incorporating "remembrance" into our home decor

One thing that is important to us is honoring those who come before us. One way to honor is to remember. One way to remember is to have a visual reminder. So throughout our home, we have both old and new photographs. Here are a few places where you can find the “old”.

All of our children’s great-grandparents can all be found in this frame. The middle is a scripture is found in Malachi 4:6. “And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers.” Found the frame at Bombay Kids years ago (I think they have since gone out of business – is this true?)

In Claire’s bedroom, among other sentimental details, we have a picture of my mom & me (when I was a baby) on the bottom shelf. And one shelf up, you can see another picture of me as a baby, sitting on my great grandmother’s lap. All the frames you can see are from a variety of places. Everywhere from Real Deals to Target to Home Goods, probably. The piece of furniture is from Razmataz.

This is one of my favorite pictures of my folks, taken when they were newlyweds.

Zooming out a bit, you can see where it sits on a shelf. This is in the corner of our kitchen:

NOTE: The neutral color that is painted on most of the walls throughout our home is called Oak Harbor, from Dunn-Edwards.

I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)
