engaged

Photographed Eric & Holly yesterday. Engaged couples are soooo easy to photograph. It's been so long since I've taken engagement pictures and honestly, I've forgotten how wonderful it is. They don't wiggle around, cry, whine, need me to make funny faces and ridiculous noises, they don't have parents sternly saying to them, "Look at the camera and smile RIGHT NOW." ... and they certainly don't need any bribing.

I've known Holly since she was 12, so to be taking these pictures of her with this sweet young man who adores her was just a treat. Also loved, loved, loved having my friend Tina here for the weekend. This cutie-patootie is Josh, her son ... and my kids' newest favorite fascination.

Great pictures Becky. Josh reminds me of Jamison. I'm jealous, I haven't seen Tina since...well, since she moved. I hope they are doing good. Cute pictures.

Ok, so what is the name of the Chatterbox paper that you used on your digital Xmas card from last year? I really like it, and can't figure out what paper it is. Thanks!

I love how you photograph. I also love to capture the moments not just in head-on shots. The picture of their hands, baby's tummy and FOOD! I too take pictures like that including food, to document and so I don't forget what I made! (my husband is also a chef, so food is our life :)
I have a question about Sketches, it may be in the category of "dumb questions" but oh well.. How do you print such nice pictures in odd sizes like 1x1 and 3x3 etc. They don't look like home printer quality but photo department only print in wallets. It's the key to many of your layouts and part of what I love about them.
thanks for the help and the inspiration!
Blessings

My parents are professional photographers and I love taking pics. myself. You are so good!!! What kind of camera do you use on your shoots??? By the way, I got your new sketches book this weekend and I can't put it down. The overall size of the book is perfect. Its not too bulky. I love all the layouts.

Hi Becky,
I also love how you print photos in small odd sizes for your layouts and I'm quite certain you are using something like PhotoShop to do this but could you give a step by step on how you do it because everytime I have tried, my photos are distorted - very long faces or short, squat images. Thanks!!

Do you do photography for-hire or do you just do it for friends as a gift? It seems you're always doing photo shoots of someone or their kids. You have such talent, I just started wondering if it's a side business? Also, on the subject of printing smaller pictures, do you send what you do in Adobe to Costco to print?
