baby scrapbooking

For those of you who missed this earlier ... there is a digital version of my baby kit. You can go here for the scoop and to create your own digital baby book in the land of Shutterfly. And I also wrote an online article (click here) that walks you through the photo book project, layout by layout. I share tips and insights to help you along.

Speaking of baby scrapbooking, check out Jessica Turner's blog today. She has a great video clip showing how she has put her son's album together so far ... and a cute little accent and, AND ... she has one of my baby kits to give away! So head over and enter your name in that drawing.

Becky,
I am at work at 3 a.m. reading my CK magazine and I LOVED the January Kit of the month! I love the idea of the 365 Project and I was wondering if you could give us a little more detail about the kit. Is there enough in the kit to complete the entire years worth of weeks? If you have some extra time I would really like to know more about it! Thanks!

Just thought you should know, I preordered two of the christmas card kits and never received them. I contacted customer service twice and emailed them about this and I have never heard back from them.

Hi. Just wanted to ask a quick question, but of no relation to this post.
Was given by a friend a bundle of old CK mags, and loved the article about your "Snapshot of Me" album. I downloaded the download on the CK website, but was upset that the year tag is still dated 2007. My question is, is there anyway to change that date tag, or how am i able to make a new tag, making sure colours/fonts match.
Would be great if you could help, or know someone who couls, as i am really wanting to do some scrapping that focuses on me. It would be nice for my children to look back on in tears to come.
Many thanks, Joanne.

I just received your baby kit and I just love it. I was wondering if there is a way to order more of your 12x12 acetate keepsake envelopes that say Stuff, Misc and Cards? I love them and would like more. Can you please email me the information at chenifer99@hotmail.com. Thanks

Hi Becky,
I have a quick and easy recipe for you to add to your arsenal of yummy eats. I have enjoyed many of your recipes and wanted to return the favor. This is great for christmas gifts!
Almond Butter Toffee
1 stick of butter, real butter
1 cup of sugar
1/4 cup of water
pinch of salt
1/4 cup of sliced almonds
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
In a large (2qt) measuring cup (I have a pampered chef one) place stick of butter in bottom of bowl. Wipe the butter wrapper along the edge of the bowl to keep the contents from boiling over. Pour sugar, water and salt directly over the butter. Microwave on high for 7 minutes. Continue adding time in 30 second intervals until the mixture is golden brown. Meanwhile, grease a metal cookie pan with butter. Scatter almonds on top. Pour hot sugar/butter mixture on top. (do not scrape bowl, this will cause the toffee to crystalize) Let cool for a few minutes. Then top with chocolate chips. Spread chocolate evenly over the top of the cooling toffee. Place in refrigerator and cool for at least 30 minutes. Break toffee into pieces.

Hey Becky!

Got the Jan. CK and went directly to your sketch section (great as usual!), and can't wait to use it! AND the Jan. KOTM month looks amazing! The idea is great and with being in the middle of building a new home, the idea is SUCH a great way to document all the stages of the construction, to my boyfriend and I moving in and living together in our new home! Went to CK.com, though, and cannot find any info on your kit. Was wondering if you can give some info about the kit so I can get clicking on Jan. 1st to order! Thanks so much!

I haven't received my Jan CK yet, so maybe the web posting ya'll are looking for will be a little later, when everyone receives their magazine. I'm completely in the dark, but can't wait to see what you are all excited about!

Becky, Just letting you know that I pre-ordered the baby kit back in September, I still have not received it. I have emailed customer service twice with no response. Is it still available? I have tried re-ordering it with no luck (I originaly only ordered 1 kit and now i would like 2 kits). I am very disapointed, and I know you are busy but I am hoping you can help...

Could some of you savy scrappers tell me why size Xyron you find most helpful? I have the little "X" sticker maker. But, I'm reading that Xyron is a good way to adhere chipboard (such as baby kit frames). Do I need 9" machine, 8 1/2" machine, 5" machine???? Or what do you find works well on chipboard?
thanks so much for your replies - and of course I'd love your opinion, Becky, if you have the time. I don't know how you "make the rounds" now.

I took a no-more-scrap-supply pledge for a year because I have so much and so rarely get to scrap (with 3 little boys). But I love your kit, and it gives me hope that my 9 month old will actually have a baby album:-)

Is there any chance that Shutterfly would eventually offer pages seperately from the album? I saw that they have predesigned pages by Lisa B. I want my son's album to have the textile feel of paper scrapping but some pages, especially your Family Tree layout, would be made SO much easier by your kit (not having to cut/paste/crop old photos).

Please let us know if they make that available. Also, I don't see a boy/girl option as your paper kit offered (by having double sided paper). Does the digi kit use the same patterned paper?

Thanks!
