getting back to regular blogging
A comment from "momoftwo" yesterday: Hi Becky - thanks for answering all of the Project Life questions. As much as I like Project Life, I miss the old Becky's Blog ... about your family, decorating style, recipes and all the other fun stuff we used to see.
Me too! Love, love, loving Project Life and all the chatter about it. So much to discuss and address in these first few weeks of everyone getting up and going with Project Life so obviously, that's why my blog content is heavily steered in that direction. I'm doing my best to keep you all informed so that everyone feels comfortable as they get the ball rolling with their projects.
Now that the kits are now available at Amazon (hooray!) and the digital Project Life is launched (hooray!) ... you're going to see that Project Life content will be just an occasional mention here on my blog. Most of my attention will be turned back to other topics that I love to talk about: parenting, home, photography, organization, design, writing, celebrating relationships, personal & family history, gift-giving, recipes, creativity, cool finds, and other random topics.
-------
PLEASE REMEMBER: If you have a question about digital Project Life, there is a whole list of FAQs here. For customer support, send emails to support@ziblio.com or call 877-209-1560. Most of the questions I'm seeing are questions that are either already answered in the FAQs or can easily be answered by the fine folks at Ziblio.
-------
As I sign off on this post for today, I leave you with a POTD from last week. Porter is obsessed with Avatar. He asks us questions about it all the time. He watches the trailer over and over on my phone. He even wrote a letter to James Cameron, asking him to please change the rating to PG-7. Not kidding. And lately, he's expressing his fascination in the form of post-it art.

Naturally, a very telling POTD. This is SO a part of our family's little world right now.

Yay! Glad to see your blog going back to its former self. Not that I don't like "Project Life," it just seemed like an ongoing commercial... Thank you!
Wow, he set through the whole movie? Amazing!
I think it awesome that Porter felt empowered enough to write the letter. I hope he continues to feel that way - that one person can facilitate change. To reach out and try. So cool!
I've enjoyed your blog and learning more about Project Life.
One question, and yes, I've read all your FAQ's. Do you take all your pictures in landscape format so they'll fit in Project Life (kit version)? How would you handle those that are portrait?
Thanks!!
A boy after my own kids' hearts! They too spring into action with the letters when they see an "injustice" in the world like that LOL.
My 9YO would LOVE to see "Avatar" too (I presume Porter hasn't seen it; just the trailer) so if Porter gets that rating changed, be sure to announce it on your blog. :D
Great Art! He is talented.
Very cute.

LD, Becky and others have shown a couple of ways that you can include portrait photos in Project 365/Project Life. The simplest way is to just "collage" a couple of them together (using Picasa or another free photo editor - it's really, really simple) into a horizontal 4x6 and then print that. You can either use both of them for a "double POTD" or you can cut the double photo into two and adhere them each to a piece of 4x6 cardstock, then slip that into the photo spot in the page protector. (You can add some simple text, stickers, or even just a bit of pretty paper to the blank area.)
Now, if I could just get around to printing all those digital photos!! :D My goal this year is to not let a whole month go by without printing out my 365 photos. Why? Because otherwise I'm afraid of ending up like 2009 and not printing any, and having to do huge batches of them. I'm playing MAJOR catchup right now! Much better to print-as-you-go as much as possible. I have everything captured in my blog, but I really want a hardcopy scrapbook so - now the real work begins. :P
That is exactly why I was upset that McDonals had Avatar toys. It gets the kids so excited, but then the movie is not geared to kids under 12! Frustrating indeed!
I used to get post it note art from my kids, too! (They are now 30 and 28!) I have to confess, I still have some of those little art notes up on my bulletin board in my scrap space! The kids laugh at me when they visit now...but I am thinking when I get some grandkids...they will like to see what their parents did!
And just a note to say thank you for creating this Project 365/Project Life! Taking a picture a day has been one of the most rewarding things I have ever done!
I would love to see some traditional scrapbooking again...mainly baby pages. I really need some inspiration to get me going and I have always loved your style.
My kids have been psyched about the Avatar movie too...mine are a little older than yours though 13, 15, and 18. My just turned 18 year old daughter when out on her first date with her just turned 18 year old boyfriend to see Avatar and both were completely embarassed to be sitting next to each other watching a sex scene between two animated characters. She came home and told her brothers she didn't care what the rating was...the WEREN'T seeing it. It is really too bad how movies are hyped and geared toward kids and yet there are scenes in it that embarrass young adults. Glad to see the blog is getting back to normal. I am working on the digital version of Project Life. Love it, love it, love it.
i havent seen it but loads of it created here in New Zealand...and someone i know is in it....though hard to tell with the costumes!!!!
AND apparently the language they speak..is based on our local native language...maori...wow how amazing is that.
Can't wait to see your regular blogging again! Your blog is a favorite - you are such an inspiration!
p.s. Porter is too cute.
That is so cute Becky!!
I wanted to show you my cover page I made for my PL album. The pictures aren't great. But you can see what I made.

I will post LO's of PL soon, I need to finish my journaling.
Have a great day!
Sandy
Great POTD!! He can draw and I love that he send a letter asking to have the rating changed. That is classic!
OH! that just made me smile and laugh out loud :) SO ADORABLE! I just love the things that kids say and do!
Just wanted to thank you for the awesome digital PL. Now that you are getting back to regular blogging, would you PLEASE:) share some more of Crew's baby pages you did with the baby kit. I bought kits for each of my children and would LOVE to see how yours turned out.
Thank you!
Stacey
Avatar mimicked the Native Americans of yesteryear. The animation was so great that you viewed them as actors, not cartoons. A wonderful film that is one worth watching over and over again. I will be buying the DVD the day it comes out.
I love the Project Life concept. I go to Amazon everyday to make sure it is in stock :) Hopefully, if my budget allows, I can buy one sooooon!!! Have a great day!!! Kim
Too fun! My kids leave art taped to our walls, too. I love it. Their favorite material, though, is index cards.
Hello Becky, when will Project Life kit be available for purchase in Canada? Thanks! Ellen from Calgary
Loved your post on "Pinkalicious"! Had never heard of the book, but knew straight away that my girls would love it. My hubby bought it on eBay from the UK & it's just been delivered to me here in Sydney, AUS. Can't wait for my girls to wake up this morning so we can read it together! :)
You have a fantastic artist on your hands. I haven't even seen the movie and am not really interested in it, but from his drawings I can still tell that's what it is. Great job!
Oh, and just wanted to say thank you for being so accessible (and honest) during the launch of your new business and keeping everyone in the loop. I think that's a rare quality. I hope your business continues to grow by leaps and bounds (and maybe that will mean you'll do another PL kit for next year!!! Would love to continue with taking photos regularly and having an EASY way to put it all together).
You know Porter could be a sales rep for Post-It notes. I love his little art notes. I still have post-it art that is over 20 years old.
A minor changes (esp. with language) and Avatar could have had a better rating for the kids. I loved it, but I am always amazed when there is unnecessary profanity tossed in for shock value.

Wow! Porter's art is fantastic! What a special memory!!
Becky,
Can you post another good snack. The muddy buddies are now my 7yr's favorite snack. Tried the pork recipie with the rice just yummy. So glad you will be going back to regular blogging. Love project life but I do miss the other stuff.
Your so funny with your gloves.
Thanks
Oh good! I have missed the old blog as well. I'm sure Project Life is great for most, but it's felt like a constant commercial (not that you don't have the right to--it's your blog after all!). Glad it's been a success for you...and look forward the blog going forward.
Your POTD is hilarious! My three year old would love to see Avatar...just because of the Happy Meal toys. He says, AVATART! He thinks he is going to get to watch it. I keep telling him it is an adult movie and he says, I am a dolt. Too cute!
Speaking of "cool finds"...I have a question...have you "found" any cool jewelry/accessories lately??? I remember some of the different items you've worn in pictures...cool stuff! Have a nice upcoming weekend! :)
Cute POTD!!
I love Project Life, but am also happy to see and share more 'regular life' again!
