create something

I'm looking forward to helping forty-some 12 to 18 year-old girls from church create an "All About Me" scrapbook this evening. And tomorrow my friend, Erin, and I are going to do a mini photo shoot of each girl. That should be fun. It's all part of a little retreat that Erin has organized. She's amazing. Each girl will win a very cool prize, we're having catered meals, going to a cake decorating class, making jewelry, even having a little inspirational concert. Doesn't that sound fun?

And then ... the weekend only gets better as my brother & sister-in-law and their 5 kids arrive tomorrow, to stay with us for a full week. Yay! We're so excited.

A parting picture for the weekend ...

Enjoy your weekend. Do something creative. Porter's particularly thrilled with his latest creation: "The spaceship".

PS - This may be your last chance to order my Christmas card kit. I just checked and we're down to the last handful. If you're thinking about it, don't delay. Click here to learn more.

This is so fun! I bet you will have the best time! I got a chance to help our young women with a scrapbook layout and it was so fun to work with them. I bet this little retreat will be even more fun. Have a great time with them. Share when you get back! :)

Becky - What a wonderful thing you are doing for these young women! Is this your church's youth group or is it another group of girls? Enjoy your brother's kids!! Sounds like fun!

Hi Becky! How fortunate those girls are! When things aren't so busy for you, I have a random question. Back in June you posted about how you print more than one image on a 4x6 etc., like 6 2x2s, 4 3x2s etc... How did you learn to create them? I use photoshop elements 5.0 and I am so stuck. Would love to hear how you know how to do it.
Thanks!
Sharla

Hi Becky

I'm very excited that you're going to share your organization sheet that helps keep track of future pages to scrapbook...that will be so helpful for me.

Also, thanks to your help, I no longer have 'album stress'! Seriously, I've never been able to find scrapbook albums I loved. I'm having three of the We R Memory 12 x 12 albums shipped to me, Kiwi - for our son, Lavendar - for our daughter & Nutmeg!

Have a wonderful weekend

Hi Becky,

I am so happy! I just stumbled across your blog tonight, but have been a fan of yours for many years!

Thanks so much for sharing your organization tips. I too am a chronological scrapper, but have fallen behind. So right now, all the help I can get to get reorganized and somewhat caught up helps!

Your family albums used to be all black and now they are red. Did you replace all of the black ones with red???

I have a random question, What do you do with 100+ year old photos that you have no idea who is in the picture? We are going through my late grandmother's things and have found hundreds of photos like these. I really can't bring myself to throw them out, but I'm not sure what to do with them. Thanks, Teresa

Thanks for the video blog entries... I really looked forward to getting to your blog first whenever I got the chance to hop on the computer... It really cracked me up whenever Porter was filming. He did a great job!

Oh yeah, thanks for the pretzel hug and nutella roll recipes! I've tried them both and I love them!

Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

First I have to say thank you for teaching me how to scrapbook. I have read every article that I could get my hands on to learn how to scrapbook clean. My question is that I have been scrapbooking for six years and I would love to get my albums to be the same type. I have strap, post and 3 ring binder albums. I would like to have them all in binders. What would you suggest that I do with the strap bound pages?

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Hi Becky, I wanted to cmment on Cotterman Chaos's question regarding the vintage photos. You have said it beofre, but PLEASE encourage your readers to ask their parents questions about photos, about their lives and memories, etc. My mother died suddenly a year ago, and I realized there were a lot of things I would have liked to know about....everything. My wonderful father started answering all of my questions about Mum whenever we were together. And then, three months later, HE died. Both of my parents were only sixty when they died. Please, please, please remind your readers to talk to their relatives about the past, you may lose the opportunity sooiner than you think.

Hi Becky
First off, I am a regular reader of your blog, Lisa Bearnson's blog and a subscriber to CK mag and Simple Scrapbooks as well as a regular at CKC Buffalo. They are great events, magazines and blogs. This is the first time I ordered a KOM from your website, but as of today, Dec 4, I am still waiting for my KOM (holiday card kit) that I ordered in Nov 3. I live in Ontario, Canada and spoke to someone at CK Media today and she agreed to ship it Fedex so I think I will finally receive it on Friday. I would love to order more KOM's in the future, but you might want to indicate on your website that if you ship to Canada, there is no guarantee of arrival time or offer your Canadian customers the option to have it shipped Fedex - I would have paid extra to get them sooner. I don't know if this note will even make the blog, so please feel free to email me at my google account.
