This little renewed hobby has resulted in a couple more pieces lately. The pots were both really terrific to start with (and great bargains to boot). Now they’ve become a boost of beauty around here.
There’s definitely something therapeutic about arranging flowers. For me anyway. So what is your hobby that has the same effect on you? It’s therapeutic in some way. Knitting, fishing, exercising, painting, doodling, gardening?
Go on. Tell us.

Organizing and decorating give me great energy! I LOVE making things more efficient and beautiful at the same time. (And scrapbooking ranks right up there too!)
I love your arrangements Becky. You are starting to inspire me to try it. My question for you though is do you do anything special to keep the clean? I've had some silk arrangements in my house but they seem to be dust magnets.
Your arrangements are great – so nice that you've "found" this creative outlet again. Mine? Scrapping (have taken your classes & love them) and gardening and blogging about it. Love to have you come visit.

Becky, these are so great! I really love the pots, where are you finding these? I need to come visit AZ and all these great places. My favorite hobby lately? Exercising… just finished a triathlon this last Saturday!!! And I've been into redoing furniture too. A little bit of everything.

DesI was a floral designer for years and it was the only job I ever really loved.
These are so pretty! To clean my silk arrangements, my husband takes it into the garage and blows it with the air compressor. Another think I do for an arrangement that has a lot of big leaves . . . give it to my kids who wipe each leaf individually–I pay them a dollar and they think it's great!
Flea Marketing – finding treasures and seeing things I grew up with give me energy and get my creative juices flowing.
Becky these are so beautiful. I love the colours. After your first floral arrangement blog I tried it and made something for our home. My creative outlets besides scrapbooking are home decorating, cooking and recently making hairclips for little girls.
These are gorgeous!! The colors just pop against their containers. LOVE IT! LOVE IT! You have such an eye and talent. Thank you for sharing. Are the flowers real? If not, I must know where you got them… and the vases. What are you using to hold the stems?
Becky, those arrangements are gorgeous! How do you do it?! My therapy comes in the form of papercrafting, for sure! Card-making, scrapbooking, and trying new techniques are my creative outlets.
SEWING!!!! I love taking a piece of fabric and turning it into something useful.
and even better than that… teaching someone to sew! My two faves wrapped into one.
Very pretty!
I hate to be a pest, but can we have the March pages for the school album? Pretty please?
My most relaxing things to do are: crocheting, organizing, photography and my scrapbooking/journaling. All of which I do better while listening to John Mayer, Chris Tomlin & MercyMe. It helps me get in my creative zone. Beautiful flowers and awesome pots. Love the color combos.
Gardening, organizing (anything)and scrapbooking my kids of course!
Golfing, definitely golfing. Nothing like smacking that little white ball down the middle of the fairway. Just wish it happned more often. (;
Love the flowers! Finishing a book and scrapbooking. Even sometimes, though I hate to admit it, cleaning.
Sooooo gorgeous!!
Quilting, Gardening, and Exercise (preferably bike ride. Unless I need to work off some angst – then running).
And now I'm off to try to find a quilt pattern that I can make hugemongous for our 2 story foyer. It desperately needs sound dampening.
Scrapbooking
I just love it. Especially going back and scrapping older pictures of my boys when they were babies… I love the sighing over pictures and remembering even a few years back.
Question?? Would you ever put up links to your fav blogs? Like on the side? You sometimes direct us to ones you like but a permanent list would be fun. I've enjoyed all the ones you've mentioned previously.
Scrapbooking and gardening. Your arrangements are just beautiful.
I was also wondering if you were still posting your school layouts. We have had so much fun doing them in our K / 1st combo class. Thank you for all of your inspiration.
art journaling – without a doubt! LOVE it.
Oh, what pretty arrangements! I can't wait for our roses and tulips to start blooming so I can make some pretties of my own to put around the house
For the last year, I've been finding that running is very theraputic and rejuvinating. I started off only being able to run a few blocks up the street to now being able to run 4-5 miles a day! It really clears my head and allows me to have some solitude.
Love the blue container and the arrangement you created in it! The thing that best soothes my soul is sitting in the forest watching and listening to nature. Making the day perfect is having my camera, binocculars, journal and a snack with me!
I am sure other crafting stores sell similar products, but Hobby Lobby sells a spray called "silk n' speldor" that you simply sprey down the plant with it and allow it to dry and all the dust is gone! I LOVE IT! So easy
Wow. The colors in your arrangements are gorgeous. Love them!
Dancing! Oh how I love to dance! It is so therapeutic for me. Besides scrapbooking and card making, I just love to dance from ballroom, salsa,to the tango. I love me some dancing.
gorgeous! I love arranging flowers too. I wish I could do it more often. I LOVE the colors you chose and those vases are perfect! You have a wonderful talent.
These arrangements are FABULOUS! Is there anything you aren't good at?
These are arrangements are beautiful. Love all the color and how bright they are. How do you decide on what to put in each one. I've been looking to start one and there's so many to choose from that I get overwhelmed and walk away. Also, where are you putting these could you show us a picture of where they end up. I love the pots for both of these. I love scrapbooking and recently decorating with more of my kids projects. Thanks for sharing.
Wow! Are those "Real" flowers? They are absolutely lovely arrangements.
Photography is very therapeutic for me, love it!
So beautiful Becky!
WHERE can others find these lovely pots and flowers??
Please share!!!
My favorite hobby is photography. It helps me see the beauty in the world around me and I feel more grateful for my life when I see all of my blessings in pictures.
Scrapbooking is my therapy. It helps keep me sane in my family's crazy life.
For me, photography!
I love all forms of papercrafting, but Scrapbooking's on top of the hobby-list!
I also enjoy reading very much and love to cut recipes from magazines and think of when i'm going to make it and for who.
I like to surprise co-workers with cupcakes or muffins!
I love my papercrafting hobbies like scrapbooking and cardmaking, but what really relaxes me is my knitting!! I pick up my needles and start knitting a few stitches and all the tension of the day disappears. I sit and knit while watching t.v. (or more listening to be exact!) every night! I have also learnt how to spin my own wool in the last 6 months and that is also very theruputic. Also love taking photos (I have way too many hobbies!!). Love your blog, I visit every day! Your fan from South Africa!
Sometimes scrapbooking stresses me out since I feel 'behind' or overwhelmed, so I recently starting quilting and I like the defined process – start to finish, but with all the cool fabrics out there (some by scrapbook designers) I feel it's similar. Quilting for me is my new stress reliever!
Hi Becky,
Just wondering where you are finding these colorful vases? All in one store or just lucking out in different spots?
Thanks!
Tracy
Scrapping is therapeutic for me.
i love to scrap. okay my list is looong!! i love to read with my kids, workout, bake lots of cookies, love taking pictures, drawing is one of my hobbies that i am trying to get better at. i love to write with pen and paper…there is just something about the feeling of writing…different from typing. weird i know.
Organizing is very therapeutic for me – even if it is helping a friend organize a space in her home! And, o course, scrapbooking!
Love the arrangements! The colors are so great–where do you find flowers and pots like these? I know silk flowers can be pretty costly but these would certainly be worth it.
GORGEOUS arrangements Becky. You make it look so easy!
Cleaning and organizing are very theraputic. However, I would LOVE to sit down for a couple of hours and zone out while drawing without any interruptions. That is therapy my dear friend.
Fantastic colors, Becky! Is there anything you can't do???? I play my guitar and the piano when I'm in need of some sweet catharsis. Music always makes me feel better.
crocheting after the kids are in bed and I am tired is so relaxing. Organizing and cleaning is great way to vent off negative feelings.
Those are GORGEOUS. Seriously, flower arranging is a talent I do not possess and would love to.
My hobby/relaxation is blogging after Finn goes to bed.
My husband teases me when I say that I need therapy. For me, it is making cards, blogging or scrapbooking.
Becky,
Do you have any suggestions on bridal party gifts using my scrap supplies?
Gorgeous! Love the containers! I love to garden, we need some warm weather so I can pull out the old flowers and put some pretty fresh plants in. I really want to plant some basil and tomatoes! Love them in pasta and salads!
I love canning.
I often refer to it as my therapy of choice!
People think I'm crazy, but there is just something about being in a kitchen, sweating, and working away at filling hot jars with tomatoes or jellies.
It truly is therapy!
I just love it!
Where did you get that second container? I love it!!
Emily
