Valentines home decor

First, a little shout-out to Jo and her family. They are traveling in the U.S. right now … from Australia. Noticed your comment, Jo, and while I don’t have store recommendations for the areas that you’re going through, I just wanted to send a big, happy WELCOME since you’re here visiting. Wishing you & your family a fantastic experience.

Okay. So HELLO, February! I have a little extra “love” in my home decor these days. Not a ton of red & pink (although I think that’s WAY fun), but just some small details that put a little more love in the air. For example, our entry table always has some sort of seasonal touch and this year, instead of going for red-ness, I kept it neutral and put a favorite Valentines-y picture in the frame.

That’s Porter holding his homemade heart. I used that picture to make his Valentines last year (see my 2/13/08 post). The frame, if you can believe it, is from WalMart.

The tall, skinny plants are from Home Goods.
The table is from Pottery Barn.
The green garland is from Real Deals.

Those of you who have been following my blog for a while know that we always have something seasonal hanging above our bar in the kitchen (with the use of invisible thread & eyelet screws). I found these hearts at Michael’s last year (clearance sale after Valentines) and honestly, they’re a bit “crafty” for my taste. But they’re fun. And they’re Valentines. And they were cheap.

This might be a familiar project to some of you, from last February.

This trio of photos (in frameless clip frames, like I just blogged about on 1/22/09) hangs in our kitchen. What’s different from how I had it last year (see my 1/15/08 post) … is that Crew is now a part of the display. The message, of course: Love One Another.

I’ve been getting comments about wanting to see more home decor projects. Honestly, that’s not necessarily my strength, but since I enjoy seeing other peoples’ homes and how they decorate … I’m going to make that my blog focus this week. So check back daily for more ideas from our home.

  1. Does anybody know if they have a youtube channel? I guess it would be nice to see some videos.

  2. Howdy, I’m a long-time reader and also was too shy to create a comment.

  3. More posts like this in the future please?

  4. You know this made me think of a quote. It’s something like: “All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.” Ralph Arron Emerson
