Our Christmas cards usually stay up through Valentines Day. So yesterday's picture of the day, naturally, was a shot of the display before we took them all down.
I was just wondering if you knew if Connie E Dunn had a blog? I saw her creative space in March09 CK mag called a country refuge. I want to ask her about one of her storage elements but can't find a way to contact her about it. Even on the CK website there is no record of her at all. Any info would be most appreciated.
My Christmas cards sit in a basket because i haven't thought of a way to display them.
Love this idea, but what do you use to stick them up so it doesn't peal paint when you remove them? When you take them down what do you do with them? (mine are still in zip-locks)
I'd love to see what you do with your Christmas cards each year. Do you put them all in an album? It seems like I saw something once in CK where you had incorporated them in a Christmas album? Thanks Becky!
Becky ... thanks for sharing the great things you do around your home. I am amazed at how neat and tidy your house is ... with three kids!! We only have 1 little boy (he is 3), but I struggle to keep his toys contained to one area ... and ... store them with "style". Do you have any ideas you can share on toy storage? Thanks for sharing!! =)
Love it! I usually take ours down after new years but I love this idea and think next year we will start it too. Also what do you use to put them on the wall with. I have used poster putty on the back of our front door or tape but don't like it much. Thanks Again
This comment actually has nothing to do with your last blog. It's more of a question...when I go to your products page, click on details and click on buy it just keeps flashing at me (it's like it's trying to open the page but continuously failing. Do you know why this is?
Like Lynda, I would LOVE to see a photo of how you store your kids' toys! My little one's "stuff" is everywhere! I'm not sure of the best way to store it all!! Thanks!!
Wow, what a awesome wall of cards! What do you do with all the cards when you take them down? I would love any ideas that you might have because i can't get myself to toss them.
What a great way to post these. We have always hung ours like a garland around doorways. Seems like we get a ton by the time New Year's Day arrives, but we also send out about 250 cards. (Next year we are going Green and sending out a high-res printable digi version.)
I'd like to know where you place your first card. Center of the wall and build out equally to both sides?
Do you normally have photos or art hanging on this wall that you remove for hanging Holiday cards? Wow, I am nosey today. :)
I am using a circle cutter to cut small circles out of the patterned paper included in the kit. I put my days-of-the-week letter stickers on those circles and then adhere them to my photos. :)
I am STILL trying to figure out how you took the photo of yourself in the rear view mirror. I have almost the same camera and I cannot, for the life of me, get the same result. Can you explain it again? I have reviewed this post and it still stumps me.
Looks good Becky but honestly one of the first things I do after New Years is take all our christmas cards down as it starts to feel so cluttery. Your display looks clean and uncluttered!! Carolyn
After our family takes down the Christmas cards, I put them in a little mail bucket that sits on the window sill next to our kitchen table. Each night at dinner, we take a card and pray for that family before dinner and spend time talking about them during dinner. It's a great way for the kids to get to know our family and friends from far away that they rarely see. I still haven't figured out what to do with the previous year's cards, though! :)
Just wanted to say thanks for the download of your chart to stay organized with your scrapping. I just blogged how I took your idea and made some changes for my own version. I made sure to give you the credit for the idea:-) Thanks!
Do you ever feel like you have "Blog-stalkers"? I feel as though I might be one of them.... I'm always super nervous to write and leave you a meassage because let's face it, you're like the goddess of scrapbooking. You always seem so organized, how in the world do you find the time for family, work, friends, church, decorating,exercise... I could go on and on. It's nice to see that I'm not the only one who still has her holiday cards up! Well anyways, thank you for your inspiring words and photos... it helps me to get through my frumpy mom days!
We take down our cards and put them in a basket. I keep them in my boy's bedroom (they begged to share a room) and they pull out one card a night and we say a special prayer for that person/family. Keeps Christmas and its message alive for 365 days.
Wow Becky! You got lots of Christmas cards! I love how you have displayed them. I use tape and tape them on the door of a closet of our home but it doesn't work great for us. I will have to try that next year. Did you use sticky tak? I guess Christmas is officially over.
Wow that looks like a lot of cards. What do you do with them once you take them down? Last year I displayed mine on my wall but this year I just had a basket set on my desk where I put the cards in as I received them. They are still sitting in that basket on my desk. Need to find some place to put them.
Becky - I love your blog and your recipes! I have followed you and your sketches for years! Thanks for sharing your creativity and your philosophy! I have a question..I am DESPERATELY looking for 2 ribbon holders for your rail system. Do you have any idea where i can find them? I've scoured the internet, but can't seem to locate them anywhere. Any leads you could give me would be GREATLY appreciated!
Funny that you took them down yesterday. I spent yesterday putting all of the photo cards we got into an album of all of our photo cards from the last 6 years or so. Seems we get more and more photo cards each year but it's so fun to see the progression of our friends and family each year.
Also wanted to say thank you again for your awesome books of sketches. I was at an all day crop yesterday and spent a good portion of the day using your sketches as inspiration for some pages that I ended up being really happy with. I was sending you love vibes all day yesterday! :-) Loving Project 365 too! You ROCK!
I love how you arranged them. It looks so uncluttered.
I have a question for you. Have you ever considered writing a book about your system from camera to scrapbook? I know you have given out bits of information on your blog and in CK magazine, but I would love to see a really detailed outline of the steps you take and how it's all organized all in one book. Your system of organization is always so logical and easy to understand.
Thanks ShellyJ for the info on Connie. I knew either Becky would have the info or another reader would post something. YEAH for Becky's blog readers you are a fantastic bunch!
For those of you asking what to do with your cards, I create a mini album each year from mine, then display them in a basket. Everyone loves to look through them when they visit and see how everyone has changed.
I have a box of baby announcements and pictures from over the years that I am also planning to put together in a "Babies we Love" album. Hope that's helpful!

What an awesome display! I have a scrap album that I put my favorite cards from each year in - especially now that most cards are photos. Love it.

Thanks Becky!
I love that idea and have the same questions that have already been asked :-)

Hey I keep asking, but just wondering what you do with the Christmas cards and letters? How do you organize them after? Thanks!

Hi Becky,
I know its past the holiday season, but would you be willing to share your families 2008 Christmas greeting?
I took mine down yesterday too and that was my picture of the day too. Great minds think alike.
Lisa C.
On project 365 I was wondering what people are doing to get their days of the weeks stickers (the white ones) colored. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the reminder to take my christmas cards down!
I had that as my picture of the day last week when I took mine down...I like to leave them up as long as possible to enjoy them.
