one piece. two colors.

I came across this piece on clearance at Roberts (a craft store in Utah) earlier this year. Didn’t love the color but it screamed painting potential! I loved that the frame came with an adjustable stand and I loved the texture.

A few things to note:

1. The name of that reddish-orange color of spray paint is Paprika, purchased at our local Home Depot. It’s such a bold, pretty color.

2. Love the contrast with the stand which is now white.

3. In the before shot, that’s just something random that Porter drew and wanted me to put in a frame. Apparently it’s an asteroid hitting the ocean. Pool little fishies.

Paprika spray paint is my FAVORITE spray paint color. I spray painted huge, carboard (that look like wood) A B C’s for our playroom and that’s the color I chose for the letter “A”. I couldn’t be happier with the results!

Great job! The frame looks great!

You know it’s funny b/c I love both the before and after equally and don’t know which one I would prefer! I would probably get stuck on the natural and just leave it. I love the look of white or cream with some of it sanded off! Having said that, I don’t have a since item like that in my home b/c my hubby has a different style, so we are combining it, and once our additional closet storage solutions are done, and I have organized things then I will start looking at the small things that make a house look more like a home. Thanks so much for sharing and for the great pdf tips file on spray painting, I can’t wait to try it down the road when I am ready.

So cute… I’m convinced that Home Depot must think that you are a closet graffiti artist! If they only knew! Please keep the ideas coming! I think I am getting brave and want to try soon – I have a couple of pieces that are screaming for a paint change!
