school kit FAQ

First of all, a picture from this past weekend. And it appropriately highlights GREEN for St. Patrick's Day, which is today.

Went to L.A. with some friends to see Wicked (my first time) and LOVED it. The talent blew me away.

---

I'm thrilled that so many of you are doing the "happy dance" about us making the school kit available. I'm happy to address the questions some of you have.

Q: How long do I have to pre-order, to guarantee that I don't miss out?

A: This Friday (March 21) at 5:00 pm MST will be the last day that you can pre-order and KNOW that you'll receive your kit(s) when we ship. We will continue taking pre-orders at a first come, first served basis, based on how many kits we have left with the inventory we've ordered.

Q: When will the kits ship?

A: June 1.

Q: I went to order, but I'm not sure the site is secure.

A: The main KOTM page with all the information is not a secure site, because it does not need to be. But when you click to order, everything is absolutely secure in the shopping cart.

Q: When is my credit card actually charged?

A: Not until the kits ship in June.

Q: Will you take international orders?

A: YES (yay)! We'll ship to you, wherever in the world you may be.

Q: Are the memorabilia pockets designed for a 3-ring binder?

A: Yes. The holes are already punched for you and everything fits perfectly into 3-ring binders. Remember: It is not intended for EVERYthing (all the school years) to fit into one album. Depending on how many pages you add to each grade, and how full the memorabilia pockets are, will determine how many albums you'll need for each child.

Q: Any chance of ordering just the memorabilia pockets?

A: Nope, sorry.

Q: Does the kit come with a list of suppliers in case I need to piece together another one in the future?

A: This kit is made up entirely of the custom designs & colors that I worked on with a super talented graphic designer. That means nothing in the kit comes from another manufacturer. So if you want just some of the pieces or parts of the kit, you just have to get the kit. : )

Q: I already got my kit and wondered about getting more of some of the papers & accents from the kit. Is that possible?

A: All I have to say is ... Just WAIT until you see my brand-new kit that will also come out in June.

Q: I got a kit the first time around and noticed a damaged piece. Who do I tell?

A: Contact Vivian (vgrothe@ckmedia.com) and she'll take care of you.

Q: I'm new to your blog and not familiar with the school kit. How can I learn more?

A: Go here for the website where you would read about the kit, and also place your order. I have done a couple of video clips showing the kit contents and explaining more about them right here on my blog. Click on February 2008 (on the right) and scroll down to my Feb. 1 and Feb. 6 blog entries.

We are Wicked lovers too! Andrew and I went in December, and it was SO good! He is not even a big fan of broadway, but he downloaded "Popular" that night on itunes. So glad you go to go, and have a fun weekend get-a-way!

Are you sick of KOTM questions yet? Because I have one more...

I was thrilled to receive the kit I ordered for my 6 yr old. Love the idea of making these pages with him over the years.

Now I'm debating ordering two more for his younger brothers. I want to do the same kind of album for them, but not necessarily with the same colors/pp, etc.

Is there any chance you might create a school kit each year, but with different colors, etc? I think the demand is obviously there, and the diversity would be nice.

Please let us know if that is a possibility.
Thanks!

I just order three of the school kits and was wondering the same as Deirdre before I made my final decision (too late now). Since I have two boys and a girl I wasn't sure if they should all have matching school pages.

Can someone please tell me if the school kits come with instructions or example ideas for those of us who aren't that creative.

Thanks for sending the kits to wherever - no matter where that might be.

I got the last kit I needed ordered last week. YIPPEE!

DH has promised me a trip to NYC this spring and Wicked is at the top of my list to see. I missed it when it was in Dallas last summer.

That is so cool that you actually answer questions on your blog...what personal attention! I'm new to these KOTM and am hooked. Now instead of dreading the first of the month, I can't wait to see what's coming! I ordered 2 of the school kits and am excited to get them.

I got the chance to see Wicked last month in Cleveland thanks to my husband's company. It was so very wonderful. One of the gals that was there had seen it twice before (once on broadway and once someplace else). I don't know if I'll be able to watch the Wizard of Oz and see it like I had before I saw Wicked.

Thanks so very much for bringing back the school years kit again for those of us that didn't get them last time. :)

I am excited becasue I never got to get it the first time around. However I have a question. Will they send an email reminder that they will be charging my card before they actually do it in June? I don't want to forget and then not get it if something goes wrong with that account. Thanks.

okay, this is totally funny! I ALSO went to LA this weekend (I live in Oregon) and saw Wicked for the first time! I went to Saturday's 8pm show. I wonder if we were there at the same time! Wasn't it just fabulous?! I'm listening to the music right now and I was also thinking about it yesterday on St. Patrick's Day. :)
I'm already trying to figure out when I can go again and bring my husband along this time!

Hi Becky- I was hoping that maybe one day in the future you would have labels on your blog. I was looking for the post about albums you use and can't remember which month it was in but if you had a album or supply label... it woudl be a snap to find old posts. thanks:)

we have requested to get some of our tabs fixed, and nothing has been done yet. I am surprised that a poster here has gotten one, even though it was damaged. We ordered 4 kits and each one had damage to several tabs.

Hi! Here's another KOTM question: Which 3-ring binders do you personally use? TIA! Hugs, Carrie

I had two missing tabs as well. However, I was pleased to receive replacement folders with the tabs in the mail this week along with a spare set of stick on tabs.

I had a quick question about the school KOTM - my kids are older (15 & 12). Is this kit feasible for someone like me to go back and try to fill in? I have kept a little bit of their past school work, but sadly, it isn't organzied :( I wanted to make sure before I bought 2 kits that the journaling prompts/stickers would work for someone in my situaton. I love the idea and the colors you've used. It is a beautiful kit!!

I have not been able to find 12 x 12 3 ring binders anywhere! Any ideas? If I need to go online, can you suggest some sites that carry them? Also, how do i go about getting the replacements tabs?

Thanks!
