weekend project

One of my favorite things ever, is doing projects around the house with David. Several projects have been on hold while I was pregnant (didn't feel so hot, I was always tired, and moving around was a bit more difficult).

So this weekend, we tackled the office. It was so great working with David, and it felt peachy to check this one off the list.

This is what we call the "cube wall". My Cropper Hopper cubes (they may be discontinued now, sorry) used to be configured like this: 6 wide & 4 tall. Inefficient use of space AND the top would just collect junk. Not pretty. So now it's 4 wide & 6 tall (a step stool is handy) and I have space for my red chair in the office again! Plus, we bolted every cube to each other and screwed the entire unit to the wall. These cubes aren't going anywhere.

Love the new room. Can you tell me a little more about your scrapbookroom? What is the size of the room? What color counter tops are on your cabinets. Can you also give some info about you cabinets layout? Hope I am not asking to much.

It looks fabulously organized! I have the Crop-n-style cubes stacked up 5 high and 3 wide...I didn't dare go any higher than that...but maybe one more level? hmmm. I love the cropper hopper cubes...they look like they are wider than the crop-n-style because I can only fit 5 paper holders vs croppers 6.oh well.
It looks great! And what a comfy looking chair! Love the color red too.

I know your room has been in Creating Keepsakes before but can you post more pics and give us specs on your cabinets, counter tops, etc. Did you and hubby install the cabinets, order from Home Depot or Lowes, etc? I need to overhaul my room and I want black cabinets!

Thanks for sharing - Laura

Love the way it turned out! I love reorganizing things too. I just redid some of the things in our computer room to make it look less cluttered & what a difference. Except now my Dh started working on one of the projects that has been on his list & we have several torn apart computers sitting in a heap on the floor waiting to put one of them together for the kids to use.

Hi Becky,

I know this is a late post on this topic... but I just had to write and say thank you for sharing! I love the look and organization, way better than my current shelves. And after showing it to my hubby, he gave me the go ahead to order my "boxes" as he put it. He started typing on here "this is a husband and you need to quit showing my wife all of the ideas!" Until I told him I needed to log on for the post to go on here. He deleted it saying he wanted it to be an anonymous one! Ha!

Wish the Cropper Hopper ones were still available since they look to hold 6 paper holders. I have 20 of the Store in Style ones on order and hopefully arriving in a few days so I can get my room better organized!

Thanks again!
Pam
