new year & LOVE
Happy New Year to you!
Yesterday I mentioned that I wanted to create a layout a day in January. Guess what I did yesterday? Completed nine layouts (18 pages). Yay for that. I wanted to get a jump-start on the month and thought I'd do a little catching-up before January officially arrived, but didn't realized I'd be so productive. The key word is completed. All of the pages were ones that I had started, but hadn't finished or journaled on. But still ... seriously productive and a great way to start of my scrapbooking goal. I'm still going to try to do 31 layouts (62 pages) in January.
Today I'm thinking about LOVE. I took some engagement pictures for some friends recently and finally got around to really going through them this week.

Photographing Aimee & Vaughn definitely ranks as one of my all-time favorite photo shoots. Hanging out with two young people who are so fun, so willing to do "whatever" for the camera, so in love, and beginning their lives together ... that's just cool. And I happen to love them too! I've known both of them since they were 12 years old, and ... fast-forward several years ... Aimee was a huge help to me/our family for about a year recently. I made her a little scrapbook, which some of you may remember (see July 17 post).
By the way, this is them. : )

And speaking of love, be sure to check out the brand-new KOTM here. Robin Johnson designed a scrapbook kit called "The Greatest Love Story". Since David's and my love story is already well-documented (I started scrapbooking around the time that we met), I put this album together for my parents who just celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary last week.
It comes in this beautiful tin.

The cover page.

And a few inside layouts.

I love how it turned out and the fact that it took me only an hour & a half to put together, including pictures. Now it's off to my parents & with a little encouragement, they're going to fill in the blanks and write their own love story. In their own handwriting, of course.
Do you have your love story documented? (You don't have to answer that. Just something to think about.) Robin's kit could help you get it done.
May 2008 be filled with love in your life!

Happy New Year Becky! I don't have my husband and I's love story documented yet - it's almost fourteen years now - I guess I should get on that!

Happy New Year Becky and to your beautiful family :)
WOW about the 18 pages...that's fantastic :) I love the idea of having a goal ~ makes me work hard towards it and I feel great about it once I'm done!
I'm anxious to see all your new layouts in the magazine!
Wow as usual I am impressed I was feeling good because I finished ONE layout on New Years
Eve Day. But nine layouts? Fantastic. I probably wouldn't have even completed the one if it wasn't for you, I used your 2nd Creative Sketches book page 44. So thank you!! I couldn't have done it without you. :) Happy New Year everyone. I spent a very cold one in Alexandria VA last night brrrrrr, and it's super windy here today in VA.

Love the mini book and what a great idea to make it for your parents!
Yesterday I realized that meeting the goal of 31 pages/projects in a month was not going to happen in the packed catch all space I claim as my SB space so I did some serious cleaning and reorganizing yesterday. Wow am I behind and I don't care.
Happy New Year, Becky! A HUGE congrats on completing so many layouts!! That is fantastic! 62 pages in January is a very lofty goal, but I have a feeling you will accomplish it!! I took Lain's challenge, but I haven't quite finished my layout for today...I still have time, though!! The young couple you photographed is adorable! There's nothing like young love!
Hey Becky!
I have emailed the address to get information on how to buy your DVD twice and they have not replied. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks,
Bek
Happy New Year Becky! I love this tin album and you photos are just amazing! I too am going to try to to a LO a day!! We will see how it goes!
All the best to you in 2008!!
Hugs!

I am a serious lurker and thought it was about time I acknowledge all of your hard work. Thank you so much for sharing little bits and pieces of your sweet life and for all the scrapbooking tips and most importantly the yummy recipes! :-) I am amazed at all you accomplish...Would you be willing to share a typical "day in the life of Becky" schedule? Seriously. I am a SAHM of 2 and although I admit I am not the best at time management, I would really like to compare our days and see how I could realistically squeeze some more quality time in. Thanks for any suggestions!
Kudos to you Becky for completing all those layouts... and love how you're sticking to your guns and going for 62 pages (31 layouts), instead of 31 pages (16 layouts). I know I would have taken the easy way out, LOL!!!!
Love the Love album. I've done an album of our first 10 years together... in 4 more years time I'll be ready to do the 20 year album! Man, that is scary - makes me feel old, but I'm only 33!
Happy New year!
I'm with Ellen...please, please share a "day in the life of Becky" with us...I want to know how you do it!! Thanks!!
Bek...I tried to e-mail the company about the DVD, too. I never heard back from them - just call the number - I ordered mine on Saturday...Yippee!!!
Happy New Year Becky!!! I am going to try the resolution of layouts, but I am going to realistically set a goal for 16 a month, with my hectic life. :-)
I need to get going on recording how my husband and I met. It is a pretty fun story, I just need to do it. Thanks for the push!!!
Tina
I'm with everyone else, but it should be a week in the life of Becky! I am totally up for the challenge! I scrapped a page late last night, and am getting together with my sister today to do another! This is exciting, not even a contest, but so, so fun! Hope you had a great Christmas and New Year!
My new year started out with a bang... My boyfriend gave me a ring at midnight!! :) Love is great!!
SO CUTE! :)
