tuesday's picture

Went to the mall with all 3 kids (no David) yesterday. First time I've done that since Crew was born in September. It's also kind of rare to find me in a mall in the first place. I just don't make it there much. Thank goodness my camera was with me. It goes with me everywhere. I just keep it in my bag (a.k.a. the Mother Ship). If you're not in that habit already, you will be ... starting now. Some of your best pictures will be because your camera happens to be with you when you're out & about.

Another day. Another picture. Another piece of my personal Project 365. I am loving this.

Added comment: The camera that I carry in my bag is the Canon Powershot SD900. My bag is called the MotherShip.

Thanks,

I was just wondering if you just carry a small point and shoot with you or what kind of camera you carry around. Since my camera is so big it is hard to take everywhere with me, but maybe I just need to get in the habit of doing it.

Hopefully it continues to be exciting even when I go back to work next week. :) Thanks so much for sharing this great idea. Do you know if there are any limits on the number of kits that will be available for sale tomorrow? I am just worried that I won't get to order it in time.

Hi Becky! The picture above is adorable. I'm having so much fun with this already. Can't wait to get the kit. Just wondering if you're still planning to do a Q & A post before the kits come out tomorrow. I have the same questions that many others have asked so I won't repeat them here, but I would love to know some of the answers before the kits go on sale. I know you're a busy mom of three though so pressure. Have a great day!!!

As a Mom of three girls under 4.5 years, I have stumbled into your world of scrapbooking methods and ideas. I am IN LOVE with Project 365. It will be the most fantastic way to capture the nuances of each of the girl's gigantic developments this year. As I am sure you know, there are moments that "disappear" if not caught on film and put down in a journal!! This way I will have both together.

I often talk to my husband about how to capture "a day in the life" for posterity for my girls. I am thrilled to start this project!

Mommy to Emma Rita, Katherine and Ysabel; two siamese cats (and maybe another baby in 2009!!) Obviously, I can use all the organizational help I can get :)

Wedding gift. They can make it the first 365 days of their marriage.

How great would that be?

You are a brave, brave woman. It is crazy here when I go to the mall with just my two ages 3 years and 4 months. But they have an indoor play area for those rainy days that make it worth the trip. I am starting offically tomorrow, but i have been taking a picture a day for a few weeks to practice. Thanks for sharing your pictures. I love them and it is really helping me get the idea.

I carry the same camera in my diaperbag...well, I went back to a purse, but I still carry all the diaper and snack essentials--plus my camera!

My husband my be even more excited than me...HE put the time in the calendar to buy it! HE is thrilled to document a year in our lives--the good, the bad, and mundane, the funny, the US. It is indeed a family project. (But he also found fun & excitement in sewing our Christmas cards last year!--He's a trip!)

I just have to admit that I'm fearful this is going to sell out before we get one.

Okay so a question on a slightly different note -- I have a similar camera (SD 990) and cannot find a suitable case for it
What type of a case do you have for protecting your camera? Is it hard / soft shell? Does it have a shoulder strap?

I just got the camera from "Santa" and want to be sure its protected as I carry it around daily for project 365!

(BTW I still hope you give a kit away to someone overseas -- shipping for them is outrageous!)
