Woo hoo!

I am SO excited & SO pleased to let you know that the new "Best of Becky Higgins Sketches" books are NOW SHIPPING.

Some of you pre-ordered the book, some of you will be heading to your local scrapbook or craft store and some of you might need a little nudge with this one. Do you really need another book? Here's my shameless plug: It's one thing to have 200 sketches in one cute little book (that doesn't take up a lot of space on your table). But this is another thing ...

Do you know what that is? Two HUNDRED layouts. I did 200 brand-new layouts for this book, so you're getting oodles of inspiration for photo ideas, themes to write about, color schemes, design ideas, you name it. This is the most amount of layouts that I've ever done for any of my books. The sketches helped me pull those off even faster.

Okay, enough about that.

[ fantastic ]

Kudos to Heidi Swapp and the whole team that pulled off a great Creative Escape for 600 attendees. It was truly a pleasure to be there, and to come in contact with inspiring women who have so much to share. So privileged to soak in all that Allison Tyler Jones had to say in her keynote address, spend a little time catching up with my good friend Stacy Julian, and hang out with Margi Romney-Aslett (who constantly makes me laugh!).

Speaking of Marji ... happy birthday to HER today! Marji recently learned that it was "my thing" to always, always wear rubber gloves with kitchen chores. So she brought me a super adorable pair of new gloves that makes me feel like a diva while I'm scrubbing my dishes. Incidentally, I gave her a gift too, but she wasn't nearly excited about the pair of disposable gloves I gave her. I'm not sure why. I use these in the kitchen, too, for handling meat and onions and such.

Yes, I'm totally serious. You can buy them in bulk at Costco and I love Costco for that.

[ remembering ]

Just thinking about today and what it memorializes. My thoughts and prayers are with the families who lost loved ones six years ago today. I know some are still deeply affected by those tragic events every day of their life and it is my prayer that they can find peace and feel joy in their life.

Becky, can't wait to get your book! I am running out to Archiver's this week to pick it up. You truly are an inspiration, and I love reading your blog. I even figured out how to do my own blog...what a great way to keep everyone updated on your life, especially in this busy day and age. Good luck with the Sketches book...I'm sure it will be a great hit!

I CAN'T WAIT for your new book. I preordered it and have been checking my mail everyday to see if it's arrived. It's nice to know it'll be here soon!

I too buy my disposable gloves as Costco for handling meat, picking up dog waste in the yard, etc. I don't think many people realize how convenient they make life.

The rubber gloves isn't weird at all. I hate the feeling of gross things on my hands too!! I'm also super excited about your book. I have over 100 sketches in a journal that I did. I love to use some of your though when I'm in a pinch for getting a bunch of pages done at once. Thanks for the inspiration!!

So sad to say that I too buy the gloves in bulk from Sam's Club :o) I thought that I was the only one NOT using them for medical reasons. Anyways, I think they are great for chores around the house, giving my dog medication, etc... LOVE THEM.

By the way, I have the previous Sketches books and I can't wait to get the latest! I'm super impressed that you completed 200 layouts for it - IMPRESSIVE!

I to can't stand touching raw meat, so I wear disposable gloves too! Don't wear them to touch onions because I can't stand onions!

We love them and made them to wear to the CK Convention this Friday in Phoenix. We are driving up from Tucson . . . husbands arranged as sitters and we can't wait! I hope they are going to be selling your new book there . . . gotta have it to go with your previous two in my scrap area. We hope to run into you! Thanks for all the inspiration!

Hi Becky!

I was the one who talked to you at the store during CE. I had heard you were going to be at Creative Escape, but didn't know you'd be there as a student like us-- so it was wonderful that i happened to see you at the store, and am glad i was able to say 'hi'!
Also, great to hear about your new book. i have the other 2 sketches books, but would be nice to have them all in one place--and new layouts to boot!! wahooo!!! :)

thanks for the inspirations you give us!

Dear Becky,
I just wanted to give you a huge thanks for creating such incredible sketches and layouts in your new book. I purchased my copy today and have been completely absorbed with it for 3 hours! Mostly I want to THANK YOU for staying true to your scrapbooking style in the midst of so many trendy pages filling so many scrapbook magazines these days. It is so refreshing to see classic layouts with just enough product as to compliment the pictures and journaling rather than overpower it. I know that I am not alone in my frustration with so many great magazines getting so caught up with finding new scrapbookers who seem to be more about creating an art project and using way too many products than focusing on the photos and the story. You are like the "Eddie Bauer" of the scrapbooking world....classic; adding trendy touches that are not overpowering and out of fashion in 2 years, and timeless. So again, thank you for continually showing the ever-changing, ever-growing scrapbooking industry that classic pages are just as fashionable (if not more so) than pages oozing with too much product!

ps...I would LOVE to see your past Christmas card designs on your blog sometime. I'm getting ready to work on mine and would so enjoy seeing some Becky inspired cards.

Can't wait to get your book. I pre-ordered it and received an email that my card has been charged, but it hasn't shipped yet. I'm disappointed though. My LSS already has the book. I'm wondering why I pre-ordered it in June, if my LSS gets it before me. I'm upset just because I want my new Becky Higgins book. It's so cute and I just want my own. :):):)

Hi Becky!

I LOVE you new sketches book. I seriously spent 2 hours just going thru the new layouts and sketches.

Here's my question: I understand that it covers all of the sketches in Sketches 1 & 2 and all of the sketches in CK Magazine. But what is the last issue of CK Magazine that is covered? If the book goes thru the May 2007 issue of CK then I know to start saving them again from the June 2007 issue.

Thank you!
