This expansion kit is going a LONG way. I've been using the elements for mostly non-school-related projects, actually. While everything in the expansion kit coordinates beautifully with the original school years kit, it's a great stand-alone grouping of stuff for all sorts of topics & projects. Have a look.

I created this Disney World layout for Porter's album, using Bazzill cardstock and American Crafts foam letter stickers. You'll notice how the left page is sprinkled with elements from the expansion kit that helped me quickly & "cutely" finish this layout. The library-style cards were the perfect place for journaling, the chipboard photo corners brought more focus to the main photo, and the metal clip & epoxy sticker are a fun addition for the top of the page (I tied a piece of ribbon from the kit, too).

Remember: You can click on any image to see it larger.

This single-page layout is in one of our family chronological albums from 2005. You may know that I'm totally a two-page-layout-kind-of-girl. This just happens to be the LAST page of that particular album, hence the single page. From the expansion kit, I used the letter stickers for the title, tore a piece of the ruled paper for the journaling, placed one of the border stickers across the top, and used a couple of self-adhesive photo turns for a finishing touch.

For those of you who got the original school years kit, you may already be finding out for yourself how handy those memorabilia pockets are for each grade! That's why we wanted to put a few more in the expansion kit. I can find many uses for them, and here's one: In an effort to catch up on some scrapbooking, I came across some memorabilia from our time living in Cleveland. Stuff that would go well within the family chronological album (2006), but too bulky for sewing a pocket page or something. This was my solution! And those little pockets in front come in handy for smaller stuff. Love that.

In my July 1 post, I shared a summer sum-up layout I did using more from the expansion kit. I just wanted to show a closer look at these file tabs. There are a bunch in the kit; they're oversized and so fun. We included the plastic tab holders AND the chipboard labels that fit perfectly. So easy to use and such a fun touch:

Head over here for more information on the expansion kit ... and don't miss out on another one selling out.

Shoot, missed out on the give away but wanted to let you know how much I love, love, love this expansion kit! It is seriously loaded with such beautiful embellies and paper! I missed out on the original kit but am SOOOO glad I was able to get my hands on this one! I would love to buy the plastic holders separately for other projects (hint, hint).

Becky I echo Jewel. I wish the expansion pockets were available plain for sale individually or in three or six packs perhaps, to use for other projects. I'd also love to see them in an 8.5 x 11 size--as an option as well. I think they'd FLY off shelves.

Thanks for having another give away. Over 1000 comments! I just got my expansion kit and kinda took it out of the box, but I can't wait to use it. Both of my kids are going to be in preschool for more than 1 yr (my son will be in preschool for 3 yrs) so I know I will want those pages to coordinate. :) Now I'm wondering if I should really get another one. I know I can't wait too long or I will be SOL but still, I love this kit and the original kit. :) Thanks for a great post!

Congratulations on the winners. I got my kit yesterday and so did my friend. WE BOTH LOVE IT!!!!
I agree Becky, this is not just for the school. This kit is very versatile. I cannot wait to start using it. For now, I have it on the floor - all laid out and drooling over it. The quality of the papers are amazing. Not to mention the value. I paid just a little bit less for the Monthly Kit I bought with only 20 pages and a few embellishment. Becky, thank you for showing more ideas here. I'm so glad I got mine, this will sell out.

Hi Becky!

Congratulations winners!

I wish I knew how many expansion kits were left. Now I think I want to buy one again. ugh! I was trying to be good and not buy any more scrapbook supplies for awhile.

Anyway, thanks for showing different ways on how to use this kit Becky. (even though my hubby may not thank you...cause I think I am about to fall off the wagon and buy this kit..lol)
Have a great day! =)

I am loving these kits! They are definitly my favorite kit ever.

I am a two-page-layout-kinda-girl too. But what do you do when you come across one picture that you want to highlight or nothing else seems to go with. How do I turn those into two pages? I hate when pages facing each other don't match!

Yes, that double clip board is so cute!!!! Where can we get one?

And that's a good suggestion for selling just the memorabilia pockets on it's own. I would love to put one of those on every albums I have. It's perfect for those too bulky souveneirs. And wonderful idea on different sizes to fit the different sized albums.

Congratulations to the lucky winners. I have both kits and love it so much. We'll worth the price.

Becky, your sample layouts are fantastic!! I got my kit yesterday, but I haven't had a chance to look through everything -I cannot wait!!

Also - for Katie - the 12x12 clipboard came from a KOTM that Lisa Bearnson put together a while ago...

Becky,
Thank you so much for the school kit! I could not believe my eyes when I saw that I had won. This has been a stressful last couple of months because of my surgeries - it was nice to have something positive happen for a change. I can't wait to get started on my kid's school albums.
I enjoy your blog so much. I get so much inspiration from you. Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas with the rest of us. Thanks again for the school kit!

Congratulations to all of the winners!!

Thank you so much for sharing your layouts Becky!! They look great. I just love your style. I hope that you will share more. I would love to see what you have done with the divided page protectors.

I was lucky enough to have purchased two of your school kits and one of your expansion kits. They are the best kits. I absolutely love them. Your expansion kit is so versatile. It really is a great extension for the school kit but you can do so much more with it. I especially love the library cards.

Thanks again and I'm looking forward to your next kit!!

Your ideas are fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing with all of us that find them inspiring-and best yet-DOable!
I had posted before but still haven't found out if anyone knows why the 3-ring RED We R albums are nowhere to be found! I have searched several sites & all say "unavailable". Any chance you in the scrap-retail world know? I use red albums for my kiddos school albums. If anyone else knows that'd be great too. I live on the coast of Central California, no great scrap stores nearby...

CONGRATS TO all the winners, such fun :)

Thank you so much, Becky, for coming up with these fabulous ideas for these kits. I have both the school years and the expansion kits, and I LOVE both of them.

I completely agree with previous posters that it would be awesome to be able to buy the clear plastic pockets plain. Other than the use they are intended for, I would use them to hold my own "page kits" that I put together to take when I go to crops.

Thank you again! You are such a fabulous designer and very inspiring.

OK, this is really funny . . . I just did these awesome silhouette pages of my girls (you should check them out -- they're fantastic!), and I displayed them today on my blog on my double-hinged clipboard! I love that clipboard!!

I've been playing with my kits all weekend.. the school and expansion. WOW! The value is amazing. I must say that I am using 2 expansion kits for 4 kids and it's perfect. If I have more kids; I have no doubt that I will still have leftover product from the expansion kit. It's a great value and I am more than pleased!

Becky, please don't make us wait for you to design more kits! I love your stuff. Can't wait to see if you do a baby album of some sort. I'd like to see you design a digital baby album for shutterfly too!

Thank you for wonderfully designed kit(s).

My 15 year old daughter, Lauren, is loving the school kit. She keeps laughing and running over and showing me school memories.

What a fantastic way to interact with our kids.

Now I just have to get my 11 year old son to participate :)

The expansion kit looks so great with all the different ways people are using it. Before I buy it, I'd really be interested in knowing what all comes in it for paper, specifically how much plain cardstock and how much pattern paper (and perhaps how much of the 'notebook' looking paper. The description on the order site is a little vague.

Thanks again for all the wonderful kits and ideas you've put out there for those of us who are creatively challenged!

Hi, Becky,

I just recently found out you have a blog and I've visited a few times. You're very inspirational and I love your style of scrapbooking (always have). I was writing to you to inquire about the KOTM Kits. I have 3 children that I would love to have these kits for. I didn't even know about them until coming to your blog and viewing the video about the expansion kit. I was wondering if there is any way I could get my hands on 3 kits or am I completely out of luck on this? I've looked on ebay already and there's just no way I could swing $100 per child, per kit. What do you recommend for someone who is VERY late in the game?

Again, thanks for inspiring all of us with your lovely work and organizational skills. May God bless you and yours!

I got the School Kit and the expansion kit - I see the three ring binder holes, probably a dumb question, but what brand binders do you use? I see the ETC pocket hooked into one with the Disney Page.

Thanks!
