Have you fallen a little behind?

Forget about April Fools Day. (Never loved the made-up holiday anyway.) Let’s make today … Project Life Resolution Day!

For anyone who might be new around here (hello, hello!), Project Life is all about keeping a photo + story documentation of your life … without stressing over what a lot of folks don’t love about scrapbooking. It’s simplicity at its finest. Learn more here.

Note: Yes, we sold out. Yes, we’re making more. More kits should be available next month. The digital version is available to anyone, any time, anywhere … and completely free to create a book online. You only pay if/when you’re ready to have us print a book for you.

Now. For all of you who are already doing Project Life … let’s assess where we are, shall we? In the spirit of motivation, let’s talk about it. I’m going to guess that some of you are not skipping a beat. Perhaps you’re totally on top of taking a picture and jotting a note or two of journaling every single day. Kudos to you! Or maybe you’re doing a different version instead of the picture-a-day concept. You’re doing a handful of favorite photos of your baby each month and you’re able to stay on top of those layouts. Or you’re taking a different approach and doing a topic at a time for each layout. Like snow adventures. Family dinners. Spring Break. Around our home. Neighbors. School. Whatever you’re doing. GOOD FOR YOU. Keep it up!

My focus today, is really more for those of you who are doing Project Life but perhaps you’ve fallen a little behind where you’d like to be with your project. Welcome to my club. That’s me too. (Feel better?)

I don’t want anyone feeling like this has become a chore at all. After all, the whole point of Project Life (besides the documentation) is to have fun with it! And while you’re capturing slices of your life, a little here and a little there, no matter what your frequency … you should be more aware of the blessings in your life. More aware of how cool your life is. How much you love your family. How unique and truly wonderful you are.

I want to share something with you. Kerrin in Ontario, Canada emailed me recently because she had an a-ha moment. With her permission, here is part of her email:

Kerrin writes: I decided to do this POTD thing for the same reasons other people take on this project. I wanted to capture my family’s day to day life and I was ready for a break from traditional scrapbooking. So I have been faithfully taking a picture and journaling its significance daily. It had become another chore on my list each day. Until today. I realized that this isn’t just about completing a task. This is about appreciating our life and all it has to offer. It is about really seeing the beauty and joy in each and every day. It is about sharing these joys with my family. And it is about teaching my 4 year old daughter that every day is full of gifts and it is important to honour those gifts. Funny, I think that she “got it” before I did. She has been suggesting ideas for POTD and even taking a few herself. Another gift that this project has given me. So thank you Becky! Thank you for creating this kit. For making it so easy that I don’t need to spend tones of time on it. Instead I can use that time to live in the moments we are capturing each and every day.

Okay. Hello. Kerrin gets it completely. I love that.

So let’s move on to a plan of action. A Project Life Resolution. If you’ve fallen a little behind with the pace you want to keep with your own project, how do you catch up? I’ll share what I’m doing. And then, as always, I invite you to share your own input in the Comments.

I’m taking a picture a day. Zero problems with that. I keep all the daily images in a folder on my desktop labeled 2010 POTD. I am doing the digital version. Ideally I’d be going online and spending 5 quick minutes to sign into my account, upload the new picture, and write my quick journaling blurb. But since I’ve fallen several weeks behind, this is what I’m doing:

Most days lately, I am adding my POTD and writing my journaling … plus … I spend an extra 20 minutes or so going back and doing a full week that I still need to do. So every day I’m not only staying current (so as to not fall further behind) but I’m catching up on a full week because really, it’s only like 20-30 minutes a day. I can do that. I want to do that. I want to get back on track so that I’m back to a daily 5-minute routine. And now, because I’ve been prioritizing and doing this, I’m just about caught up again. Feels so good. Feels so good telling my family’s story and keeping these snippets of our life in a book.

Okay. Your turn. What are you doing to stay caught up? What tips do you have to share with others?

PS: Don’t forget that we have a new Project Life Gallery up & running now. Check out others’ photography & full layouts for Project Life inspiration at your fingertips.

Catching up? How about haven't even started? Is it too late? Should I just save it for next January?

I love how you posted this today! I posted on Facebook that I was recommitting to PL today. I lost my Dad the last week of February and got completely consumed with the services and recovering from losing him. So I didn't do PL for the entire month of March.

However, I am in a very good place now and there were some very good days in March were I took several everyday life pictures along with some bigger events like my son's 3rd birthday, going to the zoo, etc.

So you know what I'm going to do? I am going to use the page protectors to capture some of these events and…da, da, dum…use up all of the slots in the protectors for a one day layout of those events instead of a picture every day.

I am also going to insert some non-divided 12 x 12 and 8.5x 11 page protectors to capture things such as the eulogy my uncle said for my Dad. As well as thoughts about this past month.

The biggest thing I've learned is that I have a great life. The little things matter. Project Life is flexible enough to help me adapt and capture our real life with all it's ups and downs.

I love restarting capturing daily life again today. It's back to "normal" whatever that is.

Thanks Becky for leading the way!
    Heather

I love this Becky! Project Life Tuesday on The Mom Creative has been a huge help in keeping me on task with this project. It forces me to keep my pictures up to date by posting them to my blog – and seeing others do the same. http://www.themomcreative.com

I am doing digital PL and love it. Although I am taking way TOO many photos and feel like the camera is always in my face trying to capture the POTD. My photos are up to date, but I have spent way TOO much time deciding which photo to use every day. Anyone else having that issue? Which child, which story to tell? Fortunately I've kept a pocket book with little notes b/c that part is not up to date online. Again, having trouble summarizing and just telling about the POTD rather than highlights of the whole day. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated! I know there is no right or wrong way, but I'd hoped to replace our annual photo albums and am now thinking I need to still do those to have somewhere to keep the random photos that didn't make POTD but also won't ever be scrapped. Overall, LOVE PL, but haven't been able to simplify as I overanalyze everything!

  5. Jackie says:

I haven't finished last year. All the photos are in but very little journaling. Must do better!

  6. DanaD says:

Luckily I am not too far behind. I use Fridays after the kids go to school to add my pictures for the past week. I try to send them to the printer on Thursday nights (even if it means staying up late) and then pick them up after I drop the kids at school. For days when I miss taking a POTD, I use more general stuff going on to "fill in" like quirks about someone (my son smells everything), something someone is good at (another son is really good in math), stuff I like about the house (my paint jobs) or other general interest (my daughter refuses to wear a dress). This is how I "keep up" and I LOVE the project!!! Keep up the great work Becky.

I am having trouble remembering to take a picture every day… I got really far behind and decided just to use favorite pictures from the past but now I am almost out of pictures and still not remembering to take the pics… I am also using quotes that make me smile but I don't want to over use them… Any ideas how I can substitute pictures that I forgot to take?

  8. Carolyn says:

Help, what if I've missed quite a few pics in between?? What do others fill in their spaces with??

To L – no one says you have to start in January. I'm starting mine on May 14th – I'm going to document the last year of my single life, I'm getting married May 14, 2011

  10. Bonnie says:

I find the hardest thing for me is taking a picture everyday. Two days a week I'm gone for most of the day at work and just don't think of it but to fill those spaces I missed, I take two or three pictures on the same day of everyday things to fill the slots. Such as the kids current favorites, laundry, products our family uses, etc. This takes the pressure off and I can still keep up with my album. I feel the outcome is the same.

And, THANK YOU for creating such a great album!

  11. candy says:

I leave my book out on our dresser open to the correct week. That way when I get ready for bed all I have to do is write my journaling. The only thing I get behind on is uploading my pictures and labeling them. I order prints and have them shipped to me once a month. Totally loving this whole project!

  12. Slinkard Family says:

I started taking a POTD on January 1, at which time I wasn't even aware of Project Life. After I saw it on Ali Edwards' blog, I purchased it, and it has been a GREAT way for me to document this project. I have been taking photos every single day. It took me a while, but I'm caught up with printing and journaling. Now that I've caught up, I plan to use early Saturday morning time to print the photos from the previous week, and to do journaling. Throughout the week, I will often edit the photos and upload to flickr, where I will include journaling. When I'm doing the journaling in my PL kit, I just click on to my flickr photostream and capture the journaling from there. Sometimes, I do have a hard time 'narrowing down' to just one photo. However, I've decided that I can insert divided page/photo protectors in between, if I want, to add addtional photos. I'm also trying to adopt the Ali Edwards method of accepting my work as 'good enough'. No matter what I do with this project, years from now, my two year old will love whatever is in this book! It is our family….as we are right now….every day. Love it! Thanks, Becky!

  13. { Lori } says:

After being totally disorganized last year, thinking I could get everthing together…later…I decided to started a picture blog. I post my pictures sometimes daily, sometimes weekly. Everything is organized and ready for when…later…comes and I have time to print my pictures or create a digital book. It has changed my life!!!

  14. Whadda says:

so far I have been using one of those daily calendars that you can pull the days off of, as I pull off the date I write what my POTD was and some journaling for the day. Then it goes on one of the paper holder things that's like a big nail?? (you know the one's the high school nurse used for your passes from class :) ). Then when it's time to work on the scrapbook I just pull off my dates and copy over the journaling. And it's easy to tell if I've missed a picture for that day, and if I have then I just take it of something random like the pantry, someone's bedroom, favorite toy etc.

  15. KatRG says:

I love Project Life and my family loves it too. My husband and my daughter are always saying "This could be the Picture of the Day!" For our family, this isn't just about photos but really learning to appreciate and live our lives to the fullest.

I try to stay on top of things by printing my photos at the end of the week. I'll admit I was so behind and dreaded catching up but once I started putting the photos together and journalling, I couldn't help but get excited about our life. So now it's something I look forward to.

  16. Sheri Bowers says:

I have done pretty well with keeping up with the pictures, my son also helps remind me of the picture too! I had gotten a little behind with journaling, but I went to a crop last weekend and took my PL with me to just journal and get caught up … I did it!! The traditional scrappers were checking out my PL and asking me about it!! I think I sold a few more for you Becky!

I have done a few "fill in" pictures when I have forgotten a day … like a pic of my son's tennis shoes, pic of my house, etc. They could go anywhere, so I have used those here and there.

I was afraid of this kit at first, but I ABSOLUTELY love it!! It is really helping me capture our lives!

  17. susang says:

My pictures seem to be the same thing over and over. Between work and commuting I am gone about 12-13 hours a day. When I come home I make dinner, clean the dishes get ready for the next day and go to bed. any ideas on getting some variety to my daily pictures??

  18. Cheryl says:

I am not taking a picture a day for PL, but using it for favorite photos from the month as well as POTD-type moments (like my son insisting on wearing a shirt and tie with sweat pants to school this morning!) Well…that's the intention. I started off the year well and my album is all put together…but no pictures or journaling yet. I couldn't sleep 2nights ago because I was feeling stressed about being so behind. So, I decided…tomorrow I have off work (I work FT) but hubby has work and pre-school is in session. I am going to be totally selfish and take tomorrow to catch up on as much as I can…and NOT feel guilty about leaving my son in school when I am home. Well, maybe a little guilty but I need to do this for me and my family!

PS @Whadda…love that idea for keeping notes!! I may have to steal it. : )

  19. Ashley says:

Well, I'm 15, and probably not as busy as some of you moms out there, but I'm still busy! I stay caught up by bringing the journaling cards wen I babysit. When the kids are in bed, after my homework, I write. I love the process. Everything. It's so relaxing. :)

  20. Yvonne and Eric says:

I love this little kick-in-the-butt. I've been busy working on a digital photo book the last little while so now I'm ready to get back into PL. My pictures are up to date but I need to go back and catch up on my journaling. I always make sure that when I find the time to do work on PL, I do a week at a time. It doesn't take too long and it makes me feel like I've really accomplished something.

  21. Leanne Friesen says:

I don't purposely take a picture a day. At the end of the month I go to my picture files on my computer and pick my favorites that sum up the month to put into project life. All the while though I do try to keep in mind to take more/better pictures that show life right now that nornally I wouldn't think to take.

  22. Veronica says:

I have kept up on the journalling….I have beautiful paper for my Franklin planner that I jot down notes on each day…I have the photos in various locations (in a pile, on my lap top, on camera chip, at the developers, but mostly they are just gathered in a heap organized by day taken)….I have all this and the kit stuff in a beautiful scrapbox specifically dedicated to this project…when I visit the in-laws, travel for the various sporting activities of my kids…I give myself permission to take the box of stuff and organize, transfer the jouranlling to the cards, and amalgamate the parts as much as possible. Sometimes it can be for hours and hours (sleeping in a hotel is not something that comes easily). This has worked for me the last few years…especially since the amount of time for traditional scrapbooking is very limited or actually none! I plan to complete a huge chunk of the amalgamating on our cross country adventure while I sit in the passenger seat for 45 hours. What I love about the kit is that I don't need to pack hoards of supplies to complete the project…it is all in the scrapbox that fits nicely on my lap! Nothing could be finer!

  23. Christy says:

I have taken my photos, started on March 1st for the year. I'm posting them on my blog every few days with comments. I have a retreat coming up and I'll have internet access there. Hello digital PL book!

I did PL last year and the book keeps disappearing. It ends up in one kid's room and then the other. Then it gets snagged to be taken to the office with my hubby. I take great joy in watching them enjoy it!

  24. Debbie says:

You should never forget April Fool's Day… you must have never done a practical joke, even small.

I think that will be my POTD, some practical joke…hhmm, now I must think of something good.?

  25. MichelleT says:

Like many others, I fill the days that I didn't take a POTD with more "generic" pictures. I have even been known to take a few pictures in one day to catch up. Spring flowers, an open window, my kids perpetually messy bathroom counter . . . . At times it feels like a chore, but more often it leaves me feeling grateful for so many of the "little" things in life.

  26. Nikki says:

It's all about organization! I'm pretty good at taking a picture every day and I'm on my computer at least once a day. I've created a spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel with each day, then I jot a small description of my POTD. When I have time, it's usually about once a week, after I've uploaded my pictures, I pick the photo I want and add the photo number after the description. I type my journaling in Word and update it about once a week, too, using my spreadsheet so I can remember what each day was. Having a spreadsheet helps me to not be stressed, and then when I have time, I edit my photos and send them to be printed. Sometimes it's once a week, sometimes it's a few weeks or more. It works great!

  27. Rekehl says:

Some days I take "extra" pictures so on days I forget I have some extra ones to choose from. I found there are days when maybe a couple of things happen that I want to remember and instead of choosing just one event/item/memory I can still add this important moment to my Project Life on days when I forget or I can't think of anything. I don't think it's cheating, because these are events of our everyday life. I don't think the Project Life police are going to come after me! For instance one day it was my nephew's birthday and my daughter had a school friend over to play. I wanted to capture both events so I used the school friend picture on a day when I forgot. This just works for me.

  28. dawn says:

This was a great post Becky!! I have fallen a little behind on putting pictures in album and writing on journal cards. I have my pictures printed out every Saturday at Walgreen's and I write down a note everyday in my journal. I thought your plan for catching up was good. I still love this album and am enjoying the process. I read some of the comments and just want to say to
Bonnie and Caroyln: it doesn't always have to be a picture it can be anything like a receipt, movie tickets, things from kids, newspaper clipping, etc. That way the album has a lot of different real life things in it. Hope this helps.
Susang, this must be tough for you but I'm happy your giving it a shot, you won't be sorry. Some pictures you could take would be at work of co-workers, your office? you didn't say where you worked, things happening there, on your way to work have camera out you might spot something neat like deer, rainbows, cool car, etc. take pictures of your lunches and dinners ( I do that all the time) what about a book your reading, tv show, mail, your home, family, friends, what do you do on weekends, take pictures of that, go for walks and take pretty nature photos and remember to use movie tickets, bills, receipts, etc. instead of a picture also. Hope this helps, don't give up you will love this album when it's done.
Ashley, it's so nice to hear about a young girl doing this album. Good for you, it must be filled with cool and fun things. I want to do one for the last year each of my kids are home before going to college. I would love to see what yours looks like, keep up the good work!!!
wls7001…. I worry sometimes to but don't let it stress you out. Just use items around the house, mail, backpacks, tickets, recipts, etc. for some of the days instead of a picture. On some weeks if it's a bday, holiday, main event I skip doing a picture every day and do a whole spread on just that topic. On some days I take too many pictures of one kid and not the others but then the next week I try to balance it out again. I try to have nonkid pictures when I can just because I want this to be about what we did and little things we won't remember later on. Hope this helps.

  29. Bisel Family says:

I am just falling more behind… Crazy projects at our house! This prompts a question. What if I bought 4 project digital lifes…for this year, and to catch up on the last 3 years…., and I don't finish it by the end of the year? Is that okay? What is toooooo long to finish?

  30. Cassandra says:

Thanks for the reminder! I have fallen behind and need to get caught up too.

Our life just got a little more hectic as we are building a house (and MOVING for the first time since getting married and having 5 children). Also, my husband runs a home business and spring/summer is our crazy busy season. To top it off, he just got called as bishop of our ward.

I think I'll try your 20 minutes a day solution! The good thing about PL is that even though I'm slipping behind, I'm not too stressed about it because I still think it's a very do-able project. And I'm determined to have photos and in a scrapbook for the first time in years! Thanks for helping me do that.

  31. KC says:

I have yet to print out any pictures…but they are saved on my computer in a seperate folder and dated. I also import my pictures onto my iPod so that I can look back at those pictures and journal from there. When I am at work and the day is running slow…I try to make some notes in my iPod as to what was happening that day…or that picture. I need to get organized and actually carry the note cards with me so I'm not writing it down "twice".
I am excited because even though I know that I am EXTREMLY behind…it will be something I can always sit down and FINISH! Thanks Becky!

  32. Wendy says:

I take the picture nearly everyday and jot on the calendar what I took it of and notes about the day. I get the pictures printed and THEN I get behind…I have trouble putting everything in the album and doing the actual journaling. My plan was to work on one week at a time. But I figure if I have the pictures and the notes, it'll all work out and I'll have captured our life, which was the goal.

  33. mel short says:

I'm still swooning over the freedom of digital PL! I knew I would get overwhelmed with keeping up with one picture every day, so my plan is to do each layout differently. I have some layouts that are just one day, like a birthday, some that are a whole vacation, some that document a milestone, and some that are just us livin' our lives for a couple of weeks. I'm planning one that will be a day-in-the-life format. I update about once a week, or when I get a group of pictures I'm excited about. This is the first digital scrapbooking I've ever done, and I love it!

  34. Britiney says:

Thanks, Becky! It's just nice to know I'm not alone.

  35. Kelly says:

I was doing so well…until we moved, and I lost my creative space, and my list of things to do could not possibly include PL. I know, it's just a few minutes a day! But they were minutes I didn't have. My PL stuff is in a bag, and some days I can hardly find my camera! (Plus, I can't leave it out: two-year-old boy.) So, I have all these blank but dated journaling cards going back a month making me feel guilty. I will TRY to let that go as I continue to get settled after the move. But I will tell you this: nothing has excited me so much about memory keeping in a long time. I hope to catch up soon!!!

  36. Pam's Place says:

I'm pretty much taking a picture everyday. Sometimes I feel like a day is 'ordinary' or the same routine as the day before, so I use 2 pictures of a fun day before or like you write Carolyn ,when you forget a day, I try to use something I found that day: a note, or a card a friend sent me, a cinema ticket, a magazine clipping or just fill it up with scrapbookpaper or an embellishment!
I already love flipping through the album!

  37. snarflemarfle says:

Thanks for the little nudge! I was just thinking yesterday that I haven't uploaded any of my March pictures to my digital book yet. I've got pictures and I've got the journaling in my calendar, but I need to add it all to my book.

I think I'll go work on that right now and listen to the beautiful spring shower storm we're having (it's beautiful because the weathermen have assured us there will be no tornados today…woot!).

  38. Joslots says:

I have just caught up on my project life. I really enjoy looking back over my album when i am having a down day and think taht I don't spend enough time with my kids. When looking back over project life I can see that I do spend lots of quality time with thema dn it makes me feel so much better.

  39. Lynette says:

My project was going wonderfully until late in January when my son was diagnosed with an AV Malformation in his brain directly behind his optic nerves. He has now had to episodes that has resulted in him losing a significant amount of vision in both eyes…since then it feels like my life is on hold and I am struggling to get into or start any new projects. Hoping for some calm waters in my stormy seas so that I can get my life back on track.

  40. Stephanie says:

Sundays are my days. I plug my camera into the computer, click on the images I want for each day of the past week (I usually already have them pegged in my mind), edit them, then order them. Then, I get out my scrapbook, I have already inserted EVRERY SINGLE JOURNALING card into its correct LO-CAL. I pull out the cards, jot down my journaling and slip them back into place. After I pick up my photos at the store, I simply place them in their corresponding LO-CAL and I'm done for the week! This whole process has gotten so systematic, I can get it done in less than an hour. Plus, since Sunday is such a stress free day, I find my kids and husband like to gather 'round the book to see what I've picked for the week. We are really enjoying the book as we go! It's awesome:)

  41. scrapwordsmom says:

Love that you posted this!! Okay…here is what I have been doing…

I started mine in February. I already have every journaling card in the binder plus I put the dates on the larger cards at least a month in advance then put in binder {I am dated up to June}.

My goal it to take 2 to 3 photos that I can put in the binder for each week.

Since I keep my photos on the memory card I have my PL notebook and write the month on top of the page…followed by the weeks {ex. March 15-21} and write down the photo. That way when I have them developed I will know where they go if I forget.

Since the journaling cards are already in the binder I take them out and catch up. I am caught up to yesterday. I am writing down something from every single day.

Also, periodically I'm writing down oddball stuff…what the kids are into right now, our fave meals at the moment, music we listen to, etc.

This project is really inspiring!! I LOVE it!!! Thanks so much Becky!!!:)

  42. Deirdre says:

So appreciate this post today. I spent a good hour yesterday trying to get caught up. I did great until we went away for the first week of March, and haven't caught up since. Had so many great photos from our trip, and wanted to spend time editing them in PSE.

Last night I got two weeks done. I hope by the end of this week, I'll be caught up.

Now I think the digi version would be easier—getting to the store to upload and order with 3 little ones is a challenge. But at the same time, that has been the BEST part of PL for me—actually printing our photos for a change. And my kids getting to see and hold the album as we go—that's been the best motivation.

I know there will be these speed bumps along the way but as long as I don't give up and make it overwhelming to catch up, it will be good.

  43. BR says:

I'm proud to say that I am up to date! But a missed a week or two here and there last year and here's what I did:

My 4 and 8 year olds each have a camera. They take random pics from time to time. I uploaded their photos, each kid having a folder on the PC with their pics. I wondered what I might do with these since there were very few actual "good" photos where you could actually tell what they were trying to photograph. Well! I decided to fill my empty P365 weeks with some of the better photos and shared tidbits of what they enjoy or any special meaning behind pics they took. The pics weren't actually taken on the dates in the completed album but they were meaningful little tidbits all the same. I also filled another two weeks with pics of each kid's room, mess and all, from different angles.

  44. Laurel says:

I'm using ShutterCal.com to do the first pass on my Project Life. I like that site because my family and friends can see the pictures too. Once or twice a week, I upload the pictures to my Project Life album and transfer the journaling over too. It's working great so far and to me it doesn't seem like twice the work even though technically it is I guess. :)

  45. fiona says:

I am enjoying Project Life. Each afternoon (or every second afternoon) I download my photo and copy it into a folder "printing for Project Life". I also have a word document where I paste the picture and write a comment about the day. On Saturdays when I get my pictures printed, I just open my word document to remind me of which picture for which day and copy and embellish the comments. I put photos in of events, like the recent Easter Hat Parade with my class or family events. On days when I don't do anything out of the ordinary, i take photos of my classroom with the students' work hanging up, or a good piece of work, or even a flower in my garden. I have a few stock pictures I've taken in the past, like my husband at golf and I use these too on days where I haven't got around to taking a photo. I'm also being taught Photoshop by my daughter and I play with mini layouts of vertical photos which can be printed 4" x 6" to go into the photo slots.

I am treating project life like a journal of the year, and try to include pictures that say something about me and my interests as well as my family and my class.

Last year I tried doing P365 and by Feb. could not keep up. So this year I restarted the album. We assigned each of member of our family a day of the week and the weekend is misc. Many times I'll ask my kids to decide what they want for their POTD. If we have a special week with a family activity, I just make those the pictures for the whole week. It's a lot less stress on me (coming up with ideas all the time) and the important thing is…it's April and we're still going! :)

I decided from the start that I would not take a photo every day, but rather choose 8 photos a week, or some memorabilia and photos. I found this didn't put any pressure on at all, since I take heaps of photos each week anyway. I am a week behind, but that is because my 11 year old daughter has taken over this week and we need to go through her photos and print them so she can journal. Can't wait to see what she comes up with!

Best of luck to everyone and HAPPY EASTER!

  48. random thoughts says:

I write my journalling over the top of my POTD. It can be done in word or photoshop. Journalling and photo all done in one. I either then get these printed in bulk to fit baseball card pockets or 6×4 pockets. These sleeves can then be embellished as per Ali Edwards style.

'Special' moments are scrapbooked as per normal and placed in the Project Life album. I find this much more time effecient and I can keep up to date.

As for photo ideas when things may seem a little repetitive – I have a bank of photos of things that are truly everyday moments e.g. coffee, favourite bowl, breakfasts, school routine, desk at work and so on. I use these to 'fill the blanks'.

I too have fallen behind and you don't know how thrilled I am to learn the Backy has too. Sorry, Becky, but glad to know you are human too! :) Anyway, love your idea about 1 week at a time plus the current day. That is so do-able.
Thinking next year I will do more of a random events type book rather than POTD. I told myself that would be a piece of cake, but it has proven not to be. I've seen some books that are just random and that I know I can do. Hard to pick just 1 photo from an event sometimes…
Anyway, Thanks, Becky, for the inspiration!

  50. just me says:

I have kept up pretty well with the photos but I am using some of the smaller slots each week for adding bits of our lives – movie tickets, a cut out piece of a cake mix box when my daughter and I baked, interesting clothing labels from new purchases.

I also have a folder of "stock photos" for days I forget/can't take a photo. These are photos of everyday activities like my nightly bottle preparing routine for the baby or coffee making in the morning (photos I have taken but not used because there is a better photo that day). These photos are relevant every week so I will just use them when I am out of anything else.

Thank you for the "boost." I have fallen so far behind. I am bad about getting the pictures printed and I guess the journaling as well(although I love to journal :) . I am not keeping up with it as well as I thought I would and feel overwhelmed again! We homeschool our five children and like all moms, am just plain busy! Also looming over my head are two baby albums I need to complete…I am glad scrapbooking is such a relaxing hobby to me or I fear I would quit! But, I will not as preserving my family memories are just too important!

  52. I was looking for in regards to finding pictures of digital scrapbooking and how to buy a scrapbooking kit.

  53. shop online says:

One of the benefits of shopping online is that it helps consumer saves time. This suits the current lifestyle of most people who are rather busy and have difficulty finding time doing all their shopping at physical stores. With online shopping, they can cut down on their traveling time. Furthermore, if the product they want is not available in the physical store, they need to go to another store to find it. With shopping online, all these inconvenience can be avoided.
