playing with c.d.'s kit
My friend C.D. Muckowsky has put together a really fun kit for Cocoa Daisy Scrapbooking. Check it out here. She is their guest designer for February and put all of her favorites into one kit. I've been playing with the kit myself and thought I'd share what I've whipped up. C.D. and I have very different styles and I love that. Just goes to show ... you can make just about anything work with YOUR style. So great.

By the way, I cover this theme a lot in our scrapbooks. Summing up an entire summer on one layout, that is. I have found that I'm doing it every year in our family albums, as well as the kids' albums. It's sooo manageable. I don't feel the need to do a layout on every aspect of summer, so I get it all in on one layout ... for the most part. Last year we had a big family reunion. That gets its own layout (a few layouts in the family album) because of all those great, rare cousin pictures. Know what I mean? But the rest of the summer can be summed up on one layout. And that's what this layout is, for Claire's album.

Claire is such a cutie! Thanks for sharing it with us.
How cute! Question I always have is how do you determine what SIZE to print your photos? I guess since mykids are so young (2 & 4) I tend to take WAY to many pics and want to scrap them all! LOL! I love the idea of a one page one month LO!
great layout and i love the fact that you are scrapbooking summer layouts in winter. [doesn't it just put you in the warm weather mood?]
Hi Becky - I LOVE the layout - and I LOVE the pool!! I can't wait for summer!!! Anyway, I have a question for you - what do you do with all the greeting cards you get? I know what you do with the photo Christmas card ones, but what about the other holiday cards? Birthdays? Valentine's Day, etc...Thanks for any suggestions...
Love it! And I love your style!
Claire is so cute. Love the idea of summing up summer in one layout.
Question about your album Becky, do you have a problem with the protector getting caught by the ring? If you do, do you do anything about it? Do you use the protector from the company you bought your albums? I want to switch into 3 ring binder albums and the ones I checked out, the protectors always get caught by the ring. I want to know before I order online and spend money on shipping and end up returning it.
Thanks.
Grace C.
Becky,
I have an idea what goes in the children's books but I'm wondering how much detail goes into your family albums?

Love it when you share LOs with us! thanks for the inspiration :) keep it coming!!
I love, love, LOVE the torn out spiral notebook page...turned into a 1/2 circle. LOVE that! I do the same thing with my kids...with the season-in-review. It makes it so easy and helps me feel on top of my scrapbooking. Thanks again for your great inspiration!!!
I love this idea...in theory. But I have such a hard time choosing just a handful of pics and cropping them small to put on just 2 pages.
What do you do with all the other zillion pictures you took that summer? Or maybe you don't take a zillion but there must be more than a double page for family's, Porter's & Claire's albums?
I think that is why I can't do a summary, I don't know what to do with the rest of the pictures.
Fantastic layout! Claire is totally CUTE!
I'm finding that approach is SO fun going back through the kids pictures for school. What took me 3000 pictures to capture can be reduced down to about 30 pictures that are "the best of the best" for their school development year. Lovin' that! I just did about 8 months in 1 hour! I LOVE having categorized my pics well in PSE using the organizer! Whew! So easy to print my 5 stars of each child and be DONE!
Have you thought about starting a FlickR group for us to post pictures of our school album and compare notes? I'd LOVE that. Maybe there is a forum somewhere already...point the way! (sorry this got lengthy for a comment!)
cute :)
I always have such a hard time decideing on a few pictures from a theme. But I love how you summed up summer in the two pages. It is so true that it is very do-able that way. C.D is very talented too love her work!!
You are just too good. LOVE this layout. I need to incorporate more of these types if layouts into my life. :)
I love the idea of wrapping up an entire season on one page. It works great for several pictures that are just great pictures but they do not really fit anywhere.
Thanks for sharing!

thanks for sharing! I LOVE CD's stuff! she is so incredibly talented and creative!!! :D
Becky,
I really enjoy your summer layout! It instantly brought back memories of warm summer days. I love how you summed up the highlights in a two page spread. A little of this, a little of that. The notebook paper shapes are really cool.
Thanks again for sharing!
