you love give-aways, don’t you?

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

We have 3 winners (randomly chosen from your comments this past week) for the CKU in a Box.

1. Denise in Manassas, VA (who made ant heads for the school play)
2. Donna in Las Vegas, NV (who picked up her wedding ring after having it repaired)
3. Melissa in La Grande, OR (who worked out & finished up graduation announcements)

Ladies, shoot me an e-mail (bhiggins@ckmedia.com) with your address and we’ll ship you a kit! It was fun to read the huge variety of tasks you all crossed off your to-do list. Lots of grocery shopping going on!

Hey – there’s another great book that’s brand-new, and it’s by the one & only Lisa Bearnson. It’s a great read and obviously, being a scrapbooking book, has oodles of beautiful and inspiring layouts. You’ll love how it gets you thinking, and helps those wheels in your head to turn with thoughts about what you’re scrapbooking, and what kind of topics you really don’t want to miss.

Go here for more information.

What’s that? You want another chance to win something else?? Oh, seriously. Come on. Really?

Alright, fine. Here we go again. Leave a comment (just your first name, city, and state would be fine) and I’ll do some random choosing again. A handful of you will win an autographed copy of Lisa’s book. She’ll sign it just for you. : )

another chance to win

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

I can smell it in the air. You guys LOVE the chance to win something!

So here we go again. I’m pleased to let you know that our “CKU in a Box” product is now available in the CK online shop. If you’re not familiar with this, it’s a project that I worked on with Lisa Bearnson and Tracy White. We wanted to bring the CKU experience right to your living room and this is the kit to do just that.

You can watch a video clip on Lisa’s blog here (4/18 entry) that shows you a glimpse. Or go watch it on YouTube. And you can click here for more information, and to order the kit.

Lisa’s giving a few away, and I’m doing the same! So woo-hoo for increasing your chances to win, right? Leave a comment with your first name, city, and state … and tell us one thing you checked off your to-do list today. I’ll announce the 3 lucky winners later this week.

In the meantime, congratulations to the winner of Donna’s 2 new books! STACY P. in Claremore, Oklahoma … shoot me an e-mail and I’ll get those books to you (bhiggins@ckmedia.com).

mesa & new books

Monday, April 21st, 2008

I enjoyed meeting some of you at the Mesa convention over the weekend. Looked like a lot of fun going on there! I even got to run into Maggie Holmes and Loni Stevens.

Both of these girls are super talented and super cute. Maggie is one of CK’s contributing editors now (and also blessing many families with her gift for photography). Loni, among other things, works tirelessly on our KOTM team, bringing her creativity to the kits each month. She’s amazing.

Hey – have you heard about Donna Downey’s 2 latest books? I really enjoyed looking through these recently. Once again, she shares fantastic, creative ideas for scrapbooking and related projects. I’d like to give away one of each of the books. Interested? Leave your first name, city, and state in the Comments and I’ll randomly choose someone in the next couple days.

You can go here for more information on “Designing Layouts” and here for “Fabric Scrapbooking”.

graduation pictures

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

Just sharing a few pictures I took of Cami last weekend — a super sweet, super beautiful, super young woman about to graduate from high school. Doesn’t she just radiate? I forgot how easy it is to photograph someone other than a small child who sometimes needs bribery.

(She LOVES these shoes, so how could I resist?)

Here’s a shout-out to all those with graduates in the family this Spring! Congratulations.

long time, no blogging

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

I know. I KNOW. That was a long time to not post anything.

I’m fine. Really, I’m doing well. Pregnancy just slows me down in every way and with the energy that I do have, I’ve had to really prioritize. Like keeping up with my work & deadlines, and laundry & dishes, and my kids! The good news is that I think (I HOPE) I’ve gotten through what really is the worst part of pregnancy, for me.

Anyway, thank you for your concern & I’m sorry I’ve been away so long. And while I’m still not back to cooking & baking very much, I did make one of my favorite soups last week, so I posted that on my Recipes blog. For those of you who check that faithfully, you’ll be thrilled to see something other than the O’Henry’s I posted in January. : )

Wishing you a beautiful & happy day today.
