. I am curious do you
have several albums going, and do
you jump from a more current to an older one and back. I am asking because I am trying to get some organization, where that is concerned. Not sure how to incorporate that when I am a chronilogical scrapper? Hope you and your family have a great 4th of July. Cathy

Love the layout!! And thanks for your comments for/to the military folks...my DH is overseas serving now, and while it's hard, I know its right! Thanks for all the "simpl" inspiration! I couldn't get any scrapping done if I didn't do simple!

Love the simple layout. Do you use any "machine" to cut titles(sizzix, cricut, wishblade etc)?

Becky,

I'm really enjoying your blog, too. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, tips, and pics.

A question, though. Whenever I can see the dates on layouts in scrapbooking magazines, the photos always seem to be very current. For that reason alone, I was surprised to see you say that you're "behind." Do the magazines only accept "current" photo layouts? If not, do you ever turn in "older" stuff?
