tour the baby album

And now ... let's walk through this baby album. I want to share the concept & organization with you so it all makes sense. Like I said, this kit is so much more than a collection of pretty stuff. I truly see this as a solution for those who want to preserve baby's first year without being totally overwhelmed in the process.

PS - Bummer that this clip had to be such low quality, but it's longer so I had to sacrifice video quality to include everything I wanted to say.

Oh - If you happen to be jumping on my blog for the first time (or it's been a while), please be sure to scroll through all of my posts on this page so you are all up-to-date on information regarding this baby kit.

Becky,

This kit looks awesome! I am wondering if you think the kit would work for our adopted daughter? It seems like there is some pregnancy specific stuff... Please share your ideas on this.

Thanks, Beth

Becky,
Congratulations on the new arival! Crew is so beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing your great products and ideas. I just had my 6th baby in July and am still working on the 4th child's first year. I am so excited to get these kits for my last 2 boys! Hopefully this will help me get a little more caught up. I ordered one extra to have on hand for a baby gift.

Becky,
I can't tell you how amazed I am that you just had a baby and still took the time to give us such detailed videos of this kit! The school kits I bought are such a value and I LOVE the pockets. Everything you could possibly need is included and it appears this is the same! Thank you for making it so easy for us:)
Congratulations to you and your family.. Crew is beautiful. Friends of ours gave their son this name years ago and I haven't seen it used since. I love it!
I would love to see more kits like these in the future:)

best wishes,
Sarah

Hi Becky,
First of all, I want to compliment you on how good you look. I can't believe you just gave birth last week. Congrats again.
You really made this kit so easy to put together. I'm halfway done with my baby album but I feel like redoing everything. :) I'm glad you showed this video. I need two more kits as a gift and was thinking of giving your book from shutterfly but now I made up my mind. I think this is easy enough for them to do. I think they'll love this. Thank You.

God bless you, Becky! It's a new mother's dream come true. You can put the whole thing together before the baby even comes and then just fill in the info when he/she gets here. I love your "doable" approach to your kits. You just "get it". Congratulations to you on the arrival of Crew. He's a cutie!

Becky, Your kit is amazing. I just wish I hadn't already done my 3 boys babies books. I did get lucky however to get 3 of your school days kits. I love them and they are coming in handy. I have a 4th, 2nd and Preschooler. I just wanted to make a suggestion. How about a wedding kit. My husband and I got married 11 years ago. I haven't done our album because I don't want it to be fadish. I want it to be timeless. I know you have your hands full. I just thought when your ready to create something awesome again, maybe you would consider a wedding kit like the school and baby kit. p.s. my boys loved the pretzel hugs. Thanks Laura Parker, CO

Hi Becky, can't wait to get your kit. Thanks for taking time out
of busy schedule with 3 kids to
show us ideas. I agree with the
previous poster. Would love a
wedding album kit. I have seen
some, but would love something
done with your classic style.

This kit looks fantastic! My daughter is 6.5 and my son is 3.5 and I've never finished their baby books. This kit would give me the inspiration! Fantastic! You are so talented, Becky!

One question - could one kit be used for both kids? Or is there just enough for one album?

Ditto on the wedding kit! Even though my baby albums are completed, I love all of the details and organization you have put into this! I have a wedding album from the photographer but I have always wanted to put something together that truly tells our story in my own words so my children can read it later with all of the journaling and memorabilia pockets. Great job!!

I love the kit and am going to order two of them even though my girls are 14 and 18. I haven't done their baby albums so hopefully this will get me on the ball. I too would love a timeless wedding kit....PLEASE.

Thanks and rest some during this busy time.

You just had a baby and you're already back to work. AND, you have his baby album in order. I'm SO jealous and mine are 4 and 2.

This kit is AWESOME! I'm thinking of getting one for my sister-in-law and she's not even pregnant yet!

Get some well-deserved rest! Crew is ADORABLE!! And, I'm sure Porter and Claire are loving him and helping you out! :)

Take care and congrats!!

OMG...I can't believe how good you look since you only deliveried last week.

Thank you for taking the time out, too, of your busy schedule. I like that you have busy mom life, too. I think it is cute that Claire is whistling in the background and hearing your kids talking. Porter is a great help in being your videographer.

I pre-ordered the kit as soon as it came available. I really like the ideas of the kit. I tried and tried to work on our son's baby album, but get stuck in a rut. He is now 11 yrs old!!

Thank you for making the kit. I like the flexibilility of the kit pages so you can adjust them to what you have ( memorabilia ) since some of us have not had a baby in years.

Wow Becky! The kit looks great and you do too! Congrats on new baby boy Crew! I love the ease and flexibility of the kit, so great for new moms. This kit is perfect for me! I have a few questions. In some traditional type baby books (the kind you can get at Hallmark stores) they have pages like childhood illnessess, monthly growth chart, well baby check ups, dental chart, baby's favorite things, toys, books, etc. and baby's firsts. Do you do separate layouts for those or do you include that in the monthly layouts? Same goes for Christmas and other holiday memories, is that a layout all by itself or is that included in the month layout that Christmas would be for the baby? Like for Crew, will Christmas just be a layout spread all it's own or do you include it in his 3 month layout? I am trying to figure out how to include all those things since I like all that info and want it all in the album since it is all a part of the first year.
Thanks so much for any advice and again, Congrats! You are blessed with a sweet family! I look forward to some more pics/layouts of Crew! Kim

Becky -- Congrats on the beautiful new baby, and all the best to your family!! (Be careful....now you two parents are outnumbered!!) :)
I wanted to let you know that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the ideas behind this kit! I was already pretty sure I wanted to order it when I first heard about it, but your two videos REALLY helped to "seal the deal," as they really answered a lot of my specific questions. So thank you SO much for finding time to make the videos!! (I know you are just a little bit busy this week! LOL) After watching your videos, I just pre-ordered TWO kits! Now I can't wait for them to arrive! (I loved my School Years Kit, and School Expansion Pack also!)

I think Kim posted a great question above, and I would just like to second that, and ask for your advice on how to handle all the milestones of baby's first year that are not specifically noted in this kit. Maybe you can give us an idea of how you plan to record those things in Crew's album. (That is, if you have even had time to think about it yet)! Would those kinds of things go in this first-year album as separate layouts, as Kim asked, or would they be included in the monthly page as just a summary of the month. (Or would they go in a completely separate album?) I am thinking of things such as: First step, and other "firsts" as well as special occasions such as the first birthday party. I would love it if you could shine a little light on that for us.

Thanks a million! Hope you are getting some rest sometime!!

Congrats!!! Looking good. Beautiful baby.

I just resumed scrapbooking after 6 years away. WOW, have things changed. I loved your style then and now. Timeless and classic.

I am ordering 2 kits for my girls 12 and 17. I am going to suplement/semi-redo thier baby books. I do have a question on how you would deal with my lack of information in some areas, such as, the 1-31 calendar days on the back of the monthly journaling cards. Will the card fit on the monthly page so the back won't show? How adaptable would the kit be for us procrastinators?

Also, as for your organizing style. From the video of your album, it appears you have already cut and glued your pattern paper strips to your background paper. Nothing moved when you were showing us. Would you in general prep this way for a pre designed album, doing just a little of the work in advance when you set up your page protectors for a layout.

Just a note to other readers. Hospital bracelets are extremely, may I repeat extremely acidic. Protect them well and keep them away from anything you want saved. I learned this the hard way. Pockets are a great invention.

Thanks for a great product and blog.

Hi
I've never left a comment on your blog before.
I just watched this and I just have to say that I am so impressed at how well thought out and organized this is. You really thought about it and I can see all the time and thought you put into it.
My kids are older (13 yr old girl and boy/girl twins that are 7) and their books are done, so I don't need the kit (did get a few school ones). I wish this was around when they were little.
Have you thought about doing a vacation album like this? I love the organization of it all- it would be great for a trip, we were in Europe this summer and something like this would just snap that book together fast- I love all the journaling prompts etc. There is so much emphasis in the scrapbooking "world" on the creative part of scrapbooking that I think the "plan" and "organizaional" part is getting lost--
Sorry this is so long- anyway- you've really found your calling in life- great job!

Thanks for making life a little bit easier on busy moms!

I love the prompts on the journaling cards. I struggle with "what to write" ALL the time. That alone is worth it to me! I love how flexible the kit is to make it your own, but so simple that it won't stress you out. This is exactly what I've been looking for! I knew it would be (which is why I pre-ordered).

I can't wait to see your next kit. I don't need a wedding one since that was the very 1st scrapbook I did. :) But, I'm sure I'd buy just about any kit you put together!

Keep up the great work!

This is a fabulous kit and wish it had of been available for my daughter 20 months ago. Just a quick question about this and about another of you kits, the school expansion kit, do you know how much it weighs to ship? Im international, it gives the rates per weight but I cant find how much each kit weighs? can you point me in the right direction. I cant find anytihng on the Ck site or the KOTM site.

That video sealed the deal- I purchased 2 kits- one for my almost-2 year-old boy and for the next one...whenever he/she comes! I, too, was thinking about getting the Shutterfly book you created instead but I needed something that I could finish when I go to the CKC at the end of October. This will be great!!!
(And you do look great! And I'd love if you designed a wedding kit with all that spare time you have...;))

Thanks you!
