I would love to nominate my mom, Melinda, to have pictures taken. She is always behind the camera taking pictures of everyone else and never actaully in the pics, so this would be a great oppertunity for her and my dad to have some nice family photos since they have not had any professional ones of just the two of them since their wedding, 26 years ago!! Thank you for the opportunity and your generosity. I am always behind the camera, taking pictures of my two beautiful children (age 2 1/2 and almost 7) alone or with my husband. My husband and I will have our 10th anniversary this year, a milestone we will mark with a renewal of our vows after having survived a rocky period, and it would be so wonderful to document our renewed and recommitted family with a family photo shoot.
I would love a chance to drive to the Cities for some family pictures. I just recently graduated from Bemidji State University with a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education. I cannot think of a better gift than to have some family pictures taken. We have never had pictures taken together as a family … our daughters are 9 and 4. In fact, the last professional pictures I have had taken of myself and my husband are our wedding pictures from 11 years ago. Family pictures would be well worth the drive.

We live in Apple Valley, MN. My husband and I have been married for 10 years and have 2 children. We have never had a professional photo taken of the whole family. Neither my husband or I like having our picture taken, I think we have always been too focused on our flaws and shortcomings. I enjoy taking pictures of my children, but I think it will be sad for them when they are older to not have any good photos of us together as a family. My husband has not had an easy time in his career for the past few years, we have just been scraping by with help from our extended family. Shortly after our 2nd child was born I made the mistake of pre-paying a decent chunk of money to a local photographer for future photo sessions with our family and soon after she filed bankruptcy and now I’m out the money. I love your photos! You really have a talent at capturing the natural expression on people’s faces. I especially love the black and white of the little boy on the bike! Priceless! I would really love to have you do a photography session…but not for me (as much as I would love it). Instead, I am nominating my brother and Sister-in-Law, Tim and Stacy, for this session.
Tim and Stacy tried for over a year to get pregnant. Finally, they were blessed with the good news! In January, they found out they would be having a baby girl and named her Jada Grace. Everything was going great, no complications. On the evening of Tuesday, April 21st, just two and a half weeks away from her due date, little Jada was dancing around in Stacy’s tummy…so much so that their pet cockatoo could even feel it when sitting on her belly. The next day, Stacy went in for her routine check up. The doctor searched and searched for a heart beat but could hear nothing. An ultrasound was done and at that time, the worst imaginable words were spoken “I’m sorry, but there is no sign of life”. The baby they had hoped for for over two years had passed away. Jada Grace was gone.
The following evening, Stacy was admitted to the hospital. She had to endure the unthinkable. She had to give birth to a baby she would never hear cry. On the afternoon of April 24th Jada Grace was stillborn into Tim and Stacy’s life. They walked out of the hospital along and in that same week, they planned a funeral for the daughter they never got to know.
But, there is a happy ending to this story! Just a few short months later, Stacy got the wonderful news she was pregnant again with another baby girl. They have named her Fiona Grace. Stacy is just three weeks from Fiona’s due date and is scheduled to be induced this Wednesday. I cannot think of a better gift to give my brother and sister-in-law who have been through the unthinkable. I know they would treasure your talent forever!

My husband and I have no children, hence we don’t get many pictures taken of us together. I’m always behind the camera taking a picture of him at our travel destinations and during holidays.
