completed layouts

Wanted to share some completed layouts from Project 365. These come from the lovely & talented Maggie Holmes.

One thing I noticed about Maggie's use of products (from the kit) is that she's putting the black day-of-the-week stickers over the photos, and the clear letter stickers (that coincide with each day of the week) on the journaling blocks, over color. It looks awesome. I happen to be doing the opposite of that, but maybe I'll switch it up once in a while.

I also want to point out a few other things:

1. She included vertical shots in the horizontal pockets (two 3x4 images, side-by-side)
2. She rounded her photo corners with a punch (to match the journaling blocks)
3. She got herself in front of the camera!

I love seeing different approaches to Project 365 ... with the kit, without the kit, paper-based or digital, journaling in the 4x6 spots (instead of photos) ... you name it. People are doing it.

So great to see all the ideas everyone is sharing. I love how you can still add your own touches if you want, but I'm sticking with the easy it's-all-done-for-you approach for now, while I catch up on last year's full scrapbook layouts. It's so versatile and I'm amazed at the deal that the kit is. Who doesn't love a great deal...I was at Target yesterday and bought $75 worth of clothes for my boys and paid only $13!! For 11 things!

I love the sample layouts, thank you for sharing. I have actually been consistant with carrying my camera and journal with me at all times. It's great. It's been amazing so far.

I can't wait to put it all together. I am a little behind in purchasing products for this project.

Thank you once again for sharing and for everything you have done and inspire to do, Becky. You are truly amazing.

I'm in the process of printing out my own photos and then journaling.

Thanks to whoever recommended the collage/mosaic in Picasa for fitting several pics on a 4 x 6 print. I played around with it last night and it is a perfect fit for some of the things I want to do. Thank You!

Awesome ideas!

I just got my kit yesterday - I literally ran out the UPS truck. The poor driver didn't know what to think :)

It's so AMAZING! I love, love, love everything. I spend three hours putting it together last night and I just couldn't be happier.

Thank you for all your hard work and your grace in dealing with the sticky situations you've had to face in the last couple weeks.

This is the first kit i've ever bought and I can't wait to order more.

Thanks again :)

I love seeing how others are doing things. I am doing the same in that I am putting the circle days of the week markers over color. I feel you can't see it otherwise. Also I love the rounded corner look.

I do have a question I don't know if anybody can help me. I do not have my photoshop elements figured out that well. But I am despratly searching for a program or way to get 2 3x4's in the same 4x6. Does anybody have a favorite way of doing this??

Thanks!

Love more inspiration! I just got me kit on Monday and it is awesome. This is my first KOTM and I'm hoping to get chaught up on it this weekend. So versatile but quick and easy at the same time, a perfect fit for me. I love to have my own creativity in things so please continue to share more layouts for ideas. I'm sure this will come up, but how have people been incorporating the ribbon? I'd love to see that.

I'm loving seeing all the different ways to use the kit as well. LOVE how she slightly embellished the swirly journaling card!!! And she changed it up a bit by moving the month card to the right side. I've opted to use Ali Edwards "Day and Month Photo Overlays" on all my pics instead of using the stickers. I LOVE the look! I just make another layer over my photo, stamp the brush, then pull back the opacity about 50% so that it's subtle, and all my photos have the day of the week on them. I love the simple frame around the edge and pulls all my photos together. This is the bestest kit EVAH!!!!

Thanks for sharing what Maggie has done. I love the idea of rounding the corners. I have been making an effort to take horizintal pictures, but have taken some verticals - I was going to put them in the journaling spots, but like the idea of combining into 1 photo.

I have to say I wasn't sure about scrapbooking like this but now that I have the kit and I see the whole concept I have to say WOW this will definitely change the way I scrapbook! It is pure freedom!

I bought 2 kits, one to do for my family this year, and one to do starting in May, as soon as school is out, for my son, who will be a senior in the fall. I am going to do a 365 day book for him of his last year at home...some will be from my perspective, and some from his. I have done the usual school and baby books for him, but wanted something different. My only problem is that I didn't realize the albums said project 365 on them. I wondered if there are other albums out there that would fit these page protectors. Otherwise an idea would be to alter the album cover, but have never done this.

You can download Picasa3 (from Google) for free

If you pick 2 photos to 'collage' and select your size to 4x6 you will get (2) 3x4 photos --if you selected 4 photos to collage you would get (4) 2x3's

HTH!

This is such a cute example of how versatile your kit really is. I just received mine Monday and I was so excited that I spent an hour just playing with all of it. Oddly enough my favorite part is the library style date stamp. It's just perfect. I plan on trying something different with each week's layout. I'm going to let this be the year that I get out of my "scrapping bubble". Thanks for the tips and inspiration Becky.

I called CS and they told me that backorders would be filled the first week in February or sooner. She also said the kits are there, but are behind in shipping.

I'm only printing out my pictures once a month with Snapfish (which, by the way you can make a 4x6 collage).
For my first page, I'm going to include a passage from Ecclesiates, a picture of our house, 2009, and one more picture. On the bottom row, I'll include a picture of everyone in our family, including our doxie, Molly. On the last page, I'm going to take a picture of the row of trees in our yard during all four seasons and the back of all of the people in our family.

Can't wait to get my kit!!!

I'm WAY more on track this year than I was last year with Project 365. I've taken a picture every day, edited them, and have them in ONE file on my computer. SHOCKERS!

Yesterday I was in the big city and stopped by my favorite scrapbook store. Since the kit's availability is still up in the air, I purchased a few things to help myself. I bought a 6x9 journal with a fun cover that has 150 pages in it (that's 300 days) with the idea that I can add flaps for more pictures. Every once in a while, I'll create a little flip book to stick on a page and have an entire week there. It's not quite as visual as having one whole week visiable at the same time, but it totally works for me!

Snapfish has free shipping (if you order 100 or more 4x6 prints) (oh, is it okay to put that plug in here??? SORRY!), so I'm busy uploading my first few weeks picture so I can get an order placed.

If the kit does become available, I'm going to order it for next year. I'm LOVING this project!!!

Thanks, Becky, for so much inspiration!!!!

I have been having a lot of fun working on mine. I have been ordered to take it easy until they can get my migraine under control so That means time to spend with this.
So...
I took 4x6 index cards and wrote a note in each corner as to what the date was. So Now when I take a picture I I can jot a quick note as to what it was, then when I develope the photos it is easy to find where they go. I have them set up for the entire year.
Also...
I am adding digital frames to my photos, much like the tranparencies included with the kit. Easy to do and they Look Great!

Hope that makes sense

Anyhoooo, Just wanted to share.

Just another Picasa tip:

for those of us who did not get the kit but downloaded Becky's .jpg's ---- if you open one of the journaling .jpg's in Picasa there is a 'tint' tool that will allow you to change the color of the journaling card.

Just to give you more versatility with the 4 journaling .jpg's the backgrounds are basically white but you can tint them blue, red, green, etc... save them and you have something a bit different.

For those asking about multiple pictures on one print, my sister and i use the koday kiosk at walmart. you go to the button that says something about mini prints and you can do 2, 4, or 9 pictures on a 4x6 print. The 2 on one works really well if you have 2 vertical prints you want to include. you can print them on one sheet then cut them apart to use in the journal pockets. I did this because i had pictures of 3 phone poles that i used as my pic of the day then mounted 2 journaling squares on an extra piece of paper and put it into one of the 4x6 slots. i will try to take a picture of it and post it to my blog at: http://rumaerth.blogspot.com
