utterly & completely moved.

I spent the weekend farther away from my computer than normal.

Family togetherness. Sledding on fake snow in our neighborhood. A lovely dinner party with David's work friends. A midnight WalMart run. A dear friend visited from California. Good conversation and learning and laughs with girlfriends. Went to church. Shared my thoughts on the Savior there. And with our kids at home. Had a few families over for Sunday dinner. And we learned that a baby in our church family had passed away.

A bitter-sweet weekend.

And today. Complete with a heart feeling quite tender. A full day. Friends and family and service and catching up ... and rain.

And finally, in that catching-up of the "connected world", I was led to the AZ Central story that I am sure many of you have already read and seen by now. Stephanie Nielsen: Climbing Back.

In case you haven't had a chance yet, you really should take some time for this. It's here. And don't miss the couple of audio slideshows. So completely beautiful and inspiring. I hate to use an overused word like that, but truly -- Stephanie is inspiring.

Not taking life for granted. My heart is full.

It's never easy to go to a funeral for a baby. Whether it's your own or someone elses. I know as i have done both. I pray for your friend as they are experiencing the worst of life at the moment. I do wish for them to find a support group (Compassionate Friends, Share, MISS Foundation) because they are great groups. They help to heal the heart that is so very broken at this time. Hugs to you all.

The Nielsen story is both sad and yet uplifting but I can't help but think about the family (4 kids and a wife) who lost a husband and a father - the flight instructor who died in the accident. At least the Nielsen children still have both parents!

Thank you for sharing that. I've just spent the last hour reading her story and checking her blog. I missed getting the paper yesterday, but will certainly be ready to read next weeks installment. Makes me feel like anything is possible and how strong we all really are.

Becky, my thoughts and prayers are with the baby's parents. It is never easy to lose a child. Thank you for sharing the information about the Nielson's. Hope you have a great day.

I live in Phoenix, so read the story in the Sunday paper. My husband had read about it before, but somehow I had missed it. Our son is in Tampa at the V A hospital recovering from an IED blast in Afganistan on Oct. 1st. We have been taking turns being with Cory since then. This story helped remind me that healing takes lots of time. I KNOW that, but it is sometimes very difficult to be patient.

I was reading the Stephanie Nielsen articles yesterday and I was once again dumbfounded. I almost didn't know what to do with my day because I was so overwhelmed with gratitude that I could be a mother and do my duties with ease. Who cares about being busy when we have so many things that bless us?

I am sitting here still stunned at the power and grace that have allowed Stephanie to heal.
You're right, it is inspiring.

I was so overwhelmed by that story when I first heard about Stephanie and her husband. What an emotional telling of the events. I could barely get thru the story with out crying. Wow. Truly amazing.
