first orders are being received!

First of all, the GREAT NEWS today is that some of you are already receiving your Project Life orders! When you receive your kit, feel free to drop a comment and let me know that it arrived ... hopefully safe & sound. And PLEASE tell me that everything in the kit looks alright. : ) The first recipients are in Washington state and since I'm in Arizona, my estimated delivery day is Saturday.

(Yes, I ordered one just like everyone else. Wanted to experience the whole process from placing the order to having FedEx deliver the box to my front door.)

As for the FedEx email confirmation issue, I've learned that this did not happen for every single order. A lot of orders, yes, but not every single one. I realize it's an incredibly busy time for FedEx and what's done is done, but I still am frustrated that it happened at all. The latest from FedEx is that they cannot regenerate email notifications with the correct tracking numbers. If they reran the file, it would generate new tracking numbers, so the data would be incorrect when sent out in the customer email. FedEx apologizes for the error.

As I said yesterday, everyone should still be receiving their correct order and in the end, that's really what matters.

One more note for now: I appreciate you guys so much. You're the best customers ever. Many of you have taken time to post comments and send emails that are very supportive and encouraging. I truly feel your enthusiasm, not only for the Project Life kit, but for my little entrepreneurial endeavors. Thank you so much for being a part of this journey. If I could go back a few months, I would not change a thing. I would still resign from CK, still give up the life as an employee, and still start a business with David.

The journey continues. I'll be in touch again soon.

I'm so glad you aren't discouraged by all this! It's really not a big deal for me as a customer. I figured it'll all get worked out. Hopefully things get easier for you...I'm looking forward to a 2011 kit already!

Hi becky!

I placed an order on the first day your kits were relesed. Is there any way for you to tell me if I did in fact order a kit? I have checked my junk email/spam & do not see an email from Fed Ex at all. Just wanted to make sure before I go & order another kit. I missed out on last years kit & don't want ot miss this years. Thanks for all of your hard work.

Thank you!

I got mine and I'm super excited! I'm in Redmond, WA and I got an e-mail late last night from FedEx with correct info as far as I could tell.

And YES it looks perfect. I love the design, everything seems to be in the box that was supposed to be and it's all in tact. Easy peazy process from start to finish for me. THANK YOU!!

Becky...you are the best. I really appreciate you keeping us up to date on everything...what awesome customer service! I was one of them who got the wrong email...but totally understand after reading your post. (It is so much better than being left in the dark and wondering.) Things sometimes happen out of your control. I can't wait to get my box from FedEx. :) I really hope this does not discourage you from making any more kits and selling them. Thank you!

Odd that we've not gotten an email from fed ex at least stating they know there was an error and they apologize for it. I can understand the not reissuing as it will mess up their tracking number system, but it doesn't say much for their customer service! Thanks for keeping us informed. I'm in Tx and so is the gal whose fed ex email I got. They gave her an arrival date of the 5th so I'm assuming that's when mine will arrive as well.

Becky, Thanks for all of the updates--I was one that got an email from FedEx with someone else's name and it is nice to know that you are aware and my kit will still be shipped correctly. Thanks again for the wonderful customer service. I can't wait to join in on Project Life since I missed out on Project 365 last year! This will be both a challenge and a blessing for me in 2010--the best kind of project!

Becky,
Just wanted to drop a comment to say how much I appreciate your efforts on behalf of your customers. It is amazing that you were able to design the product, negotiate development and manufacturing, organize shipping and warehousing and final shipment to our homes in really such a short amount of time. I also know from your past work that you took the time to plan and create something that would be useful and meet the needs of my style of scrapbooking and also be pretty to boot. And at a price point that makes my hobby affordable. It is a brave venture to form your own company and move away from the safety net of another's name. That said, I think it was a smart move when your name represents your consumer appeal and it was not being valued or protected as carefully as it had been in the past. Without the weight of a corporation behind you, small issues will arise, but I applaud your overall efforts to make this purchase smooth and rewarding. You are a mom with a business. One is not exclusive of the other and you seem to balance things well. I am confident that any problems that arise will be handled efficiently. So, hold the baby, answer the emails as you can and enjoy this day as your first transaction as a business women begins reaching your eager customers hands. It really is a momentous thing.
Thanks! ElRae

Mine arrived a few hours ago! Got two of them, and am now trying to decide if I'll use one for 2009 (have been keeping up online, waiting for the right idea/kit to do a hardcopy version - http://stacia365project.blogspot.com/) and one for 2010, or do 2010 and 2011, or... I'm thinking I'll do 2009 & 2010 because I just imagine that you'll have something new and fabulous for us for next year. :-)

In the meantime, I'm going to go back and read all the ideas and videos and everything because it's wonderful but...I'm not sure exactly where to start! Yikes!

I used to do the stamp and paper all from scratch kind of cards, but I just don't have the time for that. I came across this site when I searched for Christmas card kits. How lucky am I? Ordered yours. Beautiful. Hope you will be doing one again next year.

And now, I am eagerly awaiting my Project Life Kit. I tried to Scrapbook when my son was born, but it just wasn't working for me.

I have received my confirmation email with an arrival date of Jan. 6 (I am in Florida). Can't wait to get it all started.

Thank you so much for sharing your ideas and for taking the risk to strike out on your own. So glad I found this site.

Hi Becky!
I live in Colorado (so haven't received my kit yet) but I'm excited it's on the way. Yes, I recieved a confirmation with someone else's name, but ironically it was a friends name who I told about the kit the day you released it to sell. And another girlfriend had MY name on HER kit! Kind of funny, living in a little scrapbook bubble maybe? You right, the main thing is that we will eventually get them. My girlfriends and I are SO excited about thhis project. I did your Project 365 this past year (but your digital version because I didn't order in time to get the hardcopy. And I LOVED the digital version!) It was a wonderful, simple way to document the year. THANK YOU SO MUCH for the energy you have invested in this for us. Like some others, I'm worried with your last couple experiences over New Years that you will be hesitant to keep making kits (since I can only imagine the stress this Fed Ex thing caused on your end) but please know we are so grateful for your endeavor. We are on the winning end of your ideas. So huge hugs from Colorado being sent to you in Arizona tonight. xo Tiffany

Hi Becky,

Not sure where I'm supposed to leave my questions/comments. I just got my Project Life!!! Yea! However, one of the binder rings is bent and it does not click together. I had a similiar problem with my P365 but I'm planning using some sort of tool to get it to go together permantly when I'm all finished. Is there anyway I can get just a new binder? It's pretty bad. SORRY! I know this is a pain.

Hello Becky,
Received my Project Life kit today and absolutely love it! I live in Albany, Oregon...another Pacific Northwest Fan! I to have a problem with the binder rings...they do not close all the way, and each time I turn a page, it comes out of the ring. Any way I can get a new binder...everything else is there and I love it! But, I think the binder problem will be an issue, especially when the book is completed and others want to "browse" through it. Please let me know how you can "fix" this issue! Otherwise...I love it, and also was a proud owner of the your Project 365 Kit!!!

I was in a PANIC! I had forgotten that I used Google checkout, and my gmail account, for this transaction. When I read something about FedEd tracking, I thought, "That's odd..." I looked through scores of deleted e-mails when it dawned on me...check your gmail... duh! There it was... According to FedEd, my kits are expected here (Central IL) January 5. Sadly, that is the last day of my Winter Break as a teacher. However, I think there is enough on the website to get to planning. Becky, thanks so much. I gave this as a gift this Christmas, and I promised my friend we would meet once a month to work just on this (we tend to buy things and let them sit...). She's so excited. OK... so I have aksed this question quite a few times earlier and have not recieved an answer... So I am thinking the answer is not a good one, but here I go again at an attempt to get an answer...

I got a little question for your Project Life ... I guess it came up in my mind when on your video, you were very concerned about putting the sticker on your photo. Is your kit Acid Free? It is just not safe for it to touch your photos? I have been working with your current P365 kit, and I am wondering the same thing now. Is last year's kit acid free and safe? I've been putting stickers on my pictures and pictures on the papers. After putting so much time into this project, I wouldn't want it to start yellowing after a few years and have to try to fix it.

Please answer me, as my kit will be arriving on Saturday :) I would like to know what is safe and what is not safe. thanks!

Becky, I think that your efforts thus far have been amazing. Please don't stress the Fedex situation. I don't think its a big deal to get the wrong email if you know the right package anyway. Enjoy the New Year!!!

Blogger mommyoffour said...

Shelly, I can't confirm this answer, but I am pretty positive she would make an acid free kit. Plus, she told us to put stickers on our pictures last year and again, I don't think she would tell us to do that unless they were acid free.

I just thought I would let you know what I think. Maybe she hasn't answered yet because it is acid free and you there isn't anything to worry about.

Again, this is just a guess, but I feel strongly about all that Becky has done and I really don't think she would sell us product that would ruin all of our pictures.

Happy new year! :)

Hey Becky, I am in OR and recieved my kit on 12.30! I was so excited to get it before the new year. The packaging is great and I look forward to digging in.

I am in Idaho and my kit just arrived. I tore it open and am amazed at what I saw. The colors are so rich and the design is so awesome. I loved last years and this one tops it. Thanks Becky!! My kids are out playing in the new snow and I am diving in to my new kit.
