I call Sun City, Arizona home. I am a graphic-designer-turned-photographer and a graduate of Arizona State University. For six years I did graphic design work for my church until I had my twins and decided to stay home. I’ve since turned to children’s photography as my main job (well, #2 to being a mom to my three kids). It started out as a hobby. Like every other mom I just wanted great pictures of my kids. It has since turned to a business and I’ve enjoyed it more than any other work I have done.
{ Kimberly Lund } Picture was taken by Shawna Taylor Photography.
I live in a small town just outside Wichita, Kansas and I grew up in an even smaller town in central Kansas. During the school year, I teach special education in a transition classroom for three year olds. Some days I can’t believe I get paid to do something I love so much. I started scrapbooking in 2000, switched to digital in 2004, and now I dabble in hybrid art journals as well as digital layouts.
I also love to read and many weekends, you’ll find me with my laptop turned off and a good book in my hands. My family also loves to go on vacation and our two favorite spots are Branson, MO, and Walt Disney World. I’ve been blogging since 2005 at document life now. Sometimes my teenage son helps me out there. I turned 40 this past summer, and I’m raising teenagers. I’ve never been happier.

Home is in South Australia along with my husband and our 3 young children. I work part-time as an architectural drafter but have taken time off work to care for my 4-month-old baby. Actually work seems like a pleasant and somewhat distant memory now compared to the constant demands of this little guy!
I started out initially paper scrapping a few years back now. One day about 5 years ago I was editing some photos on the computer when it occurred to me that I could add some text and just print it out. This worked well and I was feeling quite pleased with this new approach I had figured out … only to find within days that there was a whole digital scrapbooking industry already out there.
I turned my hand to designing for digital scrapbooking about a year ago at Two Little Pixels. It started off as a hobby but I am enjoying the design process so much that I hope to branch into card or surface designs. My label is called Jot and Scribble and my personal style is more towards the crisp and simple side.

{ Lauralee Lemon }
My name is Lauralee Lemon and I live in the Cleveland, Ohio suburbs with my husband and two children ages 3 years and 3 months. I’m a stay-at-home mom and love it! It’s wonderful to be home for all the little moments. But when I do need a break and a little creative me time I like to craft, sew, make cards, design on the computer, and dream about painting (it’s not realistic with a 2 bedroom apartment and young kids).
In 2006, I worked a short nine months at DCWV, a scrapbooking company, designing papers, stickers, etc. It opened my eyes to the possibilities of Illustrator. Most of my computer design is for my kids, my house, or projects for friends. I started an etsy shop a year ago called YellowMums where I sell printable birthday and learning paperie. I also have a craft blog by the same name [yellowmums.blogspot.com] where I post a free printable weekly.

I live in the quite Northeast corner of Connecticut. I enjoy reading, going to concerts, wine tasting, laughing, entertaining, and spending time with my family and friends and newborn son Graham. I began my love affair with graphic design in college where I was studying advertising and took a class in graphic design. And the rest is history.
I now work in higher education as a Graphic Designer and Marketing Manager for Student Activities. The atmosphere is awesome and the students are wonderful. I tried my hand at designing my wedding invitations 4 years ago and found a new design niche that I loved. What was once a small hobby has now turned into a very big hobby. I enjoy designing all sorts of invitations, announcements or thank you cards for friends, family and people I get to know through word of mouth.

Ada, I think Becky said she was going to have the cards available in the size for Costco Xmas cards, which made me think that one could get a special deal like you do with the pre-made Costco cards. Anyone know anything more about that…?
P.S. Love the cards! Congrats to all the winners, and thanks for sharing a bit about yourselves too. Love to read about fellow scrapbookers and designers!

LOVE all the designs! Am having a hard time getting them to work. Does anyone have any tips. I am trying to use fotoflexer.com. I don’t have PhotoShop. Would love any help I can get! Thank you!
Wow! Thanks to you, Becky, and to all of the wonderful designers who contributed. It’s going to be very hard choosing just one.
Quick question… can you please pass on what FONTS were used in each of the cards? I’d like to maybe add my family’s name on the card, if it works into the design.
Thanks a million!
Kristin
I love the designs. I used all five of them, added my pictures, uploaded to my favorite printing site and ordered 50 of each. All I need it envelopes. Thank you, you don’t know how much. I was actually contemplating hand making my cards this year even though I don’t really have time. I appreciate that I got a cute, unique card without all the effort.
These are wonderful! I really want to use one of these for our Christmas cards this year. I am CLUELESS on how to do this though! Anyone mind telling me how this works if I want to go through Costco? TIA!

Soooo excited to have my design chosen and be among these wonderful designers! It makes the world feel a little smaller knowing that my Holiday card design will be sent to so many people
I want to use these SO BAD! I esp love the pink and green card;) But all are super cute! I don’t have photoshop either and am pretty clueless on how to input my pic onto the card:( Is there anyone out there that is willing to do this for a small fee. I want to use these card so so bad and have them printed at costco! Thanks!

Hi Becky.
I have a couple tips regarding Costco. I made my own photo cards this year in photoshop. I made them in the 6 X 7.5 inch size but when I picked them up. It cut off a little bit all the way around it. When I measured the photo card I printed, it was more like 5 15/16 inches by 7.5 inches. Although, it also cut off a little bit on the wider part (the 7.5 inch) too. Just FYI. I will have to resize next year or include a little extra room around my card so nothing gets cut off.
Also, if you go to Costo’s photo website. There is a “MORE” tab when you look at the holiday photo cards. If you click that and scroll to the bottom, there is a “custom template”. You can order your own personal cards that way and they include envelopes automatically.
Hope that’s helpful. Happy holidays.
Thank you for all your generosity! You have saved me so much time (when I need it most) & we will have a beautiful card for our family & friends this year!
Thank you for the wonderful cards. I am sending my out tomorrow. I used Aviary.com to ‘photoshop’ it and then added a ribbon and stamped image to the final print. I used to make them from scratch, but using these wonderful templates, I am so much happier with the print quality and it was so easy. Looking forward to next year’s contest already =)
These are AMAZING! Thank you so much!!!

Hello,
When I design custom invitations, I offer to design custom postage for my clients to complete the look of their invitation package. The party starts when the guests open their invitations, so setting the tone of the party with the invitation is important. But even before the envelope is opened, the first impression the guest has of the invitation is what’s on the outside.

I am having a hard time finding the link to download. Was sent from tip junkie…any tips? to help me download? Are these templates still available? =)
Hi Becky–are these templates still available? When you click on the link for the cards it takes you to the personal yearbook?
Morgan
Morgan – Glad you asked – I was wondering the same thing. These cards are wonderful and I would really love to download them. Hope to hear a response.
Yes, it looks like it’s still available. If you click on the link above and get to the yearbook page. In the right hand side of your screen, there’s a scrolling list of available free downloads. The holiday card one is the fourth one down. I just downloaded them and it worked just fine. Enjoy!
Thanks Becky for having the contest and kudos to the designers
Gorgeous when will we be able to download them?
