Thankful #1

Happy Week of Thanksgiving! Even if you're one of our international friends and not really celebrating this U.S. holiday, let's each make this week focused on personal thanksgiving and gratitude for our blessings. If you've been taking a picture-a-day with me this year and you'd like to join me in a little assignment, I challenge you to make every single one of your daily pictures this week something specific that you are thankful for.

Each day that I post this week, I will share something(s) that I'm thankful for. Something little & specific.

I am thankful for my children's art and how they so enthusiastically express themselves every single day in this format.

I am thankful for opportunities to teach my children ... and learn from them. With each frustrating moment of feeling tested, I am reminded that life, after all, is a test. How will I react to their mistakes? As I react or respond, will they know that I absolutely love them unconditionally in my tone and body language? I am thankful that our kids are so patient with me, and that they forgive so quickly and easily.

Yes, that is broken glass all over the kitchen floor because Claire wasn't listening, and yes, I'm posting some Project Life FAQs today.

I have been doing the Thankful pics most of this month. Thank you for the Project 365. I would never have thought to do this if it weren't for you.

isn't it so hard to be patient with our little ones sometimes? Even though we know it is all a test. Great thing to think about!

So glad Clair is doing better! Here's a Project Life question for you...One repeating msg I've heard from other scrapbooking celebrities over the past several years is that scrapping your photos chronologically makes it more difficult to make connections and tell the stories behind the photos. What do you think about this? Will Project Life still get my stories told and show connections? Also, how sturdy is the PL album and will it hold all page protectors from the kit? I hope you can take a moment to respond to my questions. Thanks!
Stacy :-)

I appreciate people who post reality based photos, because, well, life can be messy! Hope there was a teachable moment from this event.

Happy Thanksgiving!

you should do "weekly photo assignments" every now and then in 2010 to give people ideas for their picture-a-day, and to keep people motivated! fun idea!

Oh boy, that is a mess! I have been there more times than I want to admit. Kids! but you are so right. We need to stop and think about how thankful we are for our small blessings. At least no on got cut. I will be thankful for that. :)

The not so great moments are a reminder of just how good everyday life is. We shouldn't take it for granted.

SUGGESTION?? I LOVE the look of your photos. Would you consider doing an entry talking about or answering questions on how you take your photos? I would love to take a photo class, but it's just not going to happen and would love to pick your brain. What setting do you have on your camera when the subject is in focus and the background is blurry (like your food photos)? When you develop your pictures, do you usually photoshop them before or only some? Do you always put a caption on your photos or only some? (I think this is so clever...) Anyways, just a few questions that I'm dying to know so I can make my photos look as great as yours.

Thx!

(Ordered Project Life and excited to start Jan. 1, but want to take better photos...)

I just did that exact same clean-up 2 days ago! I totally agree that it's all about how your react. I'm terrible at it.

Becky, I have a Project Life Q. How come there are only 360 daily cards to write on? I know there are the tri-fold cards too, but I really like writing on the smaller cards for P365. I'm afraid I'm going to run out. :S

What a great idea! Thanks for the suggestion. :-)

Like an earlier poster, I think it'd be fun if you felt like posting these kinds of weekly "challenges" or ideas periodically that we P365ers can do together. Just provides another way of thinking about capturing everyday life in its many forms.

P.S. I hate cleaning up glass! :-( But our precious little people don't mean to do it, so patience is in order, as you said.

What a funny picture!
Not that mess is great, but sometimes it can be funny afterwards...
It reminds me of a picture i made of my hubby, who wanted to drill a hole in the wall and hit the water pipe....so much for the handyman!
hahahaha

Hmm, the broken glass plus a bare footed Miss Claire must have been tense learning moment. One day in the hospital, the next almost give mom a cardiac. Ain't Life Grand!
