simple birthday

Five minutes before I was to leave for my carpool run to pre-school today, I realized that every good mom brings treats to school when their child has a birthday. Right? So I resorted to the fastest-ever, last-minute thing I could come up with a pinch. I was a printing-cutting-stapling MACHINE for those 5 minutes. And still made it to pre-school in time. : )

WAY simple bag toppers. Thank goodness we already had the fruit snacks on-hand! The inspiration for this simple little concoction was already there. This is what we had done for the party favors.

And these were his invites. 100% digital.

Porter's (ultra simple) party was so much fun. Cake & ice cream. Pinada (which David had to finally bust). Presents.

Sometimes simple is best. The kids just loved running around & playing together. That's really the best part. Can't believe how blessed we are to have so many fun friends here. Can't believe our baby's five.

Hey Becky, what program did you use to do the invitations? I am wanting a picture circle cropped for our Christmas cards and am having the hardest time figuring it out in photoshop. Thanks! Cassie

Wow! Porter is five already!?! Where does the time go? I remember you standing on that ladder in my kitchen painting my wall and you were pregnant with him, yet you didn't even know it! (If I had known, I wouldn't have let you stand on the ladder!)

Such a cute picture of the 3 of you. Glad you're back in AZ!

Happy Birthday, Porter!

Why is it that other people's children seem to grow up faster than our own? ;)

I love the topper ideas. I will be borrowing that for my son's b-day gift bags next year. Very cute! I love seeing your layouts about the kiddos - I have a boy who turned 5 on November 3rd and a girl that turned 2 on August 18th, so it's so fun to see layouts and projects where our kids are the same age. :)

Happy Birthday to Porter!

I hate to vent here this morning, but I'm not the only one with some worries. Please see this post on the two peas message board: http://twopeasinabucket.kaboose.com/mb.asp?cmd=display&thread_id=2431877

I JUST sent my cards yesterday with the 41 cents that you said would be plenty (I didn't add anything to the card - no extra embellies, photos, letters, etc) and I'm going to be REALLY upset if they all come back. Mainly because they stamp the heck out of them first before they sent them back. I sent out 40 of them yesterday :(

I love the cards and the kits, they were great. But I'm going to be really disappointed if all of my cards come back.

Oh no - it looks like there are a lot of really disappointed people on that blog! I haven't sent out my cards yet - I am goingt to keep an eye on that blog to see if other people experience the same thing. Too bad.

Hi Becky

Happy birthday porter!

It was my thread on 2peas, post office made me put 17 cents more on each card and to seal up the cards better(i had just used the sticker). The only thing I put in the card was a photo. The weight was fine, just too bumpy.

The peppermint fudge looks so yummy!

Love the photo! The apple didn't fall far from the tree!!! Time does fly - I love the song "Blink" from Tim McGray (i think that is who sings it....) - it talks about you're six years old, take a nap and wake up and your twenty-five and marrying your high school sweetheart.... The same will happen with your children, so just remember to enjoy them.

Becky- I just noticed that you said the font you used for Porter's birthday invitation in Rockwell. I was just wondering if that was the only font used??? "Porter's 5th birthday" looks like it is in something else. I really like that font and would be thrilled if you told me what it was...thanks so much! It must get annoying to get all of these random nitty-gritty queries. We sure appreciate you sharing all of your creative ideas and being so helpful!
