November pages for kiddos

First of all ... is it really December already? Really?

I'm sorry I didn't post this earlier, but I just barely did the November pages with the 1st graders YESTERDAY! Last day of the month, I know. But that's just how it played out this time.

The theme we focused on was RECESS and playing outside. This has been my favorite month taking pictures of the first graders for sure. Fun, active, outdoor shots. So refreshing to chase them around on playground equipment instead of in the classroom for a change.

Added note: I printed these via costco.com and clicked on the option to have a thin black border on the prints.

Here are the pieces that each child got: 2 pages (see files below), 2 strips of patterned paper (8.5" x 1.5"), a month label. That's it. Keeping it real simple.

Here is a completed layout:

And here are the files you can download. As usual, they're in 3 different formats, so just download what you want.

november.page.2.doc

Did you mount the photos on a black background, or did you photoshop a border onto the photos?

Hi Becky,
Thanks so much for sharing these. Could you also share the pdf version of October page 2? You accidentally posted two versions of page 1. Thanks so much.

Hi Becky,

Just two random questions for you. 1. Do you have any holiday crafts that you'll be working on with your kids this month? And 2. Whats for dinner tonight?

Have a beautiful day!

Thank you thank you thank you!!! I know our teacher will be thrilled for next year (my son is currently in K). :) Have a great week.

Cassandra, Becky added a note (not sure if it was after your question or not) that she printed them at Costco which had that border option. However you could do it in PSE.

Here's a silly question for you. I've been using your sketches from CK for several years as inspiration. But when you are using a non-standard size photo in your layouts, how do you print them? Do you do it on your home printer? I ask because I never like the finish my photos have when I print them at home and yours always look like the kind of prints that come from places like Shutterfly. Just curious to know...

I don't know why I've never thought of choosing a black border when I got my prints at Costco. Cool!

Have ordered hundreds of photos from Costco and never tried the black border. I'll have to try this one.

Thank you so much for the idea and the downloads! I have been toying with the idea of creating scrapbooks with my daughter's kindergarten class but it seemed a bit daunting. These will be PERFECT! Thank you!!!

Nice! Love the black border. Going to try that sometime - I print everything at Costco too. AWESOME photo quality...the best I've seen.

Thank you for posting these! I'm a teacher and I am using them in my classroom. Can I ask a favor? Can you post the December page soon so I know what to take pictures of? We go on break in 2 weeks and don't want to miss out on a photo op!
Thanks so much!!!

Becky, when you take these photos, which are beautiful (by the way), are you using manual settings? If so, do you remember what you chose?

Hey- Becky,

question.... I know you are busy with Project Life, and It looks like a wonderful project. I'm sooo excited you are sharing this with so many so they can better keep their memories and pictures. BUT I am a traditional non digital scrapbooker, and I have always loved your style from day one when I started reading CK back in 2001. I know you are not with CK, anymore so I would LOVE it if you share some of your pages on our blog, every once in a while. I know you are busy, but I love all your ideas, and the way you decorate your house, and so many of your layouts have inspired me, so I would love to see some again, since I wont be in CK anymore. Thanks for taking the time to read this! good luck in all you do!
