alternatives to Project 365
Many of you have been sharing your ideas of how you're going to approach Project 365 without the kit. One obvious choice is to do it completely digital. There are a LOT of online services that offer photo storage & organization, blogs, etc. Remember the "blog to book" concept I mentioned a while back? Check out Bloggled.com for more information. Some of you have mentioned ShutterCal as an option; that looks cool too.
If you have other great online resources that you're using for Project 365, please share in the Comments for others to see.
Jessica Turner blogged about her alternative solution here. Jessica is in good company, as I'm noticing so many of you taking a similar approach: You are purchasing the divided page protectors to slip in your 4" x 6" photos and getting pre-designed 4" x 6" journaling cards for your daily notes. She includes some helpful links on her blog.
If you have good resources (especially online) for purchasing divided page protectors, share that with us in the Comments, too! Any other alternatives? Could you share something that will benefit others to know about? Let us know! (If you shared an idea or approach in an older post, you may want to post your comment again here.)
So this post's comments are dedicated to idea-sharing. Have at it! This just may get the wheels in your head turning.
NOTE: We also have another possible solution that you'll want to hear about. Just fine-tuning some details and will be in touch very soon with that.

A monthly kit club company, www.scrap-room.com, has come out with a stamp set that they will be selling soon that you could use to do a version of Project 365. They said it would be listed on their "specials" page of their website shortly. You can find more information on their message board.
Question on 365....any ideas on what to do with the first half layout(1st page) of the album? Your thoughts, Becky??
An idea I have had is to somehow make some cards to list books and movies that I've read. Maybe even a spot to say how I liked it or to rate it. These could be slipped behind the journaling blocks or behind the pictures. It would be awesome to find some free downloads that give us more options for journaling different types of activities.

On my blog I talk about the I Remember When page protectors - they offer pages that let you do a 12x12 layout on one side and 6 4x6 photos on the other. I am getting a pack of these for my front and back covers.
(my blog is linked in Becky's post)
Hi there...
I actually did the 365+1 project last year...and used a planner for my book. you can see some of it on my blog...I am actually in the process of finishing it up...but here is a link to the post back last February:
http://dancinglydenise.typepad.com/a_day_in_my_life/2008/02/i-made-this.html
If that doesn't work for you got to my blog and go to February 3, 2008...

I'm just wondering (before I try a different approach) if the original kits will ever be available again and if so, when?
If you're not up to taking a picture every day, you could get the Little Stories KOTM and highlight each month (there's 12 books).
Also Wolfcamera.com or (ritzcamera) has Pebbles journaling pads and 4x6 creative pads at 20% off. I just looked at them and they are really cute and the Share and Tell album is really nice too. Hobby lobby carries the divided protectors, which I use my 40% off coupon.
(Sandy Bones- Becky Dec 31 post has some good ideas for your first and last page for your kit)
Weeds and Wildflowers is offering a digital kit in their shop. It's really cute and the kit is split into different elements so you can buy them to supplement an alternative you are already doing. Also, the elements are 20% off right now and the entire kit is 30% off. :-D
http://weedsandwildflowersdesign.com/shoppe/
I plan to adhere my photos and journaling cards to 12X12 pages using the kit as a sketch. Hope that makes since. I'll be posting on my blog, but haven't quite finished.
I posted my approach on your post the other day asking for links, and since then have had several people ask questions about it. I thought I'd link my Q&A post here since it has more specific information.

Becky, this is an awesome project, and kit or no kit it's going to be a great adventure. Thank you for sharing it with all of us.
designerdigitals.com has several templates for 365 projects. And they're cheap!
I got a P365, but there are some VERY creative solutions being offered on the CK message board (CreatingKeepsakes.com/community), many with pics included! 2PeasinaBucket has several digital kits geared toward this, also.
I will say, since it was delivered yesterday, I am having so much fun with my kit. The kit arrived in good form on the day planned. It feels GREAT to have 2 full spreads almost done...two weeks of our lives...at a glance.
One thing, however: I ordered ONE, received TWO, but have been charged for THREE. Still working on that.
This post has been removed by the author.
I got 4x6 sheet protectors from close to my heart and going to use that. Here is my website you get them from www.melindabrown.myctmh.com
Now I just have to remember and do the pictures. I have a feeling I will be doing the month thing too.
Archivers sells their own brands of 4x6 dividers in 12x12 page protectors. They are good quality and they fit very well into the American Crafts 3 ringed binder. I had thought of that but I was able to get the kit.
I received my kit yesterday! I put a lot of it together while watching Lisptick Jungle last night. Great job on the design, I love the papers and patterns. I'll be deploying soon, so I'll need to think of a way to stay on top of it while I'm away.
I've got some ideas on how i'm going to re-create some of the elements from the the kit such as the monthly dividers, designer cards. http://scrappy-habits.blogspot.com/
I purchased We R Memories's 12x12 page protectors in a 6 up 4x6 format from scrapbook.com and will be using journaling cards I downloaded from an online site to do my project.
I just bought all my supplies from Hobby Lobby today (using 40% off coupon). Got 12x12 3-ring (d-ring) album, 4x6 photo pages (6 photos per page), 12x12 page protectors (one for each month as dividers), a packet of 12x12 paper (use for month pages & cutting some to use as journaling backgrounds). I'm going to type the journaling & cut & glue onto the patterned *journaling backgrounds*. I think I'm also going to digitally add the date and/or day of the week onto my pictures before I print them out. So, I have to do a little extra work than the already pre-cut items in the kit. Oh well. I'm really excited about this project!!!
I've already posted some of my pics here:
http://andrea-project365.blogspot.com
Thanks Becky for the amazing ideas! And everyone else for jumping in with do-it-yourself ideas too!!!! YIppeeee!!
Yish. I just typed out a long comment and somehow it got lost. Oh well!
I was planning on using the 6-up page protectors as well, but then I realized it would be better for me to use what I already have. And although I am moving away from it now, I still have lots of creative memories strap-hinge pages. So I thought I would just use the page protector-type idea, and paste the photos directly to the pages in the same type of "pattern". I can fill in the extra spaces with 4x6 patterned paper, journaling directly on the paper or if the paper is too "busy", using it as a mat and writing on white paper on top of it. I also plan on cutting the 4x6 papers in half so I can have more journaling spots, like in the kit how there are 8 slots in the page protectors across the bottom. I can also use stickers, rubons, etc that I already have, even across multiple photos. The only thing I would like to buy are some days of the week and date stamps or stickers.
I started writing my daily stories and quotes on page a day calendar sheets (the kind you rip off each day) and also bought some pads of paper from Barnes and Noble with days of the week on them ( I think these were meant for lists of things to do or weekly meal planners but they work for taking daily notes). I love this idea -it really makes you tune in to the little things in life and appreicate them. I love journaling too. I try to think of a pen and piece of paper being like a camera and try to capture quotes and stories as they happen-you forget so quickly. Please let us know if you will be publishing more kits! -Amy Jones
When I did a daily photo project last year, I made a hard cover 6x6 book for each month. I made them books super simple, with one photo and a little journaling on each page. This time, I will do the same kit layout on regular 12x12 pages. It would be nice to have the kit, but...
I also just started using ShutterCal, and like it very much!
I was fortunate enough to receive a kit.
Last year I did the Project 365 on my own and just used Target 4X6 pocket albums, slipped in the photo, printed the journal for the day off, cut it to size, stapled a ribbon tag on it (that matched the season), put a date and slipped the journaling behind the photo. Worked great, and I love that I have an album done and simple that the kids can actually look at!
I did receive the kit and have a couple ideas for that:
a. I gave my son one of the journaling blocks, but told him to turn it over and draw a picture (he was designing skateboards so now I have a miniature version that fits perfectly. I had him sign it and stuck it in this week's slots.
b. Have your kids do some journaling in their handwriting.
c. Have your older kids do a week of what they want to remember and journal as a guest journaler.
d. The cool thing about this kit is it is portable. I stuck in a black pen into the boxes and can take it with me where ever we go, to keep the stories going. This also keeps it in front of everyone to look at.
e. Once a month photo of the entire family. Make sure that is happening each month.
f. Once a month photo of all the kids together in their Sunday Best! How often do we see them looking so precious!
g. I am adding the Bible Verse we are memorizing for each week to the album.
h. And of course emblishing things a tad. I would love to see how others are adding their personal touches. Is there a place where people will be sharing what they are doing with the kit?
Acey & Sarah,
There is a Yahoo Group formed for this project - You can find it here:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CKproject365/
There are more and more layouts all the time for doing P365 all digitally. There are several DesignerDigitals tempaltes---this link has discussion on those:
http://www.designerdigitals.com/ddmsb/tags.php?tag=365+project
(plus two VERY cute 25-cent items thru Sunday!)
A super-easy photo calendar monthly way to do it (you'd just have 12 layouts to get printed! cool!) is here by Ali Edwards:
http://www.designerdigitals.com/ecom/product_info.php/products_id/5931
Also, a free digi kit here:
http://www.scrapbookgraphics.com/wordpress/?cat=121
And here:
http://linaslayouts.blogspot.com/
I'm hopefully doing Becky's kit (supposed to come 4-6 weeks) this year but may just do it all digital next year. =)
And here is another great 365 Yahoo group...
project365florida@yahoogroups.com
I also am just wondering if you know if they will be coming up with more kits... for the time being, I'm taking my daily pictures and writting down the events of the day on a nice little journal I just bought for the occasion... I would prefer to have your kit, though!!! (See? I told you I was becoming kind of a fan!)
God Bless!
I got the page protectors that are divided with 4x6 pockets here http://www.ritzcamera.com/product/EP49762145.htm. They are having a sale in January 20% off all scrapbooking supplies. 10 of these protectors are $5.59. Their We R Memory albums that Becky uses are on sale too!! I plan on doing 6 pictures a week - M - F and then weekend. I've been taking my photos and writing my journaling. I ordered the protectors on January 6th and received them yesterday!!
Hello! It occurred to me that I've gone over to the bad place about this project when I woke up this morning and my first thought was about the journaling blocks. :)
First -- Becky, I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you are offering your blog as a place for us to share ideas for a DIY-P365. It sounds as if there may very well be another go round of kits from CK, and that you are still encouraging us to do our own thing at the possible expense of your employer is pretty darn cool to me.
Anyhoo -- I know this is going to get long, please bear with me and I hope there's something useful for y'all.
1. Protectors: I got the protectors that have 6 4x6 dividers on each side. I got the Pebble's Inc ones as well as the We R Memory Keeper ones -- the only difference I can tell is that one is side load, and one is top load (don't remember which is which).
2. Journaling: I also bought the 4x6 Share and Tell journal cards, with the intent to cut them in half for journaling for some days. I have also created a M/S Word file of 3x6 text blocks for when I want to use the computer (and I also downloaded Becky's handwriting font for that, because I love it). I intend to adhere these to a piece of scrap 4x6, as opposed to sewing the pages.
3. Album. I bought a 12x12 D-Ring from AC Moore with a 50% off coupon. It's red linen, and I think it's by We R Memory Keepers. I briefly considered using one of the post albums I already have...and haven't completely ruled it out. But I've never used a D-Ring album before...curious.
4. Other stuff. There's a company called Boxer Scrapbooks who has been selling calendar kits for a while (I found a sticker sheet in my stash from a bit ago). I ordered from them enough sticker sheets to have days of the week -- and I also got a calendar sticker sheet 12 sets of 1-31 stickers. I cut 1/2" circles from my cricut and am adhering the number stickers to those (January's circles were white, Feb's red, etc.) I am going to put those on my pictures, and plan to use the days of the week stickers on the journal blocks.
The last thing -- I'm going to try to create a 12x12 layout for each month, and either put it in a 12x12 protector, or slice that baby into 6 parts for a 6-up protector.
I'm sure there's something I've forgotten as in my mind I don't think this has come completely together yet, but that's the basics of mine.
Oh...one last LAST thing, which I had been meaning to mention, but saw that Jessica is doing it too -- several years ago, during a hard time in my life, I started a gratitude journal. Every night before bed, I wrote down 5 things I was thankful for -- that was 8 years ago and I still have that as a keepsake. Since I'm journaling daily with this project, I always end with 2 things I'm grateful for...it's a great way to keep things in perspective.
Okay, I'm sorry...I wrote another book. Best wishes everyone!
Becky could you let us know if they are still looking into ordering more kits or not. I still really want one even if I don't get it for months. If not I will go ahead on my own but I don't want to start one on my own and then hear that I will be able to get a kit. I understand that you might not know yet but if it is a no go for sure then I would appreciate just knowing that. Thanks.
Hey, does anyone had any ideas what you are going to do if you miss a day? I just know in 365 days... I am bound to miss a few.
Thanks for the idea about using shuttercal.com I just went there and got registered and have my Project 365 photos there...
I also have a blog...just click my name and it should take you to my blogspot site...Just click on Project 365...
Hello I shared before, but I explain again. I have set up a digital template to the size of 15cm x 20cm (you may need to make the inches conversion) in photo shop. I put 2 days worth of photos on these pages, but you could include however many you want, it is very flexible.
I am using an old exercise (school note book and that is the size of the pages in it). These are not expensive and you can get them in a number of page sizes and they are lined so can just do your journalling by hand.
I however pulled most of my pages out, and stuck my template to some scraps and I am binding them back in with ribbon and rings.
If I run out of room, I will just use another book.
Hope this helps and hope everyone is enjoying project 365.
Candi, someone somewhere mentioned the whole "forgot-a-day" concept...they had the idea of taking a picture of something that wouldn't necessarily change from day to day...like a tree outside your window, your closet...you know, a picture that could just as easily be one day as the next.
I think it would be fun to kind of have a little mini layout on those missing days (because I know that i won't get a pic every day). Just a couple of thoughts...
I am with Amy for now I am keeping up with my journaling and pics in hopes I can obtain one of your kits Becky. I would be sick if I went and bought stuff for my own and they became available. Your kit is a huge value and it is allot more expensive to do your own and I love the colors you chose as well.
I'm scrapbooking mine. I decided that I need to use up all of those supplies in my scrap room! The great thing about it that I don't have to worry about whether my photos are vertical or horizontal. You can see the layout for week 1 in my blog here:
http://terris365project.blogspot.com/
http://carolynlontin.blogspot.com/2009/01/project-365-jan-1-jan-10th.html
Here is my link - got my kit on Wednesday & I LOVE IT!! Thanks for putting together a GREAT kit!!
I have two different ideas, but I'm not sure which one I'm going to do yet. The first is to use a 12x 12 calendar as the first page of each month and write my "notes" on each calendar day, and then include the photos in the 12x12 page protectors that hold 4x6 photos after it. I'll either digitally add the dates or use rub ons.
My other idea is to do it all digitally (I'm just learning Digi and really liking it so there's a good chance I'll go this route) using templates, and then upload the whole thing to Shutterfly at the end of the year and have them make a book for me. I'm sure it will be slightly expensive (more than the kit anyway), but still so worth it to have.
I'm looking forward to hearing about your "alternative". :)
I'm doing a homemade version. Here's my link
http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/pg.asp?cmd=display&layout_id=1430579
Tami -- that looks SO AWESOME! I love your color scheme! What type of page protectors did you use?
Hi Becky (and all)-- Here's my idea (taken from my hubby and son's hobby of baseball card collecting). I am using baseball card protectors. There are 9 openings 2.5 x 3.5. For a week, I will use a double page spread: one holder will be for "the week of" and the rest will be for journaling, pictures or just embellished papers, etc. I have decided to use different papers for each month to be themed (for example, January is a snowy theme). I use Shutterfly to print pictures, and they have a collage option for 4 x 6 pictures to print 2 (or more) pictures on one print. This works out perfectly to fit into the protectors.
Also, someone mentioned what happens if you miss a day...the great thing about this is that you don't HAVE to have a picture: I have included receipts from my weekly date with my husband to Subway; you could also journal a little extra that week, have your kids journal, or just add an extra patterned paper or flower to that opening.
Sorry this is so long. Becky, thank you for allowing us to share options!
Angie
Tami, I LOVE your version! I am probably going to go with that!!!
All of the comments are great and the ideas are super. However, I am doing the LOM project by Stacy Julian and want to do the 365 Project as an additional project. The thing I love about the kit is that basically all the work is done other than the photography and the journaling.
Please, please let us know if additional kits are going to be available. I'm still taking pics and journaling every day but I would much rather have the kit.
Thanks!
Close To My Heart (CTMH) sells the 12x12 clear page protectors (we call them Memory Protectors) with 4x6" pockets- there are 6 pockets per page. I'm making my own 365 project using the CTMH protectors. You can look for a CTMH consultant at www.closetomyheart.com or my website www.scrapbees.com and click online shopping for them. They are a heavy-weight sheet for $7.95 for 10 pages.
All these suggestions and ideas are fine but I still want the one and only Project 365 that we were enticed with for so long. I hope the details that are being worked out are to order more Project 365 kits that hundreds of us out here still want.
I don't know if this has been mentioned yet because I didn't read all the comments, but for digital scrapbooking there is a great kit called Life 365 at www.weedsandwildflowersdesign.com that is really cool and fun. I don't work there or get any profit from this. Just sharing.
I am going totally digital (possibly doing a photobook when the year is over). I am using flickr to share my daily photos.

I'm planning on using the creative pads from Pebbles. Right now the creative pads (not journaling)are on clearance for $1.25 (free shipping if you order $100) Here's the link to thier store http://www.pebblesinmypocket.com/main.cfm?categoryoid=302. Thanks for all the fun ideas--and Becky, for a great kit!

What a great idea for all of us to share our suggestions!
I bought these We R Memory Keepers 4x6 page protectors: http://store.scrapbook.com/wr-50041-4.html
and am putting them in a 12x12 American Crafts D-ring album. I got a good price for one over at Two Peas in a Bucket.
As far as journaling cards, I created 4x6 "week of..." cards using 3 different fonts & printed in 3 different neutral colors: black, grey & brown. They're pretty plain, but I wanted them to be simple & have plenty of white space to be covered with different papers & embellishments depending on the theme I'm going for on any given week. I decided to not just print them in black because certain papers will look best with brown or grey text instead. I can fit 6 per page on one 12x12 page. You only need to print 9 pages (3 black, 3 grey, 3 brown) to cover the whole year.
Journaling cards, same idea - six 4x6 cards per page. Each card covers two days of the week ("monday & tuesday" on one card, for instance) I have three different fonts & the same colors: black, grey & brown.
I heard about this project & your blog through CK magazine. Even though I couldn't get the kit, I'm SO excited about 365! I'm fairly new to scrapbooking, although I've been using scrapbook supplies to create cards & other paper crafts for a few years now. I'm really enjoying how this is encouraging me to take more photos & to scrapbook these daily moments!
-Steph
I got a kit and I'm working on getting it up to date. I'm planning on printing a quote, scripture or funny thing my child says in the "white space" left on the "week of" card. On the extra, more decorative, journaling card, I might do the same or I might even list some birthdays or other holidays that happened that week. I want my album to be full of information, in addition to the pictures.
For my first week, I'm using a 12x12 American Crafts page protector and creating a title page with the paper that comes with the kit. Then I started my first week with a right side divided page and it worked perfectly!
I just received an email indicating that Designer Digitals is creating Project 365 templates. And Ali Edwards already has some calendar-related products there as well.
As an aside, I received my CK 365 kit yesterday and I've very excited. Everything went very smoothly after some initial struggles to place the order on the website.
To make it easy to remember your life, take a pic of your fridge calendar (if you use one) or you monthly page of your daytimer and store w/your project. =) Nice to use to record additional tidbits you may not get to right away.
I went to my LSS and was going to get the We R Memory Keepers page protectors. However, I wasnt sure I liked the idea of being limited to all horizontal photos.
While I was there, I noted that Bazzill has some 3 ring binders AND divided page protectors too. The cool thing, is that it has both horizontal AND vertical slots. (so for a one week spread you would have 6 horizontal slots and 4 vertical slots)
http://bazzillbasics.com/albums/lickety-slip-albums/
Im also thinking about getting the stamps that the first poster mentioned from www.scrap-room.com. It looks like a very cool set and their customer service there is AWESOME!!!!
I am using the kit, but I'm now thinking about mixing in other page protectors so I can have vertical and horizontal photos.
Tyuana - The page protectors came with the album. It was from Pioneer, and had enough pages to do 300 pictures. I added a couple refills to have enough for the whole year. I found the album at Office Max. Thanks for looking!
Creative Memories has some days of the week and month stickers. You might need several packs of the days of the week ones= one pack has twelve spelled out words days of the week (twelve mondays, tuesdays, etc) and twelve letters for each day of the week and they are all different fonts. hope that helps .
This post has been removed by the author.
i posted my idea on jessica's blog, but thought i would post it here as well to help someone out...
i bought baseball card protective sleeves (you can find them at walmart/meijer) and they are even acid free! although they are 3 pockets by 3 pockets (2.5inx3.5in pockets), they are still a great inexpensive option and fit in regular 8.5x11 binders. i think i got 35 sleeves for $6 something? i also found recycled plain craft paper/cardboard binders at meijer that are great to personalize/embellish as they can be covered with paper, painted, etc. i am sure you can find other version of this as the recycled/green products are so hot right now. i have also thought about inserting full page protectors here and there for days that need more journaling/pictures/etc.
hope this helps!
To make the page protectors I just used my sewing machine and divided it up just like the Project 365 ones. I started by making 6 6x4 slots, and then divided up the bottom sleeves into 4 pockets. I then used my Cutterbee scissors to make an incision at the top of each of the unopen slots.
Becky, girl, you really rock. I was hoping that CK would approve some sort of digital reproduction..this is great..hugs your doing a great job, over and above what is in your "job description." Your kindess will come back to you big time. I know it's not the cure for cancer, but the little things in life are also important. The kids and family who will view this in years to come will recieve a great deal of happiness from it..have a great day, hey the whole year..you deserve it..HUGS
Thank you all for sharing your idears and photos! I fell in love with the Bazzill Lickety slips page protectors and wonder if anyone know where to buy them? I live in Sweden so it has to be a online stor that ships internationally.
If you have page protectors with only horizontal pockets and want to include vertical photos you can always put two photos togheter in photoshop and print them on one horizontal photo.
Here is mine. I used ***Credits: Lucky Star Kit Essential ©2006 by Gina Cabrera of www.DigitalDesignEssentials.com

Pebbles Share and Tell tm is a good alternative!
After looking at everyones ideas, I decided on the most economical option that was first submitted by user Misstami. It is a Pioneer Album bought at Officemax that already comes with 49 page protectors, I had to buy one more pack and the total cost was $21.00. I am using my own stash for the mats and tags. The cover and title page are with Old World Stack. Then the first week is doenw tih K and Company matts and matching tags. I then just stamped on the days of the weeks using the CK KOTM stamp set I got earlier in the year.
http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/pg.asp?cmd=display&layout_id=1431651
A couple of ideas. One is to mimic the layout structure of the special page protectors in the kit. Instead of slipping photos and journaling cards into the specially made pockets, just adhere your photos and cards in the exact same spots on a 12x12 layout. All the measurements are the same.
Also, I want to give my niece who just had a baby something like this kit but knowing that she'll be overwhelmed with the baby for a while, I'm going to decorate the outside of a ring binder album and provide enough page protectors to give her the opportunity to do a 365 type album. I'll put 52-4x6 cards in sleeves at the back that she can pull out and use as journaling cards each week. I'm even thinking of making some that have titles like "first tooth", "first words", "first month", etc. They could be made with sweet baby papers and embellished with baby diecuts, chipboard, etc. So easy for her!
I was reading through the comments and don't think I have seen this idea yet, but if I am repeating something someone else has already said, I apologize. Creative Memories has an expandable Picfolio (http://www.creativememories.com/MainMenu/Our-products-and-services/Traditional-Scrapbooking/Albums---NEW-Sizes!/PicFolio%e2%84%a2-Albums/PicFolio%e2%84%a2-Milestones-Coverset--Pages) that has 10, 4x6 openings for a two page spread. This would allow for 7 pictures, a "Week of" block, and two journaling blocks. The pro: 4 of the 10, 4 x 6 openings are portrait. The con: only expands to 40 pages which would mean you would have to do multiple volumes. I think this is the way I am going if I do not get my kit. (I got confirmation on 1/1, but nothing since! Argh!)
Ok since this has been left open for people to post ideas and opinions! I have just posted a question on my blog as to what I should re-name my "Project 365" I thought since I'm putting together my own kit, it needed a new name, (No offence Becky xx) Most of the names have no.365 in them anyway, but just you know! I dunno ... anywho, I need your opinion on giving it a name .... please leave me a comment, I need to start decorating the front of the album!

I don't know if anyone else has already posted this link, but I found a digital resource for Project 365 which is free on DigiScrap101.

I hope this helps someone!
I didn't read all the comments, so sorry if this is a repeat... PInc. sells 12x12 binders and protectors with 4x6 protectors. We sell them at our store, but I am sure they are available online. :)
Hi guys - loving the ideas! Here is what I think I am going to do:
In an effort to use up supplies I have, I'm hoping to use the two-up pages with the slip of paper in the middle from an old album. I actually have a tonne of extra pages so I'd like to make a new cover using binder rings?(ANY better IDEAS???), but will store them in an album for now. I made a computer label template for the perforated papers that come with the albums and I intend to print out the daily dates. The photo would go in the top slot and the journalling card in the bottom - which can be plain or embllished using the stash I have. YEY! Hopefully this will work.
ALSO - for those of you mentioning the page protectors with 5 slots (3 H, 2 V) they can also be found in Canada at Canadian Wholesale or Zehrs for about $12 - they are designed to hold 500 photos. They are binder style and the cover is fairly simple in design and could be embellished. I considered going this route but I think my above idea will use up more of my stuff which is a huge goal for me this year. Still working on my blog and will eventually post it there!
Happy scrapping!
Alison
I'm tracking my photos and journaling daily over at ShutterCal:

I was just reading Ali's blog http://aliedwards.typepad.com/ and found some a link within her site where she speaks of her organizing of albums and shares some pictures etc. http://aliedwards.typepad.com/_a_/adventures-in-organizing-.html
I learned from the q and a found here http://aliedwards.typepad.com/_a_/2008/03/anatomy-of-an-a.html and here in the q and a http://aliedwards.typepad.com/_a_/2008/05/q-a-albums.html that she has found some page protectors that she has used for years.
They are meant to organize stickers and such, with lots of little pockets, or with longs openings for (I'm guessing here) 6x3.
They are from Crop In Style, and can be found in Michaels and probably all the larger stores out there, but can also be found here online http://store.scrapbook.com/psbrefbmeg.html .
The description they have on Scrapbook.com is
15 Assorted Pages:
3 Standard Pages - 20 pockets perfect for small stickers and die-cuts.
3 Quarter Pages - 4 pockets for holding larger sized stickers and die-cuts.
3 Wide Border Pages - 2 pockets great for wide border stickers and long die-cuts.
3 Chunky Pages - 5 pockets made medium sized stickers and die-cuts.
3 Standard II Pages - 10 various sized pockets for holding odd shaped stickers and die-cuts.
and the silliest thing about my search for these page protectors is that I have some and just haven't gotten around to organizing that part of my scrap area. Oh well, now I know a better way of using them and I hope this helps someone out there too.
Hi Becky, I started my Project 354 yesterday, on my birthday.
I am doing this via Flickr, created a digital journal to make it doable for me. I snap photos every day, but the scrapping part is to difficult. But I'm a writer, so I can blog it ;)
I have created a Project 365: 2009 group on Flickr for all to join who are posting their photos and scrap pages on Flickr. Great way to inspire each other and stay motivated! Folks can join here:

Thanks for the idea and inspiration.
I am so grateful for the digital files you all so generously shared for this project. We have a video on Digiscrap101 that shows step by step how to take those files and make them more friendly for digital (meaning you don't have to print them out on your printer to use them!) We are working in Photoshop Elements you can find the tutorial Here
We stock 12x12 page protectors by Bazzill, We R Memory Keepers and Fancy Pants all with 6x4 slots which would be great for this project - find them at www.capturethemagic.biz
Thanks, Vikki

I have downloaded the items to my 365 folders but cannot see the actul picture until I double click it and it opens up in full screen. Then it won't let me print it! What am I doing wrong?
It’s Dear Friend,
a fact: if you want your website to make you money, generate leads or get subscribers you have to advertise in order to drive traffic to it. Of course this is true for any business, but it is absolutely essential for online business.

I like this comment: "I have downloaded the items to my 365 folders but cannot see the actul picture until I double click it and it opens up in full screen. Then it won't let me print it! What am I doing wrong?..." business is similar to buy viagra...thanks for sharing!
