I want to be clear that the expansion pack is EXTRA stuff. The first kit is awesome and not missing a thing to complete a fantastic school album. We had so much fun bringing you the School Years kit, we wanted to offer even more of a good thing with extra coordinated cardstock, embellishments, pockets and tons of other goodies. You asked us for more, and that’s exactly what this new kit is. We didn’t include the expansion kit with the School Years kit because, well, we didn’t expect your overwhelming excitement for the first kit. We also knew some of you wouldn’t want to pay extra for product you may not use.
[ how many to order? ]
Many of you are asking about how many of these kits you'll want to order, based on how many original school album kits you already have. You do not *need* a full kit for each kit you already have. One "expansion pack" can certainly be enough for 2-3 School Years kits. You will be the best judge. When I show more of the kit, you'll have a good idea of what's in it and how many you'll want. Stay tuned.
[ about the typo on the original school years kit ]
Yikes! Nothing is ever easy when we’re making a kit this huge. Somewhere along the production line in our Chinese factory, a type-o was introduced in one of the School Years pockets. We’re told the problem affects only a small number of kits, but we’re still waiting for confirmation from the factory before we can plan our next steps. If you have one of the pockets with a type-o, please email Vivian (VGrothe@CKMedia.com) with your name, address, and phone number and let us know. Stay tuned and we’ll give you more info as soon as it becomes available.

So glad to know I don't need to get 3 of these expansion kits! I'd been wondering about that. Will the first date of purchase be on July 1st (like the regular KOTM)? That's my dd's birthday and I'm already paranoid that I'm going to forget to get on that morning and order!
tehehe .. . off to check all my pockets. I organized them all, but didn't look to see how things were spelled on them!
Thank you so much for mentioning the misprint. Since both of my kids are little, I probably wouldn't have noticed the error for a couple of years when I finally got around to create their books!

Ditto to what Rachael said. I purchased the kits for my 9 month old and will keep them in the shipping box till she is in school so I haven't looked at them extensively.
Ditto to the others, could you clarify on the typo so I can check? 2 of my kids haven't even started school yet, so their boxes haven't even been opened.
Also, in one of my kits there isn't a "5" tab on 5th grade folder. I know you aren't customer service, Becky, could you point me in the right direction? Thanks!!
I too got 2 Grade 5 and missed a grade 3 folder, no biggie.

Like the others, my little ones aren't even in school yet, so I haven't opened the boxes...could you let us know what the typo is? Thanks!
So far, I've only found one typo in my kits...it is on the pre-school folder flap where it has a repeat pattern--it is spelled "pre-shool".
I sent an email to Vivian (VGrothe@CKMedia.com) to get it taken care of...per Becky!

I'm confused about "your" KOTM and the "regular" KOTM's, as well. As far as I could see, when you had a KOTM in the past, that was the only one offered. There wasn't a regular one that it was in addition to the School Kit or the Christmas card kit. Can you clarify? Thanks!
Ladies: It only took me a couple minutes to open my boxes and check my folders. I only found the "preshool" error. I say let's not bug Becky about this!! Check your kit and if there is a problem contact Vivian. That is your responibility, not Becky's. :)
The only errors I have found in my kits so far are on the pre-school folder where it says "pre-shool" across the top, and on the 3rd grade folder the #3 side tab is upside down. I called ck and they said they would send replacement folders, and then I also emailed Vivian. Becky, I know this is NOT your fault, so I too agree that this is not something we should be stressing you out about. I am simply commenting here to let people know what errors they need to look for and encourage them to contact the right people. The kits are awesome, and your creativity shines through as brightly as ever!!! The manufacturing issues are not a reflection on you, and the fact that you care enough to address this issue on your blog tells me a lot about your character. Keep shining, because I'm lovin' what you do :)
My kits also have the "pre-shool" typo as well as the #3 on the third grade tab is upside down. You might check this as well!
I will contact Vivian - all I was saying was that if people already know what the typos are, to please share that information. Thank you to those who did!

I checked my folders today and emailed Vivian. I just got that message in reply and I wonder about that. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, I just hope that CK has a backup plan for the replacement folders, because this sure is a great kit and I want to use it asap!

My kits (2) both have the pre-scool typo and one is also missing four grade folders.
