video day #9

video

Click here to see how I created our "hybrid" Christmas card last year. It was my first attempt combining my homemade creation with digitally adding photos & text. Instead of mass-producing the cards by hand, I mass-printed the final art, and it sped up the whole process SIGNIFICANTLY.

This is just an alternative idea to those of you interested in a cross between a completely digital card and a completely handmade card. Many of you have already done this sort of thing. If you want to share a link to your design(s), add that in your comments below. I'd love to see what you're doing!

Received my KOTM yesterday! I am so excited to get started. I liked the hybrid card you did last year(saw it online at CK).

You did a great job by yourself.

Becky,
Thank you!!! The album is exactly what I wanted to see. That is the same album I started last year because of you and now it is so fun to look back and see memories from each Christmas, how our family has grown, what was going on, etc on all one page. It was crazy doing all six years last January (to play catch up), but now I only have to do one layout for this year. Very manageable! I love this album! Thanks for being willing to share your personal things with all of us. You are really an inspiration. I really appreciate it!
Love, Kirsten

Hi Becky

I received my cards on Wednesday and even with everything else - 3 kids to 2 schools, hip hop, tumbling, piano lessons, scrap/album class, and just daily life - MY CARDS ARE ALL PUT TOGETHER! It feels so good to have that project crossed off my holiday to-do list! I absolutely love the cards and can't wait to hear what the recipients of my cards think of them. One of my favs about the cards are the little strips to hold a picture/letter! I have already started my version of your hybrid card and I am going to include that in our cards! I'm even doing the 8x3 size and because of you I discovered Costco photo processing. I love it!! Thank you dhoswald@msn.com

Becky, Your hybrid card from last year is just the ticket I was looking for this year! What a great idea to combine the 2 elements and print in mass!

Your album is fantastic and i'm so glad to know that i'm not the only one a bit behind in a book :)

Question for you... Do you keep another album with pics from Christmas day (the tree, opening gifts, etc.) and other holiday activities or do those go in your chrono albums?

I couldn't get the video to work today. All the other days have worked for me but this one says 0min of 0min. I can see some people have been able to see it. Maybe it's just my computer.

Becky, Thanks for more great ideas! I think I may "steal" your last 2 Christmas card ideas and combine them to make mine this year. I've posted some of my past Christmas cards on my blog www.enjoycreations.blogspot.com if your interested in taking a peak.

Becky,
Thanks for sharing your Christmas album. I wish I had saved a Christmas card from our previous years as a family.
But, you have shown me a great idea; I will just have to start it this year. :-)

I went and bought a WE R Memory Keepers album today that you told us about earlier and LOVE it.

Thanks for the tip,
Tina

Becky ~ Thanks so much for all you do! My 3 kits arrived today and are all together! I spent the afternoon with my two girls, Victoria, 17yrs old and Jacqueline, 15 years old, putting them together. We had such a great time and I just love all the cards!
You have always inspired me since I met you. My sister and I took the CK Cruise a few years back. You were so sweet to stop and take our picture from the balony as we were scrapping together! Great Memories!! You are the best!
Enjoy your holidays with your family.

Hi Becky,

The video series is a great idea. I enjoy them every night after I put my babies to bed. I would like to know how do you label your albums. I am new to scrapbook and when I saw your post on the new albums I fall in love with them. I bought the baby blue for my first son and the Kiwi for my second son and the red for the family album, but I don't know what to write on the label. Help please! Thanks, Yanina

Becky--

If you have the time-- it's VERY worth your while to take a gander at my friend Becky's blog (www.enjoycreations.blogspot.com) like she mentioned in a posted comment here...

She's very humble, so I'll brag her up! You need to see what this mom of FIVE does! She's so creative, innovative, and simply incredible. Definitely worth your time to look!

Hi Becky, this is the second time I'll try and leave a comment, so if you get it twice that's why.

I loved your Christmas album and it has give me ideas on how I can catch up with my own Christmas photos. I like the simplicity of keeping a consistent design for each page, takes the stress and guess work out of it.

I have done my own Christmas cards for awhile and tend to do calligraphy rather than scrapping. This year I've done a hybrid where I've scanned in my calligraphy and created a brush in Photoshop out of it. I've then played with colours and background and printed it on a really cool paper that feels like it's laminated. I hope you enjoy it. http://purpleberrydesign.blogspot.com/2007/10/sold.html

Thanks for the videos.

Ok, so here's my question. You have one album that you keep all the past years pictures from, and one year that you keep your yearly photo and memories in... so the question is, do you keep all the newsletters and updates that are also sent to you by family and friends? I am trying to figure out what to do with all of these... just throw them out??? Thanks!
