More on love today. Wanted to share with you an idea with Valentines Day coming up. This is actually something that we did for a few friends at Christmas time. The idea behind this — with love being on my mind so much lately — is that love is shown in so many different ways. Small and big.
One of the small ways that we can show love for our family is to leave quick notes for one another. Notes of encouragement, paying a compliment, expressing gratitude, saying we’re sorry, and even just a simple “I love you”. I have fond memories of my brothers & I putting post-it notes on the bathroom mirror for my parents. My mom kept them collaged all over the inside of the cabinet door for years.
Little expressions of post-it love. That’s it. Simple.
This is how we shared some post-it love with our friends. You can find little containers in the organizational section of WalMart or Target or the dollar store.
1. I “decorated” the top of the box with a simple label (attached with a piece of clear packaging tape). I’m more simple when it comes to decorating, but you could get really creative with your presentation.
2. The first thing you see when you open the box is a card with a note from our family, explaining what the post-it notes are for.
3. The next little card is a scripture to remind us that love is a commandment.
4. Then you see a couple of pens and post-it note pads.
5. And who wouldn’t love some candy at the bottom? Some fun red & pink wrapped Valentines candy would be so fun.
In case you’d like to do this for Valentines Day, here are a couple PDFs, ready to print.

The personal note from you should be, well … personal. So while I’m not sharing my file for you to print, here’s what our note said (click on it to see it larger):

I am just seeing this (as i scan old posts with a vague memory of you mentioning a printer you purchased fairly recently?…have i lost my mind?…) and what a GREAT idea!! LOVE it and fully intend to use it…..and PRINT these oh, so cute labels and cards upon finding out what kind of printer you use.
my HP is ‘old faithful’ but will not take cardstock, which is beginning to make me a little crazy. SO, when you get a chance will you let me know what you’re currently using for computer journaling? thanks SO much, Becky – ‘preciate it!
I did “post it love” for a friend in college one day when she was really having a hard day. I PLASTERED her dorm room with “101 reasons I love KJ”. That’s all the post it on her door said… when she opened her door she burst out in tears. The room was FILLED with 101 post it notes of reasons I love her. She was so appreciative… and felt so loved that I would take the time to do that for her. …And I meant every word of it.

I loved this idea last year! I made five boxes! I have had mine sitting on my counter ever since. I need to pull it out and use it more often!
Thanks for the downloads!
I took my son’s 5th grade Sunday School class through the church parking lot one Sunday morning with Post-it notes and a pen. We left generic love notes on every car we could get to … and did it without signing our names. From one boy’s “Cool car” note to many “God loves you” messages – it was such fun to see people’s reaction to the love we left!

I LOVE the post-it note on the mirror. It’s simple but so meaningful. I’m leaving my oldest son a note for him to find in the morning. He’ll love it. Thanks for posting.
Hello. What a LOVELY idea! I was wondering if you would make that explanation card available through email? I would LOVE to make these cards for my small group this year and I want the fonts to match up! Thanks for thinking of such a creative idea!
Would you please send me the file or link to the blank note card so I can use this adorable idea? I’ve printed the scripture cards and love note for the top of the box, but the other image is not downloadable.
