reminiscing

Just came across this picture that my brother, Kevin, took about 4 years ago. As a family, we were all "home" in Maryland, and it was just a gorgeous time to be there. Reminds me of every Fall growing up and how much I love the seasonal change. So I imagine this is just what it's probably starting to look like there. Or it will very soon.
Thinking about lower temperatures, changing leaves, cool breezes, and the smell that Fall brings. Maybe I can get my parents to bring me some leaves when they come to visit us here in the desert later this month. : )

My best friend recently moved to AZ from her in OR and I keep thinking how weird it must be to not have "fall" like she's used to here in Oregon. Maybe I should mail you both some leaves!
Oh what a beautiful photo! I live in the South, we don't have seasons here. :(
Of course dad and I would LOVE to bring some leaves to you when we come in a few weeks!!! It is getting close to what you show in the picture now. You would LOVE it!! We can't wait to see everyone and especially little Crew!!
Love to all.......Mom and Dad
Ever heartwarming, mom reading her daughters blog.... and obviously hasn't met her newest little grandson... we wish you the VERY best visit.
PS... The leaves are starting to look like that here too... like the colors... but not the cold that comes after that! The desert sounds just fine to me!
I went to college in Hawaii and was missing the fall leaves. My sweet Mom did mail me leaves. There is such a distinct smell to them! I saved that baggie on my bulletin board for months!
I crave seasonal change somehow as a comfort to me and yet have always lived in California where our seasons are "light"...recently I've tried to get me husband to consider moving somewhere like New England-ish (he's a chef) but no avail.... 4th generation San Franciscian won't consider it. So...I'll just wait til the day the kids (5) are a little older and make an annual trek to Fall!
Maryland sounds lovely, how sweet of your mom to post your blog....darling!
Looking forward to more post on CCs ;)
My favorite season is by far fall! The crazy amount of snow that comes afterwards is something to be desired but there is nothing better than decorating my front porch and putting sweaters on to be outside..I love it and I wouldn't trade it for anything!!
Have a wonderful visit with your mom, reading her post makes me miss my mom and makes me wish she lived closer as well.

We swapped lives - I grew up in Mesa, but have lived my adult life in Maryland. It is starting to change colors now! Ironically, during the peak of it, I will be in....the desert.
Here is a fall treat idea for you - Remember the Pretzel Hug recipe from December 2007? Hershey is now making kisses that are Caramel Apple and Pumpkin. They are fantastic alone, but I am going to try them as Pretzel Hugs for some "We are thankful for you" type Thanksgiving treats. Just a thought! Happy Autumn!
Love the picture Becky!! It is really pretty. The leaves are starting to change here in Nashville,Tennessee too.

That photo looks a lot like it does here in Minnesota right now. So beautiful! I just did a blog with photos so check it out if you want to see more fall. www.goshery.blogspot.com
Thank you for sharing your wonderful picture. It is relaxing for me to read your blog and your previous posts as well considering all the bad news that's out there right now. I wish there's a way to just put your blog as my homepage. LOL. Anyway, I LOVE fall.We just went apple picking in Michigan and visited a pumpkin patch last weekend and my kids had a blast. I cannot wait to light up the fireplace and roast marshmallows too.
How sweet to see that your mom reads your blog!! Hope you all have a wonderful visit later on in the month!!
In NJ the leaves haven't changed quite yet - perhaps in a couple weeks...can't wait!
Fall is my favoriate season. I cant wait until I can't wear sweaters. The only thing I don't like about when it starts to get cold is that it is great all the way until Janurary and then I am done. I am ready for Spring. So I enjoy Fall as much as I can before Winter hits.
Beautiful photo. I haven't ever thought about the season's not changing in AZ. I'm glad to see the colorful leafs in Belgium. My favoirte are red and yellow ones. I hope you enjoy your upcoming visit with your parents. It was sweet to see your mom's comment.
p.s. I wanted to ask you if you print matt or glossy photos.
Also how do you get those sticker letters on so straignt?
Have a great day!
I was waiting at my daughters dance class last week and a little preschooler was doing his homework. He was taking a pole on what our favorite season was. Fall was the winner by far.
What a great picture, thanks for reminding us of things to be thankful for.

It is just starting to get colorful here in Maryland. Another week or so and the colors will be vibrant! It is truly beautiful out here!
We have just past our "peak" here in northern Maine. The temperatures have fallen a bit and we can definitely feel "winter" coming.
I'm sure you will do something with Fall leaves in a scrapbook page??! :)
So why does Kerri Bradford's blog have your Christmas card preview but you haven't posted? It looks awesome for those that want to check it out. The gift tags look great!
Beautiful picture!!! I just LOVE fall colors , but not cold weather!!!
Have a nice day

Really beautiful picture! I love fall. It is so colorful.
I also wanted to thank you for the Baby KTOM. I just received it in the mail. You should have seen me jumping with joy. This is my first time trying KTOM and I am so impressed with the overall quality. All the scrapbook pages and accesories that go with it are so organized. I simply loved it. Thank you Becky very much for the awesome kit.
Have a great weekend!
Yes, the colors of the leaves are changing. How sad that you don't get to enjoy them!

Becky Can you tell me where you found the double clip board for the THANKS you did for your 12th Anniversary? It was in your July 2007 Post. I am celebrating my 21st Anniversary on October.24th and I am looking for something special to do. Also I wanted to ask I seen where CKU was going to be in Nashville May.27th - 30th,2009. At Gaylord Opryland and I live just down the street from there and interested in attending so How do I go about it this is my first time? One last question the shower.com is it the Classic 12X12 Ring leather binder albums you buy? Also the 12X12 Page Protectors? Thanks Becky!!!

What a beautiful picture. I grew up in Ohio but now live in the desert too; Las Vegas. Though I do have some fond memories of the change of seasons growing up, I much prefer the desert! I am always cold, my feet turn purple even in August, except here in Vegas where I can actually wear sandals in the summer.
I do miss the change of seasons for my kids, I want them to have some wonderful childhood memories like you mentioned, so I have had to come up with new ways to celebrate the seasons. It is beginning to cool off in AZ and NV it just is not as dramatic as back east. You might want to think of taking a day or weekend trip (maybe in a year or two when Crew is older) to Flagstaff, they have a nice change of seasons. You could do some hiking at Sedona which could be a fun tradition for the fall. And do not forget in the winter they have the Polar Express on the Grand Canyon railroad. My kids love to go to that!!! And it is very cold and snowy at that time of year.
Have a wonderful visit with your parents and enjoy this special time with your new little boy, they grow up so fast!

Oh this picture brings a smile to my face. It reminds me of fall when I used to call New England home. I miss the change of seasons so much.

Sorry about the deleted comment - that was me. Thank you for sharing the beautiful picture. I love when the temperature lowers and everything gets drawn toward the shelter of home. There's no place I would rather be.
Becky, I was wondering about the baby kit, I pre-ordered it on Sept. 16th and have not received a notification of shipping or charge. The website said it would begin shipping on Oct. 11th. I was just wondering if you could point me to the right direction. My order ID is 1221595189.084985. Thanks.

What a great picture...it's starting to peak here in Michigan. I would definitely miss having 4 seasons!
This may help Janessa. I called the CK to find out why I hadn't been charged yet and they told me that pre-orders don't ship until November 1st. So I guess I'll wait and see?!?
