This is BIG.

Oh ye people who tune into my blog. I have an announcement: As a scrapbooker of 15 years, I am no longer scrapbooking our family albums. Am I done with scrapbooking? Absolutely not. I will continue to do individual & personal scrapbooks for each of our 3 kids. But I am taking a whole new approach to preserving our family's memories, beginning on January 1st.

So what is it that I'm doing, you may wonder. I would LOVE to tell you, because this is something I'm so excited about, and I want YOU to join me. See this? This is called Project 365 and it's the January kit of the month. (Project 365 is not on the web site yet.)

While the end result is a "scrapbook", this is not about decorating and designing pages. Heck, you're not even going to need to use adhesive for this! Project 365 is about 2 things: Photographs. And journaling. (And not even that much journaling! Quick notes & anecdotes.) This project will be the absolute, very best representation of your family's life (or your personal life) in 2009. Hands down. And the best part? It's so easy! Trust me.

So much more to share, and I can't wait! So keep checking my blog all week for updates & more about this concept and this project. Project 365 goes on sale January 1. Until then, let's enjoy the holidays and get excited for our new, revolutionary way of "scrapbooking" in 2009. Are you with me? :)

---

By the way ... Are you a blogger? THIS is something you need to check out. Go to bloggled.com and learn about what they can do for you. They're doing a huge promotion right now and you can be eligible to win something really cool ... like a Cricut machine or, HELLO -- an iPod Touch. I love my iPod Touch. NOT a blogger? You can still head over and be eligible to win, so that's cool. Oh - and you need to enter TODAY.

In short, there are two cool services that they can offer: backing up your blog (it's too easy to accidentally delete your blog) and ... this is what I'm really stoked about ... they can make a book out of your blog for you. LOVE that. Can't wait to try it myself. I think this is especially cool if you keep an ongoing journal-style blog about your family's life. Wouldn't that be need to have it in book form? And also give copies of this to your kids or other family members? Yeah. Super cool. Anyway, head over to Bloggled and learn more.

I saw this in the Jan CK and being a 365'er it should be perfect for me, but I take 90+% of my pictures in portrait and it sure looked from the pics in the mag like the kit only accommodates landscape pictures? If I'm wrong PLEASE tell me so because otherwise I'd certainly LOVE it...

This looks awesome! Just a question...Is the kit a template and then you can base future years off of it or do you need a kit a year? (That would be a lot of kits!!)

Looks like a really cool kit! I considered doing 365 last year, but I didn't. Now that I have a way to scrap it, I just may do it this year.

For those who take mostly vertical (portrait format) instead of horizontal (landscape), could we just rotate the pages 90 degrees and scrap our stuff on it that way?

Thanks for all the cool kits you've designed. I have them all, and tonight I've been furiously assembling Christmas cards!

I got very very excited when I saw this kit in the CK Mag. I am DEFINITELY ordering this. I love the mostly picture and journaling concept which I am already doing in the December Daily project by Ali Edwards and would love to continue throughout 2009. Thank You Becky for this brilliant kit.

Waiting for January 1 to arrive is going to be torture!! I can't wait to get my hands on this kit and get started. I have been keeping a daily calendar / journal of family events and my kids' milestones for the last 5 years and this will be a perfect solution for getting all that info into a scrapbook. Oh, I just can't stand the wait! I may have to get more than 1.

Love your organized ideas, Becky.
Q: Do you have specific ideas of how you could modify this kit for a month by month approach?
Q: Any good suggestions for storing photos for the 365 project? Do you just keep weekly folders by date?

You know what stinks about this though Becky; it's a kit of the month. So if we want to have another set of page protectors like the ones you've designed we won't be able to buy them in a year. There is no way I can order two, three, four sets at a time for the month of Jan. Is there anyway we will be able to order this again next year or is it gone when it's gone?

Hi Becky-

I love the idea of this kit!!!! I live in Alaska and found out when trying to order the December KOTM that shipping to AK went up dramatically through Creative Keepsakes. I was very saddened as that made it not feasible to order the KOTM anymore...shipping was going to be an additional 80% of the cost of the product. Do you have any suggestions on who I might be able to contact about this...USPS will ship ground to AK for not much. Any assistance to this would be greatly appreciated....I love the KOTM's and have been a faithful buyer of them.

Oooh, you scared me there for a minute with your opening statement. LOL I saw your example in CK and actually wondered if you would be able to do the 365 project AND other albums. You are a much faster scrapper than me though so I think your production level is probably pretty high.

I love the idea of this. I think it will go over well. I would love to hear about your scrapping now - how often you do it and how many pages you get done a month, etc.

Questions about the 365 kit:
1) what will the cost be?
2) will you be taking pre-orders?
HOW exciting!
thanks!

I have been busy doing the 366 project this year and have loved it. Just taking photos of our everyday lives and then making a double page layout with all the details, you can check it out here

http://littleowlhoothoot.typepad.com/this_is_how_it_is/2008/09/alis-weekend-creative---grids.html

It has been a great way to record our year and scrapbook photos I would not normally scrapbook, loving all the little details.

I was wondering if I would do it again next year and after having a look at this kit probably will ($$??). Looks quick and easy, gotta love that!! Thanks Becky for another great kit.

The new kit looks interesting!

BTW, www.blogged.com only works with Google accounts for now. It says they are working on getting it to work with other services.

There is another printing service at www.blurb.com where you can print your blog. I've done it the last two years and am getting ready to publish the third year at the end of the month. They do an awesome job and it's easy!

I saw this in the magazine and am totally excited to try it! I went immediately to the CK Kits website and was disappointed that it wasn't already for sale, so that I could actually start it (especially the journalling) January 1-- so the timing could have been a bit better, in my opinion! But otherwise, it looks great. I had been trying to figure out what to do next year. I know much of my scrapping attention will be devoted to baby scrapping (currently pregnant with twins) and wasn't sure what to do with my regular annual scrapbook-- and this seems like the perfect solution.

Yea! I have the school kits for my three kiddos and immediately thought "this is the missing piece" when I saw this project. I hope this is a HUGE success and that something similar comes along EVERY January! This really seems like a great solution for many of us. I can't wait to photograph all those everyday moments that I've been meaning to for way to long now. Thanks a million!
