I hope your weekend was splendid. Today we are going to dig a little deeper with Project Life. You’ve asked a lot of great questions. I have answers, information, and lots of pictures.
Buckle up. I have lots to share.
When will the new Project Life products be available for purchase? Will they be here in time for Christmas?
Mid-December. We don’t have an exact date yet, but the kits are due to arrive at Amazon sometime in the next few weeks. Those of you who follow my blog (or follow my facebook or twitter feed) know that I’ll be doing my part to communicate live updates as we get closer and know more. Amazon is incredibly efficient so if all goes as planned, they’ll receive the products and be able to ship that very same day. Everyone who orders at the beginning should have no problems getting their products in time for Christmas.
…
Where do I buy this stuff?
We sell our products on Amazon.com and that is where orders are fulfilled. We also have arrangements with a few international distributers for those outside the U.S. (see next question).
…
I live outside the U.S. and want to order. How do I do that?
New Zealand customers – click HERE
Australia customers – click HERE
Finland customers – click HERE
Canada and all other countries – click HERE
…
Can I pre-order?
U.S. customers – Unfortunately, no. Amazon doesn’t work that way. The product has to be physically in their warehouse before taking & fulfilling orders.
Non-U.S. customers – Yes, you can pre-order now (see previous question).
…
Are there any kits left from the Original Edition of Project Life (2010 design)?
Nope. They just sold out on Black Friday.
…
How much do the new products cost?
$52.99 for the Turquoise Edition (Project Life kit)
$52.99 for the Amber Edition (Project Life kit)
$12.99 for the Turquoise binder only
$12.99 for the Amber binder only
$6.99 for a package of 12 photo pocket pages – Design A
$6.99 for a package of 12 photo pocket pages – Design B
$3.99 for a box of 100 journaling cards (blank with grid design)
If you click HERE you will see all the new products on one sheet, with their respective prices, ready to print.
…
How much will shipping cost if I order from Amazon?
Amazon offers “Super Saver Shipping” which means if you spend $25 or more, your shipping is free. This is good to keep in mind if you want to get smaller priced items. Just add them to your Project Life purchase so you don’t pay shipping on little stuff. Click HERE for complete details and fine print — directly from Amazon.
…
Will there be a digital version of the new designs?
Absolutely! We will be adding 2 new designs to our digital Project Life products — The Turquoise Edition and Amber Edition will both be available this month. More details coming. In the meantime, if you have questions regarding the digital version of Project Life, your questions will be best answered in one of these two ways:
1. Click on the FAQ tab HERE for an extensive list of answered questions.
2. Contact the helpful, knowledgable folks at Ziblio (pronounced zib-lee-o): Email support@ziblio.com or call (877) 209-1560. They’re the ones who have made digital Project Life possible and they know more than I do.
….
What comes in the Project Life kit?
If you’re familiar with the 2010 Project Life kit, it’s just like that. All the same stuff. If you’re new to Project Life, click HERE to get familiar with the kit contents. Here’s a look at some of the NEW stuff for the Amber Edition:
You’ll notice we did add NUMBER stickers. Yes, DAY stickers are still included.
And here are some components from the Turquoise Edition:
Both kits include a date stamp.
Is the binder the same thickness as last year’s binder?
The binder is less bulky this year. Here’s a comparison shot. (You’ll notice that the new binder doesn’t have all that extra space above the rings.)
The exact dimensions of the new binder are:
…
Which photo pocket pages are included in the kit?
You will get 54 of Design A (since most people take mostly horizontal pictures).
If you would like to buy additional photo pocket pages, these are sold separately as well. They come in packs of 12.
If you would like to buy photo pocket pages that hold vertical photos + journaling cards (known as Design B), these are also going to be available in packs of 12.
…
What are the exact dimensions of those 3×4 journaling cards?
2 13/16″ x 3 13/16″ — just a smidgen smaller than 3×4 so they fit in the pockets comfortably. They have a very light grid design to guide you in keeping your journaling straight, whether you are writing in vertical or horizontal format.
…
I’m a visual person and feel a little uncertain about putting the kit together. Help?
An insert comes in the kit, which will guide you in getting started and give you ideas on what to do with your kit. More importantly, I will be sharing a video here on my website that will be very helpful. That will become available mid-December.
…
I love both new designs. How will I ever be able to choose?
Flip a coin, get your family’s opinion, or … just buy one of each. : )
…
Which kit are YOU using?
That’s top secret information. Kidding. Actually, I’m not entirely sure yet. I love them both!
…
I’d love to share ideas with – and ask questions to – others using Project Life. What’s the best way to connect with other Project Lifers?
We have a brand-new Project Life Community — very exciting! Click HERE to check it out. It’s completely free.
I’m new to your website/brand. Can you explain what Project Life is?
Project Life simplifies how you document life and preserve memories. Simply pair your photos and journaling with the striking, pre-designed components from the kit and you’ll end up with a stylish masterpiece that represents your life or whatever occasion you choose to record. With Project Life’s beautifully simple, all-inclusive format, deciding what supplies to use will become obsolete, leaving you more time to experience life.
…
Isn’t Project Life about taking a picture every day?
Sure, if you want it to be! But no, it certainly doesn’t need to be about the picture-a-day format. The reason I like to say “Your Story. Your way.” is because Project Life is entirely flexible to meet your needs.
Want to take a picture every single day for a full year? Great! You’ll have everything you need. Want to do just one layout per month? Perfect. You’ll get like 4.5 years worth of scrapbooking with this one kit.
There are sooo many different ways to use the Project Life kit. Check this out — I love this idea from Emily, a blog reader who recently shared how she plans to use the kit:
She says, “Next year, I’m going to assign each week a theme, and then focus all my pictures on that theme. For example, one week will be food and I’ll take pictures of meals and snacks that week. (I plan on doing food once each season so that I can have an overview of faves for the season.) On birthday and holiday weeks, I am going to take pictures to highlight that person or holiday (hobbies, room, decor, traditions, etc.) Other ideas are favorite outings/places, clothes we’re wearing, time of day (like take a picture of whatever we’re doing at 3:00 for the whole week, 10 am another week, etc.), outside, hobbies, extended family, what’s inside some of my drawers, sunsets each day, friends, family talents, etc. There are tons of ideas, and I’m sure I’ll think of more as I go, and I’m sure there are so many others who have ideas for weekly themes as well!”
…
What about a school kit? Are you working on that?
Um, as soon as I come up for air. : )

I love the Turquoise set, so pretty. I didn’t do the Project Life in 2010 but I really want to in 2011. Hope I can get a kit this time!!
LOVE the Amber!!
Anxiously waiting. Thanks for the Q & A. I am so excited about documenting this year using Project Life. Off to sign up for the community!
LOVE LOVE LOVE that the cards have words on them, and not just pictures…beautiful!!!
I’m going Amber. Even in a household with all guys, I’m going with girly!
LOVE this. I have a question for you – what is the weight of the kit for shipping? I live in the UK and have friends in the US who have said they will send it to me, but I am curious what the weight of the kit is. Are you able to share that? Thank you!!
I love the amber too. I’m desperately trying to decide if I will go digital this year. I kinda want to, but then when I look at all the cool stuff, I kinda want to have it in my hands… decisions…decisions…
they are both lovely….I can’t decide!!
Can you sell the design journal cards separately also?
Just want to say… YOU ROCK! It is so refreshing to see someone with a business that actually cares about the customers as much as you do. You are so honest and open about sharing information. I really appreciate that and I know others do as well. Thanks for the great kits and extras, but I especially want to thank you for listening (and really hearing) your customers!
I’m so looking forward to this year’s designs! Great job!
THANK YOU for thinking of those of us who love to take vertical shots. I appreciate being able to purchase alternate photo pages. I have been…creative… with my vertical shots with the 2010 version.
I love how you pieced the kits out as well. My album from 2010 is not full, but I did tons more layouts that I ever would have without it. I may add some of the newer elements to my current album since there is room. Woo hoo!
I’m so excited that the new journaling cards have no numbers! It was a cool idea, but it honestly made it more work to make sure those days occurred in the week. I’m so excited for the AMBER edition!
Natalie,
I never thought about matching the date to a number on the card! Not thinking of that is quite strange for me….
I circled 14 when I wrote about DS2′s new [size 14] shoes, circled numbers that totaled my husband’s age on his birthday, and a few other times I’ve circled numbers. Usually I just ignore them. Heck, I wrote over the numbers yesterday!
~ Jean
I agree that the numbers were a lot of work for me too – matching the photos to the date – making sure I didn’t repeat the same card in the same row – etc. VERY happy that there aren’t any numbers… the stickers are a great compromise however.
Have you heard about Amazon moms?
http://www.amazon.com/gp/mom/signup/welcome
It’s free, and best of all, amazon.com offers Prime free shipping membership for the first three months (just in time for Xmas!). A great way to receive your Project Life a little cheaper.
I know you have a ton on your plate, but I’m tempted to buy an album just for my son’s School of Life kit that is too big to fit my other albums. I’m trying to wait to see what you have planned.
Thanks for all the info—love the new notecard designs!
Love, love, love the turquoise kit! I wasn’t going to do this project again in 2011 but now that I see the new kits, I think I’m going to have to. I didn’t actually take a picture every single day. Sometimes I just added my grocery receipt or gas receipt or whatever instead of a picture. The kit really made completing this project very easy and “do-able”. Without it, I never would have kept up. Thanks Becky!
Oh I love the turquoise kit. I love the journaling cards. I love how most will work vertically or horizontally. I want, I want, I want.
But I started last year’s kit in September. sigh. So maybe I’ll take the risk and wait until mid-July or so before buying the next kit. The contrast would be fascinating – this year I am focusing on my twin sons’ last year of high school. I am amazed at the number of “last time for this” events! Next year, I would be documenting our first year as empty-nesters {for the most part. except holidays and breaks.}
Decisions, decisions.
I was one of the last to purchase the original Project Life and ws trying to find the original video you had on your blog that showed how you put it together. I would like to view it again but can’t seem to find it. Is it still out there and if so, can you point me in that direction? Thanks so much!
Robyn, I think you’re looking for the video done by Tammy.

If the link doesn’t work, go to the Project Life section of Becky’s site, then kit version, then getting started. There’s still a link there.
Thanks so much for the info!
Thinking about going digital for next years project….amber for sure, i’ve got two little girls!!
Hi Becky,
Thanks for the update. It’s great to see the extra photos of all the supplies laid out too.
I was just wondering what you would use the number stickers for. I know that everyone’s use of their album and supplies will be different but I can’t think of how to use them .
Could you please share your ideas?
Thanks
Ooh how I would loooove to buy a Life kit, but shipping to Holland costs more then 80 dollars!
That costs more then the Life kit it selfes. I feel sorry for my self . :>( I think I have to move then, it seems like all the fun stuff is happening anyway overbroad..:>)))
1. Would the two sets worked together if I bought both..not sure about color.
2. Will you post when the items are about ready to be received by Amazon or do we just find out that day when they are there and ready for ordering.
Kits looks great
Love, love, love the turquoise album! Can’t wait to be able to order. You are absolutely amazing, Becky. Thank you so much for continuing to share these fabulous ideas and projects.
Love the new kits–but I am WAITING for your new school album–I have school pictures and stuff that I don’t know how to organize and you can’t really find your old school kit! HELP!
I am so excited to try the digital version this next year and gonna have to go with the turquoise one. Love it. I am so proud of myself for sticking to the project for two full years. Toward the end, when I get tired of the “picture-a-day” format that I’m sticking with, I look back and am so grateful that I hung in there. What a cool way to see our whole year in pictures. Makes me realize my life isn’t all that boring after all! I love my chronological scrapbooks – that’s just me and my style. So with Project Life, I only need to scrap the big events that have lots of pictures (trips, holidays, etc.) in another book. And, of course, a yearly album of my 3 yo grandson.
Thanks Becky. You’re the BEST!
Thank you for the close up pictures. I was all set to go with the turquoise one and now that I see the pieces for the Amber I think I am going to have to do BOTH!
I can’t wait!
Hi Becky, Can your page protectors be used in other albums? Would the holes fit the rings in a “we are memory keepers” album for example. It might help with catching up on the years gone by but mixing it in with the pages I have already done.
Thanks
Thank you for explaining things in detail. That answers a lot of questions. Love both kits. But find it hard to live without Amber Edition. This will be my first year doing the project 365. I have thought about it for the longest time. My kiddos are growing up so fast and I would love to capture their moments and funny things they say. I know I would treasure my project 365 for years to come. And someday my kiddos would too….So, thank you from the bottom of my heart for putting so much thought in planning this super amazing kit.
[...] years. And here’s something I betcha didn’t know: Kerri is the main designer behind the Turquoise Edition of Project Life. Yep – she’s that good. : [...]
I LOVE these designs! Definitely considering purchasing one, if I’m not too late.
I’m disappointed that last year’s red color will not be returning. But I like the option of using vertical photos, and I really like the new Project Life Community. I can’t wait for January 1 so I can start my 2011 journal.
Thanks for posting the album dimensions. This year, I used the older Project 365 kit, and the album that came with that is a little bigger than this one, and it doesn’t fit on my IKEA Expedit where I keep the rest of my 12×12 albums. That 1/8 inch makes a big difference. Thanks!
I was wondering what the point of the number stickers are? I just got my kit and am starting to put it together. I assumed they would be for the day of the month- but if this is the case I was wondering why there are no zeros included to be able to make the 20th and 30th of each month. Has anybody resolved this issue? Thanks!
