resolutions

Remember my floating ornaments (Dec. 7 post)? Christmas is over, the decorations have come down, but look what's up now. These will stay up until I can find something to hang for Valentines Day. : )

Got the (super glittery ... and I didn't even wear disposable gloves to hang them!) snowflakes among the Christmas stuff that was on clearance at Target after Christmas. Total cost for 8: $2.00.

Before I get to the topic of resolutions, I know you want to know who won the DVDs (my last post). Holy cow - choosing 5 winners from over 500 comments? You guys are FUN! So - congratulations to these winners. E-mail me at bhiggins@ckmedia.com and give me your mailing address. I'll ship a copy of my DVD to you.

I'm a goal-setting girl, so I love this time of year to reflect on each area of my life and what I want to work on in each area. And of course I'm 100% successful with every resolution and I never falter with ANY of my goals. Except I missed 4 days of exercising this entire year (wink). But seriously (you know I'm kidding, right?) - I do love thinking about this stuff.

So what would you think about creating a layout a day in the month of January? Lain Ehmann (with Simple Scrapbooks magazine) is ready to help you with the challenge and you can read about it here. I'm thinking it would feel SO good getting 31 layouts done this month! Seriously. That would be SO great. I don't have high expectations of really getting 31 done but I'm sure as heck going to try.

Thanks for the DVD Becky! That's awesome.

My goal for this year is to get caught up. I'm about 2 years behind on my scrapping and I need to get back in gear. My main problem is making too many gifts! I never have time for my stuff because I'm always making something for someone else! It's time to free the pictures from the computer.

Hi Becky,

I wanted to share a Valentines Day decorating idea to replace your snowflakes (love them by the way). Along with other cute Valentines Day stuff, Pottery Barn Kids has the cutest lanterns to hang that are all decked out in hearts, stripes and solids. Not sure if they are what your looking for, but maybe something else will catch your eye while browsing their website (www.potterybarnkids.com).
Thanks for all your inspiration in 2007 - Happy New Year!

P.S. I ordered your DVD today - so excited to receive it!

Hope you have a great New Year! I have a quick question for you. I was looking at your scrap room in the Jan. CK and saw how you store your paper. Do you have trouble with it bending? I'm tring to organize and the stand up paper holders are alot cheaper than the lay down ones, but I'm picky about my papers bending. Thanks!

Hey Becky - when my scrap friends get together we always count how many layouts we get done in the evening or weekend or whatever... and a double layout is always counted as 2! (since it's 2 sides of a single!) so in effect, you only need to do 16 layouts this Jan! ;)

Happy new Year!!

I signed up for Lain's class yesterday. It would be so cool to get 31 layouts done in January. We'll see how it goes.

I have an organization question...what do you do with the boxes that the cell phone, GPS, etc come in? Do you throw out the boxes and just keep the literature? Also, how do you store all the wires? We had a very "techie" Christmas and now I have so many wires, boxes, manuals, etc!!!

On an "organizational" note...do you have a preferred website that you turn to for organizational advice...I am desperate!! (Can you tell that I am trying to get more oraganized in the new year??)

By the way, Becky...when are you going to write that organization book? Perhaps that could be your resolution for 2008!!?? Hee! Hee!!

I hemmed and hawed about the page a day resolution and finally said - YES, I can do it! So I tried to sign up, and I keep getting a "page expired" screen. I'll keep trying, because now I'm excited and I need some accountability to keep me going. Anyone else having problems signing up?

What a cute idea with the snowflakes!!! I never thought about keeping the eye hooks up all year round. You can always find something to add there. Thanks for the ideas. I saw your scrap room in the Jan CK and am hoping to get your dvd in the mail soon. Do you know when they will be mailing them out. I am worried I got taken off the list because I returned one that just did not interest me. So, I hope not to miss out on yours. I DEFINITELY want that one. I guess I can watch your blog to see when others start getting their copies and see if I need to order mine separately, since returning the one copy. I am really looking forward to all your ideas that you will be sharing with us!!!

Happy New Year!!!

Hi Becky,
LOVE the snowflakes! ;) I just started out with one of my resolutions---get rid of EXCESS! So far so good...by the way, excess includes any and all junk and weight gained through the years! ;0)ha!

I'm with you on the scrapbooking a layout a day! I'm going to TRY this year to get that done!

Hugs,
Vida
