pretty in pink.

For the record, I do think this frame in its original form is quite lovely. But with all the color in our home, it was out of place — the color, that is. I think I got this frame at WalMart years ago. Can’t remember for sure, but I think it’s a really terrific frame and I wasn’t about to get rid of it.

Instead, I gave it a simple facelift. I went for pink on this and I love it. The name of the color is Berry Pink (Rust-Oleum brand; got it at Home Depot).

I LOVE the Berry Pink! Recently my two girls, ages 9 and 5, wanted me to change their pink on pink on pink little girl bedroom into something “older”, but a recent job loss made redecorating impossible. Enter spray paint. By grabbing various accessories, frames, large (24″) initials on the wall, baskets, and shelves and painting them Berry Pink and citrus orange, we now have a pink, raspberry, and orange room that definitely has an “older” feel to it…for the price of three cans of spray paint! Yay!

With all of the color you now say you have in your house (and the bright, cheery colors you’ve been showing us all week), I’d love a peek at your counters, consoles, and nooks that have all these colorful items displayed. It must be such a difference from your previous color scheme! Any chance we’ll be seeing some cheerful home pics soon?

Becky this is off topic, but I totally thought of you today when my LSS introduced their new We R Memory Keepers D-ring albums. The colors are bright & fresh and totally suit you. There’s Vanilla, Strawberry Pink, Plum & Aqua. I just ordered the Aqua one. Check them out!!

      Carolyn,

Where in K-W did you get the D-ring. I find it hard to find good colours locally.

Hi Becky. I loved all your spray painting tips this week. I’ve been collecting a few things that I am going to try spray painting…so excited to try it! On another note, I’ve noticed the yellow lazy-susan (I think?) in your kitchen pics. I love it and was wondering where you got it. Thanks for all the inspiration!

    Becky,
I keep reading about what you are painting and now I am eyeing all kinds of things in the house that would benefit from some inspired spray painting! Thanks for all the good ideas. You mentioned a decorating, home, living type magazine a month or so ago that I keep looking for in the store and can’t seem to find it. Could you post the name of it again?

Hi Becky! I love the hot pink color!! I, too, would love to see a wide shot of some of your rooms to see how you incorporate your pops of bold color in your home. I remember about a year or so ago, your color pallete was more earth tones. I love the change!
    Happy Father’s Day to David!

I got home from our great visit with our daughters family in Ca. She has 3 little boys age 7,3 and 1.On Sunday our 3 year old came into the room where granpa and I were and we were in our church clothes already as he was and I asked if he was ready for primary and he said yes and then said Granma you look like a priness and withour skipping a beat he said granpa I want to dance with her! Wow my heart just melted. How fun and loving grandchildren are. I just wanted to share this special moment with you.

  10. Ok, totally went out and bought the key lime paint the other day and it is, hands down, my all time FAVE!!! I got a black 2 tier wire basket at the thrift shop for 7 bucks, painted it, and now it sits on my counter filled with lemons & limes in all it’s glory :)

So I was in the Salvation Army the other day searching for something…anything that I could: 1. use and 2. spray paint!! Left empty handed this time…but I’m gathering frames of all kinds for a spray painting party and new memory wall I have plans for. I continue to be amazed and inspired each and EVERY time I visit you. “Thanks” just doesn’t seem like enough, so how about “thanks with sprinkles on top”!!

Becky, I think this is the first time I’ve posted on your blog, but I have to tell you what an inspiration you are. I know you must hear that all the time, but just in so many ways you have inspired me! From scrapbooking (sooooo love project life!) to being sure to capture and enjoy all those little moments that go by so fast to making me excited about trying something new to decorate our home! You are awesome! I haven’t picked up a spray can yet, but I am so about to! :)

And btw, I LOVE your kitchen table chairs! Where did you get them? Just what I have been looking for!

    Thanks for being GREAT!
