alive & well
Not missing. Not mad. Not sick or protesting or anything really unusual. Just on vacation. And now ... I'm back. Had a really great time with my entire family and a few friends too. Soooo happy happy to be home. No better place to be.
I'll catch up as soon as my laundry is underway, I've read some books to my kids, and my e-mail is no longer ignored. Until then, tell me ... what is ONE goal that you have for this week? Little ... big ... doesn't matter.
Me? I plan to write in my journal, as well as each of my kids' journals.

Welcome back.
We moved into a new house 2 1/2 months ago and my craft room/office is still not unpacked and organized. So my goal is to get it into shape and the sit down and...pay the bills!
If I can get that done they I may actually be able to scrap!
My #1 goal this week is to get my car's windshield replaced! We got a mega-sized rock chip in Idaho on our way to Yellowstone. It's cracked in 3 different directions and is driving me crazy. (No pun intended) ;) Oh, what an exciting life I'm leading!
So glad to have you back!
Goal for this week: organize kids' clothes to be ready for school - wash new things, put away things too small. In other words, spring cleaning in the summer! ~Tanya
My goal this week is to finish cleaning out closets and do a big drop at Goodwill.
Pack for our move on the 15th! Have a lot to do and my goal is to stay motivated and PACK!
goal for the week-- get caught up on some photo editing. had a super productive weekend + actually did some scrapbooking, so here's hoping it carries through.
question, if i may: i thought i had seen an album/kit designed by you for school years. tried lisa's site/KOM, but not seeing it. did i imagine it? am thinking about re-working my kid albums-- and as one just started school last year, and one starts this year-- i was reminded of the kit...
thanks! :)
Welcome back! Pack for our move to a new city in 3 days... yes 3 days. Also.. I'm glad you reminded me about my children's journals. My goal is to write in each of theirs (3 kids; 2 teens and a soon to be kindergarten student) Have a good week!
finish all the laundry in the house to move it to the new house. Sounds easy but there is just way to much of it.
Organize my children's clothing in preperation for the fall months...and scrapbook until my fingers bleed.
I plan to make a birthday card for a friend :)
Hi Becky! Welcome back...I missed you!! What is this great idea about children's journals? I never heard of that before...sounds great!!
My goal for this week is to continue to clean out the attic and drop stuff off at the Salvation Army. I have made three drops already - I am hoping to continue this week!! I LOVE cleaning stuff out!!!
I'm working on a small scrapbook project for a class I'm taking with Shimelle ... my goal this week is to take the rest of the pictures I need and get them printed.
Glad you a great vacation!
My goal is to go to the gym 3-4 times this week. I went once all ready, so I'm on my way! I'm just trying to be more healthy :)
Welcome back, glad to see you had a wonderful vacation.
My goal is to finish my friend's abc album that I'm doing for her brand new baby boy.
Welcome back Becky!
My goal is to get AT LEAST 12 pages planned for my scrap retreat this weekend! :-)
Eventually I'll need to pack for my kid-free weekend away with friends.
First, though, I need to get the next 10K words written on my story (wannabe writer here).
My maybe-goal is to actually pick out paper and embellishments for the heritage layout I've been avoiding for the last week.
welcome back! glad you had a good vacation!
my one goal this week is to go swimming with my daugher at the pool or lake at least one time this week (weather better clear up soon).

My goal this week is to get my photos on CD. And also would like to get some scrapping done.
Exercise! Exercise! Exercise! (trying to keep myself motivated)
My goal is to get all my back to school shopping done for my daughter. She starts kindergarten on the 20th. She also starts ballet on the 2lst and soccer in September. So, I need to buy all the things for those activities this week.
Welcome back!!!
My goal is to get unpacked and organized. Just got back from CKC in Charlotte. It was my first CKC! It was a BLAST!!!!!!!! But, now it's time to put things away, although I'll have to ooooo and awe again at everything I bought and received. And, I need to finish my projects that were started there in the classes. Such a GREAT experience, can't wait to again!
Becky:
When is your best of sketches book coming out?
When is your Family History workbook coming out?
Love all of your books!!
Kathy
We recently returned from a vacation in Hawaii, which was a gift from my mom. My goal this week is to finish a "thank you" album I am doing for her with pictures from our trip.
My plan/goal is to thoroughly clean the basement!!!
I wanna try and start scraping some pages on my pregnancy so far for our new baby GIRL's album...
My goal is to finish a layout for a challenge I'm in.
Goal for the week -- a few of us on a yahoo messageboard have set a goal of getting 10 more pictures ready for your Snapshot of Me album track at CKU-Nashville. We're trying to have them all done in time! :)
1. I have a Work goal- to do a good cleaning of my house- including those boards along the bottom of the walls- because my MIL comes Friday!
2. Fun goal: I just picked up 358 photos I had printed from the last 6 months- so start scrapping some that inspire me.
I have been working on re-doing my
teenagers (2 of them) rooms this summer (painting, cleaning out everything, etc.). We have 2 weeks left before school starts. My goal is to finish my daughter's room this week (the fun little finishing decorative touches).
Hope you had fun on vacation, it
is always good to get home.
Cathy
Welcome home! Isn't sleeping in your own bed such a comfort?!
It seems laundry and sorting too small clothing before school it on my list as well. I also want to paint the baseboards in the downstairs bathroom so when hubby comes home from a business trip he can put up the new lights and I can paint.
Glad you're back! Journaling is such a good idea.
We have a nice large kitchen counter and it's been covered with stuff for too long! I cleared it off this morning and now my goal is to sort through the stuff that was on it and try to keep it clear in the future.
Goal #1 is to sort photos for a crop I am going to on Sunday. Need to have things ready to go so I can be really productive!
My goal? To get at least a couple of cover letters written so I can start sending out my resume! Big. Definitely big.
Glad you had a great vacation! One goal on my list: get DH's truck washed and waxed. He's coming home from a 5month deployment soon (within the week) and I want to be sure his truck looks great when he arrives!
(Also gotta clean the house, but ya know....that's nothing above and beyond normal duties!)

This week I am going to finish up my school year (year around teacher.) This weekend I will relax and enjoy my 9 day summer break.
I will also reorganize my scrapbook room and maybe even take a picture of my finished Snapshot of me Album.
My goal is to make some pesto tomorrow with the fresh basil from my herb garden. There is so much of it! I want to make enough for the fall/winter and then freeze it. We're bringing dinner to my neighbors who just had their second child tomorrow night. I'm planning on making some pesto chicken pasta. Yum yum.
My goals this week are to get through VBS (I'm in charge of crafts this year for the kids), get some school shopping started, and help hubby wash a few cars. We'll see how that turns out.
A simple goal this week: keep raising my 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 year olds. Make sure there's healthy food on the table every night (I hate cooking and being responsible for all the food stuff, even though I'm the one to do it). Make sure my son's Santa socks are clean. Make sure my daughter's Elmo shirt is clean. Play outside, even though it means I can't get the cooking or laundry done!
Welcome home!
My goal? Clean the surfaces in my classroom (since the custodians moved my stuff this summer into a new room), put my "stuff" away there, and, at the same time, share with my litle boy some of the phonics we've been practicing... "mamama" and "nenene" (He's nine months. ;-D)
Welcome home.
My goal is to write some letters to my daughter based on a magazine article in Real Simple Mag's special issue FAMILY. Some authors wrote letters as their children were small, for them to read when they're older. Topics were: The first time your heart is broken. When you're getting married. When I really let you down.
I really liked the letters and the concept in general. Another fun viewpoint to scrapbook too!
I will not stress out too much prepping for MY vacation this week. Hope you enjoyed yours and are well rested!
Hi Becky,
I have been checking your blog for a while and just love your style, ideas and thoughts. FYI, this is the first time I am commenting on this blog. I thought of getting in touch with you for a while, but I never came across your e-mail address, so I am doing it via your blog. While looking at your layouts, I saw and recognized your husband from the mission time in D.C. Please tell him hi from me. My maiden name is "von Allmen". I hope he'll remembers me. I was the only "swiss" sister in the V.C. And if I remember correctly, he was my DL for a while. Well, he is one lucky guy to have hooked up with you. Maybe this is a bit risky to put on the web, but here is my work e-mail: pia.williams@novartis.com in case you want to respond to this.
Keep those blogs postings coming. I love them.
Pia
Welcome back!
My goal for this week is to SURVIVE this stinking HEAT WAVE! LOL
After that, maybe try to get upstairs and organize my creative mess!
Hi Becky
My goal for this week is to have all 3 of my kids (ages 8, 6 and 4) update their personal Art Journals with a drawing, a hand print and their hand printed name and date.
I love looking back at how they have progressed and we can look back at the end of the school year and see how much they have changed and learned! So fun!!
Cindy
I plan to pack up the kids clothes that have outgrown since the beginning of summer.
I plan on organizing and culling the 686 photos I took on our European vacation. My scrapbook projects are definitely all lined up for this fall:)
Isabel - Vancouver, BC Canada
#1 Goal is to call some friends. I recently moved and left behind a whole group of amazing women. I miss them so much and plan on calling them to say HI. We do email each other but I would love to hear there lovely voices. I also need to move my scrapbooking organizational cubes to the middle of the room because they are going to paint my scrapbook room in the next few days. Its going to be light pink with black shelves and mirrors. I can't wait!!!!!!!!
This week I *will* gather decorations for my 16yo's 17th birthday party next week. She wanted a country western theme so we created "Wanted (The Pleasure of Your Company)" poster/invitations. I think I'll hand out red bandanas to everyone as they arrive... wonder what else I need....??? :) I tell you, planning fun birthday parties is just one of the BIG PERKS of being a parent!!! I truly do enjoy it!
My goal for the week is to get mykids room organized so that the transition going back to school will be easy! Loved the camera case, by the way. Have agreat week!
I plan on doing a few more layouts! That's all that's ever on my mind...scrapbooking! ;o)
Hi Becky! Have alwyas loved your books and CK columns. So happy to have found your blog! Quick question for you...can you create the canvases that contain multiple smaller pics in Photoshop Elements or do you have to have the full version? Elements is on sale this week and I want to pick it up if it will work for that function! Thanks in advance!
Christie
I still need to {{ unpack }} my scrapbook supplies and goodies from CKC-Charlotte from this past weekend. It was fun to pack my gear, but not to put it away.
- Sigh -
My goal this week is to keep my sanity, LOL! I have had my twin nephews all week and with all the storms we've had here in OH, they and my kiddos haven't been able to play outside much.
My next big project is to paint my dd's rooms since their walls are still contractor white.
Hugs,
Steph:)
