something else to win
This whole idea of giving away things is just too much fun. So guess what? Let's do it some more!
Back on Dec. 7 here on my blog, there was a "blog conversation" based on a Canadian-based online scrapbooking store. Eden with Scrapbook Away (the store) wants to give some product away to ... one of you! She has a package ready to send to the winner. It includes a copy of my new Sketches book, one of the We R Memory Keepers albums that I use and LOVE, as well as some other really fun things.

So this is what I'm thinking. I know we all inspire each OTHER and if you're one to read the comments, you've likely found yourself quite a bit of great ideas from your fellow blog readers. So in the spirit of influencing each other for good, post a comment to enter yourself in the drawing. Tell us your first name & where you live and then tell us ONE very specific goal/resolution you have for the New Year. By specific, I don't mean "I want to be healthier". I mean "I will stop adding salt to everything I eat" or "I will eat out just once a week now".
Tell me one specific thing you're going to do this year to make your life better. Got it? Good. This will be fun.
WeI will choose a random winner & announce on Monday. By the way, you can check out her online store here. And no, you don't have to live in Canada to win.

Hi Becky! I'm Suzanne from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. One of my goals for this year is to scrapbook more. Last year, I really didn't do much scrapbooking, so my goal this year is to complete at least 25 layouts. This number may seem low to some, but last year I completed 0! Another goal is to complete cards at least 2 weeks ahead of when they are needed. I am also a stamper and found that in 2007 I was making cards at the last possible moment. I really want to get ahead this year. Thanks to both you and Eden for the chance to win!

My goal is to walk or DDR* almost every day for exercise & fun!!
*DDR is Dance Dance Revolution! A fun way to get some cardio and have a blast with the kiddos!!
My name is Alice and I live in Colorado. My resolution is because of my daughter. She is 13 and decided a couple of months ago that she wants to make dinner for the family once a week. Because of her schedule, we decided on Wednesday, but by Wednesday every week I have no groceries in the house! I never got into the habbit of shopping on a certain day, I would just go for a few things every couple of days or so. So, my resolution is to go grocery shopping every Sunday and to buy enough food to last a whole week! Is that boring?

I am Sharla from Southern CA. This year, I am taking the month of February off from as many obligations as I can get out of before I have my fourth baby! I guess you can say I am specifically resolving to take a much needed breather before our family starts on a new adventure.
Wow - what a great gift! I already have the sketches book but if I won I think my sister would love to receive a copy too!
One thing I am doing this year - and have already begun is to purge our home - top to bottom. I believe that it will be easier for us to keep it organized (boys included!) and give me time to do some of the things that I enjoy (like scrapping and crocheting). :)
I live near Harrisburg, PA.
Kiley from Warman, Saskatchewan
My resolution is too stop watching so much tv. Instead of watching tv I will have numerous hours to keep the house de-cluttered, finish all unfinished crafts/projects. With all of this time, I then have time to gets lots of scrapbooking done!! Last but not least, I will have more time to cook better meals for my family and spend lots of "play" time with my boys!

Hello! I am Andrea from Warrenton, Virginia One of my goals is to make sure that I get my childrens' chore chart done and taken care of on a monthly basis. They need to learn that things don't just get done themselves, they are ready to go with it too. I found their little organizational list of how they will spend their Friday evening after chores! First they'll play then they'll rest then they'll have a snack etc etc. LOL Gotta love that my list making is rubbing off.
Thanks,
Andrea
Hi Becky,
Tina from Clarkston, MI
My goal is to follow Ali's "One Little Word" to help focus myself and my husband on the little "good" things in our lives. We've been married for 11 years and need something to spice up the marriage. He has happily agreed to the concept and we'll be choosing "One Little Word" to focus on each month. Here's to us and refocusing on our marriage! :)
My name is Amy from Holbrook Arizona and my goal is to not miss more than one Sunday of church in a row. I feel really uncomfortable in our Ward and have a hard time making myself go to church so i'm hoping the goal helps.
Thanks!

My name is Debra and I am from San Marcos, CA. My biggest and most important resolution is to bew more patient and understanding with my kids (6 1/2 and 4 year old twins). All too often I get wrapped in all the day-to-day 'stuff' and then get frustrated with them. That is definitely going to change :-)
Hi! I'm Heidi & I'm from Glenmoore, PA. One of my intentions this year is to learn more about photography and my camera. I will starting with lighting. I also hope to learn more about digitally altering my photos. Thanks Scrapbook Away!
Well, before I started reading the blog responses, I had a very different resolution, however, after reading Krista's response (about creating a scrapbook for her heavenly angel), I am now resolving to appreciate my life more - my kids, my husband, my parents, my home, my health A LOT more because life is short!!! So, my resolution this year is to make more quality time for my children -to really appreciate the awesome gift that they are.
Krista, I will keep you in my prayers as you work on your scrapbook for your child who is no longer with you. I cannot thank you enough for opening my eyes to how truly blessed I am.
Well, Becky, you were right - we do learn things from our fellow bloggers!!
Happy new year to all!

Howdy from Texas! My name is Ann and I live in McKinney, Texas. My in-laws live with us and my FIL is very ill with cancer. He can be more than a handful and sometimes I take it personally and miss out on the magic that could take place in this house, having merged three generations together. My specific goal this year is to "let things go, and search for the magic - even if I have to make the magic happen" ... life is way too short to take things personal and never see the magic.
Hi, I'm Susan from Overland Park, KS. One of my resolutions is to finish scrapbooking my family's Disney vacation album from 2005. Oh my! I'm a little behind! :)
HI this is Julia from Ontario CA.
My goal is to keep track of the number of pages I actually complete this year. Last year I started a 365 page goal, but had no system to keep track. I will be uploading each page to my blog and think this will be a great way to keep track.

Hi, Marne from Meridian, Idaho. One goal from this year is writing down everyday how I was able to see God's hand in my life that day.
My goal this year is to complete at least one book a month. I buy these best sellers and between kids and work they just seem to decorate my bookshelves.
Becky, You have the greatest ideas!! I love checking back to see all the fun things you come up with.
BTW, Thanks for the heads up on Karlee's Kreations... I got my bag in the mail, and I love it!!
I can't wait to see what fun ideas you come up with next!! :)
I'm Stephanie from Franklin, TN. One of my resolutions is to be more diligent in journaling in notebooks I have for my girls. I have them ready, I just need to set aside time to actually write in them. That's a big focus for me for '08.

My name is Melissa, and I'm from OKC, OK. One specific goal I have this year is to lighten up! (In more than one area... I want to be more positive, not to stress about unnecessary things, get rid of clutter in my life, to drop unwanted pounds, enjoy life, laugh, love, etc!!)
HI!!!
I'm Manuela from Italy!
my goal this year is to be a better mom and wife: since I've discovered scrapbooking some months ago, I think I paid less attention on my children and husband, even if the subject of my pages are definetely them!!

I will continue to try and reach out to a particular person in my life who has been lonely and sad. I don't have many talents but I can do this.
I'm Anne from AZ. One of my goals this year is to cook better meals for my family and to serve at least one veggie (and eat it myself!) for dinner.
Hello, Emily from Suwanee, GA
I want to savor or "be in the moments more" with my 4 year old this year - she will be off to kindergarten in the fall...
Good morning, this is mine...to pause. Basically to slow down and live more consciously. To pause, before I react to something my children have done, before purchasing something impulsively, before putting the second (insert appropriate comfort food here) in my body. To really experience my life, not let it go flying by (like the way it has been since having my boys). Happy New Year to all!
Hi, I'm Cyndi from Witt, IL.
Can't tell you how many times in a week I'm stressed searching for a child's shoe or a school paper or the revised basketball practice schedule. Or that extra toothpaste I KNOW I bought to put in the hall closet so we don't run out!!
My specific goal is to reduce stress by organizing my home and sticking with a cleaning schedule. i.e. Monday is dusting, Tuesday is floors, Wednsday is windows, and on and on.
Hi Becky,
I am Beth from Chapin, SC. I want to wish you, your family, and all the bloggers Happy 2008!!! May God Bless us all and help us have a brighter future!!!
My new year resolutions are the simple ones - organize more, scrapbook more, be a better house keeper, be more patient with my 7 yr old son that I love dearly, exersice, attend church more regular. My main goal is to cut back on the amount of Coke I drink and drink more water. I know it sounds boring but will be better for me!!!!! Thanks Eden for the chance for the nice supplies!!!
Hi,
I'm Avital from Dublin, Ireland.
My most specific resolution is:
Whenever I am annoyed, I will breath for 10 sec., than think for 5 sec. and than respond.
That is an auxiliary goal in the main: "Relax and enjoy life" goal.
Hi Becky!
My name is Kerry and I'm from Burlington, Ontario, Canada.
My goal this year is to have and serve at least 5 servings of fruits and veggies every day.
My name is Sarah. I live in Kidder, Mo. This year I want to focus on photography. I WILL take a class, and read up on different styles....thank you.
I plan on reducing my risk of stroke by exercising 3-4 times per week and our family is not going to eat out on a regular basis. I also need to spend more time 'playing' with my kids and stop fretting about the house.

What a great contest! My goal this year is to push myself further out of my comfort zone and get to know others that live around me. I think I can do that by making a treat and delivering it to someone new each month.
My name is Bev and I live in Paradise, Utah. (It really is Paradise!!)
Happy New Year from Kathy of Hillsboro, Oregon.
2007 I stopped eating french fries -- haven't had ONE since 1/25/07 (lost 25 lbs and counting). Funny thing is, I really don't miss them!
2008 I'm not eating ANYTHING from McD's and to get on the digital bandwagon and scrapping digitally!
My name is Tina and I'm from Newton, MA.
My goal this year is to go running at least twice a week. It's time to lose that baby weight!
My goal this year is to be organized in LIFE! We are expecting our 3rd child, I've started my own photography business, and I need to organize my spiritual life!

My name is Gillian and I'm from Comox, BC. My resolution this year is to follow the 365 challenge and take a photo a day for the whole year! I'm loving it so far.
Wow, thanks for inspiring us all with your contest. It is so fun to read what other people are going to do. Also, thanks for the kick in the pants, I'd made some vague goals, but nothing specific yet.
My goal is to create something everyday- whether that be a card, a scrapbook page or a handsewn item, I am going to do something everyday. I did a lot of sewing at the end of last year, so the beginning of this year is probably going to be heavy on the scrapbook side.
Kristi
Syracuse, NE
My name is Marlene and I live in Layton, UT. My resolution this year is to become less focused on the mundane tasks of each day (housework, laundry, etc.) and more focused on my three, soon to be four, kids. They are growing up way too fast and I want to treasure every minute of it.
My name is Lori, and I live in Spokane, Washington. The "name" of my resolution is very generic: Just Be. But in my head it is very specific. I want to "just be" content with my life. "just be" a patient mom. "just be" a loving wife. Little acts of love to my family. "just be" simple in my material possesions. "just be" a better person. "just be" happy with my weight or get serious about doing something about it. My goal is not about 'settling' for less than the ultimate. It's about being happy with my life, where I am, with who I am, and with my choices. I spent too many years chasing this invisible 'ideal' that I thought I wanted, and all the while, the ultimate life has been right here. I am going to stop comparing myself and my life to those around me. I am going to appreciate my family and friends with cards and words. I will "just be" a better person in my thoughts and in my actions and in my words. The mantra of "just be" may sound simple, but I can put it on post-its around my work and home and they will be the gentle nudges I need to remember my life goals.
Sorry so long. Have a great 2008. I love reading your blog.
My name is Christina from Tamarac, Florida.
This year my goal is to get my house organized. My DBF and I moved in together in June and the condo is still mass chaos, including the garage. We don't want to live like this but it's so overwhelming so it as become priority No. 1 to get it done. Everything needs to have a home and what doesn't either gets tossed or goes on e-bay. I'm sick of the clutter!
Hi Becky what a great gift to begin the new year. I really love it. I'm Irene from Katwijk in Holland. My resolution is to be healthier this year. So this means loosing weight, do more exercise, and eat healthy. I find it really difficult because I like all the bad stuff and I'd rather sit and scrapbook than exercise.
My name is Denise & I live in Syracuse, Utah. My resolution is to stop trying to get the "perfect shots" at events like birthday parties, holidays, etc...and try to live in the moment just a little bit more. Afterall, the memory is what makes it special and without that, the pictures don't mean as much. :o)
My name is Robin & I live in Dubuque, Iowa. My goal is to do these three things every day: 1. Read something from the Book of Mormon -- even if all I can get to is a verse. 2. Do at least 15 min. of Yoga a day. 3. Do something related to scrapbooking -- even if it's just making a quick sketch before heading to bed.
My name is Jodi and I live in Eagle Mountain, Utah. My resolution this year is to have my kids to school on time EVERYDAY. We always seem to be running about 1-2 minutes late. : )
I'm Paula from Huntington, Indiana.
My goal for the 2008 year is to start my photo business. I'm going to be proactive about it and serious. I will talk it up to everyone i talk to (within reason and where appropriate).
Have a happy 2008 yourself!
Hi Becky, My name is Debi and one of my January goals (I break my goals into months) is to walk/run 2 miles at least 5 days a week. Love the cute package!!

I will choose my own happiness. More specifically I want to remember I am in charge of how I feel and I can choose how I react. I also would like to spend more one on one time with my children.
My name is Katie and I am from Adrian, Michigan.
My specific goal is to quit drinking Diet Coke. I'm totally addicted-it's my coffee in the morning.

I will keep my refrigerator dry-erase calendar updated so my sweet hubby knows what the heck is going on around here!!! :)
I am Ami from Edwardsville, Illinois.
Happy New Year!!!
I'm Megan from Warren, Michigan.
My goals are to:
1. Get more active - walk, play with my son, stay off the couch :).
2. Journal for my son. I was inspired by your doing that for your children, and I want to keep a better record from my son of his life and what he means to us.
Hi! My name is Lisa and I'm from Warsaw, Indiana. One of my goals this year is to overcome some fears by seeing what I need to do to update my teaching license.
I'm Sheri from Windsor, CO
My goals for this year are clean up the house a little every night before bed and read at least a chapter in my book each night.
This year my goal is to do one layout per week, yes I thought about taking becky's challenge but I thought that was far to lofty for me and I probably wouldn't get any done. Also I want to read to my son everyday and write in a food journal.

One of my resolutions is to be better about saying our blessing at dinnertime. We have such hectic lives and really need to slow down and remember who allowed us to have this great life. We get in such a hurry we sometimes forget and I want that to change.

Cedar Hills, UT
I plan to send at least one item of happy mail to friends and family every week.
Hi, I am Susan from Iowa. My resolution is to plan and prepare better meals for my family. They deserve that and I owe it to them. I have used the excuse that I am working to slack on my duties as a wife and mother. I need to step up and take it on like so many others do each and every day!
Rachel Hillman

When I shop I'm going to use reusable bags 95% of the time (have to allow myself SOME error, right?)
My name is Rachel from Salt Lake City, UT. One of my goals is to better organize my kids playroom and keep it that way-lol :)
Hello! My name is Lynette from Medina, OHIO....here is my resolution....
I am keeping a journal and my number one item is to LIVE IN THE MOMENT!!!! I am going to appreciate each day more and watch it all happen! I am not going to worry about the household things first...they will be there! I have twins and they are growing so fast so i will go with the intention every day to savor the moments with them and life as it comes...
Today it snowed...we have 7 inches of fun, white, glistening snow waiting to be touched, created into snowballs and angeles...we are off to a fun play date...my twins and me!!!
Happy New Year to all of YOU!
I'm Dawn from Greensboro NC. One of my resolutions is to organize every piece of my holiday decorations.
Heather from Knoxville
Sell our home by 3/1/08 so my daughter and I can join daddy who had to move ahead to start his new job.
I want to say "no" to the things that drain me rather than fill me up so I have more time for myself, my children and my relationship with my Heavenly Father.
Jamie Wilde-Tooele Utah
My name is Steffani, and I am from Austin, Texas. My resolution for the New Year is to make the journaling in my scraobooks more meaningful. When in a rush, I often resort to basic who, where, when information, but that doesn't add the personality or uniqueness to my albums that I love, so I am slowing down and doing it right! Happy New Yeat Scrappers!
Hello, My name is Hilary Austin. I live in Nixa, Missouri.
I have two main goals for this New Year. First, I want to be more spiritual. Meaning that I want to spend more time reading my bible and trying to live like HIM. The second goal is to drink 6-8 glasses of water. It sounds easy but I never do it.
Thanks for all the other words of wisdom. Everything sounds great. Hilary
Hi-
I'm Clair from Fort Campbell, KY.
My resolution- I will complete one scrapbook layout per week- to be done on Thursday mornings (when possible) while my littlest one is in preschool.
I'd be intersted to know if there are any scrapbook clubs or such that are doing a page a week. I'd love to have company and someone to share with. Anybody know?
Thanks.
Hello Becky. My name is Nicole and I am from Victorville, California. I have 4 boys and have my hands full with them all the time.
My specific goal for this year is to lose the baby weight. My scrapbooking goal is to get "caught up" on older photos. I would like to get at least all of my 2005 and 2006 photos done. We will see how well this goes. However I have decided that it is ok too if I don't get them all done. :)
Have a great day.

The one MAJOR thing that I must do in my live is exercise. I am in my 30's and have recently found out that I have the start of heart problems. I MUST do this because I am a mother that WANTS to be with her children. This has also made me want to follow you in scrapping a page a week. I keep thinking that if I were to die than my children need to know their past.
God Bless,
Deanne
hi becky! i am brandie and i live in portland, maine.
my main goal is to just do it. to decided to do something and then begin. i spend sooo much time in the planning and researching phase of new projects, that very often i don't ever begin. i wish i were more like my children in that way, then decide they are going to start something and then they just begin. oh the wisdom of the youth!

My Resolution this year is to Spend Less and Save More. Boring, I know.
Hi! Suzanne from Antelope, CA
My goal: I started a personal scrapbook called my journey - 2008. I am half way to my goal weight/range that is healthy, however I still see myself as overweight and sad. I need to change this, so I will document each month with pictures and a journal entry - visually I can start to see the differences, leave behind those things I cannot change and embrance the accomplishments.
I will also start to try on those small sizes and better style clothes for my proportions. I know that they may not all fit now, but will someday.
Happy new year everyone.
Hi there,
Each time I want to swing into the local coffee shop for a pick me up, take that coffee money and put it away. At the end of the year, I want to take what I have collected and give it to a worthy charity. This is a goal that will make me feel better about myself, I hope.:-)
This is Tina in Washington

Also to submit at least 1 layout for each Becky's Sketch call for CK magazine!
Maren from Rexburg, Idaho...my goal this year if to keep my library late fines under $1 at all times!
My goal is to do something creative every day even if it's only 10 minutes! Fun!
