weekend food + online class winners

Hello Monday and hello to you. This week means September is already here (seriously — where did the Summer go?). I’m so in the mood for Fall which means I have some fun ideas & projects to share with you this week.

In the meantime, I enjoyed a little extra time in the kitchen the past several days. A couple social functions called for a variety of yumminess. These were the most recent treat. Also made these a few days ago. David found the most beautiful, huge mushrooms (love you, Coscto) for one of my favorite appetizers.

You may notice Crew, who can and will find a way to reach anything and everything. For the love of pushing buttons. That picture on the right? That was when I was adding the cream cheese to the mixture. I doubled what the recipe called for just to try for a creamier texture. Yum.

Hey, switching topics — congratulations to two winners who now have a free seat in the online blog design class:

1. Christine in New Kensington, PA

2. Sandra in Guam (*fun side note: My family lived there 1972 – 1974 … before I was born)

Christine and Sandra: Email customerservice@beckyhiggins.com and we’ll  get you all hooked up.

Everyone else: If you’re interested in learning how to design your own cool blog or give yours a personalized facelift, take advantage of the Early Bird special today & tomorrow. It’s $5 off of the class – so folks who sign up on these days will get the class for just $30! And also — everyone who takes the class will get a one-time use 40% off coupon towards one of Crystal’s digital kits. Very cool.

This just in from Crystal & Kristina, the instructors: “We are also offering a class Add-on Kit for those of you who just want our pre-made designs & don’t care to design your own. Parts 1 & 3 show you how to navigate blogger & upload your images. So technically, you could take this class without ever touching Photoshop….just skip Part 2: Design Basics. The add-on kit is $20 and will include: 20 Backgrounds, 20 Generic-Themed Banners, 20 Post Dividers, & 20 Pieces of Happy Art.”

The weather in this part of the world certainly says fall. I was a bit sad but I’m all for new projects. It’s something to look forward to. Thank you for brigthening up my day.

Love it when I’m not the only one filled with excitement for Fall. Was truly planning to wait until next week to haul out the Fall (Halloween & Thanksgiving, too) decor, but the last couple of mornings here in Yuma have been so awesome, I just couldn’t wait. I’m just having the best time puttering around our home, deciding where and how I want to display each and every item. And, yes, my pumpkin pie candle is doing its aromatic wonderfulness! Happy Fall, Becky!

lol at Crew though I know its not funny Becky, I have one like that by the name of Cody but i went and spent a well worth $200 on a gate to keep him from the kitchen, he likes to push and touch everything hes not allowed as kids do but he just has ear thats don’t seem to work and saying no is a no go lol so the gate went on and now i have a nice little time out area for me to go to without him able to follow till he figures how to climb over the gate that is lol…..

The mushrooms look lovely! This will be my first fall where the leaves won’t change color, and it’s a little sad. But I’m looking forward to your fall projects!

  5. Megan says:

Im laughing a little at your “im ready for fall” comment. You live in Phoenix! There is no fall! But pretending is always fun… :)

  6. Jenn C. says:

My kids are always under foot in the kitchen. The 9 month old is the worst right now:)

  7. Sandra says:

OMG, I am so excited to have won a spot in the online class!! This is too much fun. Thank you!

While I wasn’t on Guam between 1972-74, I know today’s Guam is very different from back then. Anytime you/your family wish to come out, I’d be too happy to show you around!!

    • And HAFA ADAI to you Sandra, where America’s Day Begins!! We loved our 2 years of living in Guam! We hope to be able to return there someday and see what the Island is like now! Kiitos for the invitation!
