Thank you so much for sharing! I’m off to get a flat iron, bobbie pins and the dry shampoo. Two years ago I decided to stop coloring my hair and to just embrace my gray. Now that my hair is finally long… I’m so excited to try some of your hair styling tips!

  3. Deborah says:

Thanks so much for sharing the tips!!! I really needed to get some ideas on what to do with my hair!! I’m ALWAYS putting it up in a ponytail and I need some STYLE!

  4. Janie says:

Thanks so much for this simple…REAL LIFE… video. I have natural curl to my hair and it is getting to a length that I want to chop it all off. This was totally amazing and helpful, I am going to practice tonight. How SIMPLY beautiful!! I am excited to try this, thanks again!!

  5. Lisa says:

Love the tips! Thank you so much for sharing them with us. I always wondered how you got your hair to look so cute. I’ve got a newborn at home and need some cuteness in my hair these days!

  6. Gretchen says:

Thank you SO much for this video! I’m a new mom – my baby boy is 9 weeks old and I feel so frumpy from the lack of sleep and lack of time… This is such a stylish and fun way to spruce myself up! Thanks Becky!!

  7. Christin Dukes says:

Thank you for this video. I too am looking for some cuteness and this was awesome. I am asking for a flat iron for Christmas and am off to buy some dry shampoo and spray wax. Your hair was so beautiful and romantic!

  8. Super cute video & hair dos! Now to only find a do for my curly hair! this I will try tho!

  9. Karen W says:

Love the look – you are so funny with your before pictures!

  10. Heather K. says:

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I was *just* saying this morning that I seriously am bad at fixing my hair. I always wear it down because I just don’t know how to do anything else with it. Also, I have very fine hair that really doesn’t hold curl and gets oily very quickly…I wash every day because of it. I am definitely going to get some of that dry shampoo and some of the hair wax and see if I can recreate your hair style. Thanks again!!

  11. KatieK. says:

Thanks so much for the tips. While I have short hair, I’m slowly growing it a little longer – wanting to feel “more hair’ as I get older ‘cuz comes a time I won’t be able to… I never learned any tips for hair styling growing up from my mom – she was a no-fuss lady – must be the reason I have had short hair all these years. Always wondered how other moms, girlfriends, ladies had such great hair – you’ve done alot of us a great service by asking how and showing how its done. Thanks again. I’m inspired to keep trying.

  12. debbie susee says:

    So super cute! Great idea.

  13. Heather V says:

Thank you so much, Becky and Becki! I’m off to base curl right now…

  14. Talia says:

AAAHHHH!!! I looooved this tutorial from both of you Becky’s!! Soooo fabulous!

  15. Denise Montgomery says:

Okay, this is fabulous! I think I can actually do this! Thanks so much for this tutorial!

  16. Angela says:

So I curl my hair about every other day with a curling iron, ending up with a similar look to what you have…I’ve tried the flat iron method and can’t make it work for me…anyways…I’m always looking for something else to do with my wavy hair the day after I curl it…love this messy, little house on the prairie style…adorable! What a great, practical video! Thanks! and I’m headed to Ulta later today to get some of that spray wax…I hope it works on my hair!

  17. I am SO excited to try this for myself. Frumpy mom is on her way OUT the door! :)

  18. Cathy says:

I LOVE hair tips! Thank you!!!

  19. ShellyJ says:

LOVE this video. you have the cutest hair for sure :) OK. so do you really think this would work on hair that is completely poker straight and has no body to it? i have no curl what-so-ever and when i try to curl it, it just doesnt stick. my hair is gets greasy by the second day so I have to was ‘er every day or it is just ick. so would this be worth my cash to pick this stuff up and try it, or not? thanks so much!

  20. Judy Webb says:

Now neat. She really had a cute model to work with!!

  21. Shara says:

love, love, love it….thanks-i’m going to be rocking cute hair all week now!

  22. Sue says:

Hi I am wondering if there is a way to get extra 12×12 sheets of cardstock from the project life kit. I love the patterns and colors.
    Thanks.

  23. Brandi Osborn says:

I loved that video-thanks so much for sharing it. I can’t wait to try that on my hair tomorrow!!

  24. Jane Logan says:

Fantastic!!! Thanks to Becky and Becki!!! That is awesome – off to curl with my flat iron! Thanks to Wendy too!

  25. Nicky Hurt says:

Cute! I can skip the curling part, but I love the style and I SO need to get some of that dry hairspray for when I’m camping! That’s the worst! I don’t know if I could go 3 days without washing though. Love the style!

  26. Alison says:

2 cuties!! I really enjoyed relaxing watching that…too fun, thanks :) I’m like KatieK in her comment and never learnt this kind of stuff from my Mom so it’s cool to learn from you :) But it helps if you start with looking as cute as you do ..I’d look a tad…er…different!! lol

    • KatieK says:

Allison, what is funny is that in all the old photos of my mom (’40′s and early 50′s), she had such the do’s – the pinned up curls, etc the hair styles of that time. You know the ones that for sure didn’t just look that way out of the sink or bathtub or shower. Somewhere along the way, my sister and I had to find out for ourselves. So both of us floundered as teens hair wise… But now! We can learn anew.

  27. Leslie A says:

So, I have a totally lame/maybe stupid question….do people wear a shower cap when they need to shower, but don’t want to wash their hair?

    • Stacey says:

Yes! I wash my hair every other day (sometimes 3rd if I’m pushed for time), and I use a shower cap. I found mine at Wal-Mart for under $1 for a pack of 3. I even travel with my shower cap.

  28. Cilla says:

Becky, thanks for the video, my hair is pretty thick but I’m going to try this and see what happens. Also, just wondering, your skin looks so great, what is your skin care regimen and what type of foundation do you use?

  29. Michelle T. says:

For anyone looking for a Chi flat iron- I bought mine on Overstock.com. It was actually affordable that way. Thanks for the video Becky!

  30. Tara M. says:

Thank you so much! I have thick natural curly hair and have been fighting it for years. I think I can manage to try this out. Oh and the dry shampoo, have to get me some of that!

  31. Lori says:

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Becky for the video!
My daughter who lives states away from me sent me a gift card, for my birthday in June, to a local salon near me. I had not had time plus I really did not know what I wanted to use it on. Hey, there were way too many choices! :) I finally called yesterday and they had an appointment last night. WOW!
Why did I wait so long.
Yep, I needed your video to kick me in the butt!
I love it and the gal showed me different ways to blow dry, add product and more. Thank you for that “kick”!
Oh yes, a BIG thank you to my daughter too!

  32. Hope says:

Ok, I’m ashamed to say I just sat and watched the entire display of cuteness and I’m a little bummed that I have short short short hair. So lovely!! (and fun to watch!)

  33. Susan says:

THANK you for doing something like this – I seriously needed some tips. . . now i’m gonna go dig out the bobby pins and play around.

  34. Jenn Serrano says:

Love the hair syling tips! Question for all you ladies…… I am 35 and I have all these cute flowers, headbands etc, but I feel like I am trying to look too young when I wear that stuff despite the fact that it does look cute… what do you think?

    • Alicia says:

Jenn, I totally understand. I am 32 and even work in a salon, but I always feel like I am trying too hard, or like I am trying to look 20 years old when I sport cute things in my hair. Becky doesn’t, so maybe we wouldn’t either. Hmmmm…might have to play around with something. I just don’t want to look like a mom that’s trying to look like a college student ;)

    • Stacey says:

My rule is if it looks like I borrowed it from my 3YO, I won’t wear it. There are plenty of cute, age appropriate hair accesories out there.

  35. Rosa Nissenbaum says:

ooohhh…. L.O.V.E.D. this! Thanks for sharing and coming up with yet more interesting videos. ;)
We ladies can never have too many hair tips… perhaps some makeup tips next Becky?

  36. Christy B says:

Thank you for great tips. I have fine hair and curling iron is not working well. I wanted to give a try on flat iron. Im curious what inches is that flat iron? IS Cho best products than other models?

  37. Angi in CO says:

Love the before and after pictures! Makes me want to grow out my hair… Thanks for the tips!

  38. Angi in CO says:

I say go for it! I’m 38. I have an almost 20 something and we have VERY similar tastes…I never worry about trying to look like I’m her age (I’m sure I liked it first! lol) If it looks good and helps make you feel good, I don’t see any reason why you shouldn’t wear it!

  39. Angi in CO says:

(My comment before this one was in reply to Jenn Serrano’s question a few posts before…forgot to enter the CAPTCHA code!)

  40. Sheree Flick says:

Okay so this morning it was POURING RAIN outside so I thought, “Oh, the perfect lazy day.” I threw my hair in a nasty ponytail and sat around in my sweats. Then I got on your blog and I felt seriously gross. I hooked up my curlers and twisted and pinned my hair. YOWZA!!!! I can’t wait to show the hubs later, I felt so “romantic”, I even did my make-up-a rare sight. Thanks so much, it was SO EASY and it looks so pretty too. :)

  41. Stacie says:

Thanks so much for these AWESOME tips! I’m off to get some of that product :) Thanks again!

  42. Thanks B & B! Can’t wait to try out all your tips. I just bought a Chi flat iron last month and didn’t realize I could also use it as a curling iron. Thanks!

  43. Morgan Greaves says:

Love the tips! Thanks Becky…such a nice change to the ponytail I love to wear most days!!!

  44. Luannw says:

Becky, Thank you for the great questions that I was thinking like how to use a bobby pin and what is dry shampoo.

Becki, Great ideas I am inspired!

  45. Denise says:

Awww, I SO LOVE IT! I saw a girl at the mall the other day wearing this same look and was wondering how on earth she did it. Now I know! Thank you!

  46. meagan says:

oh my goodness!! I loved this!! thank you for sharing such helpful tips! :)

  47. jenn says:

Thanks for sharing this video. I’ve been trying to figure out how to curl with a flat iron for a while now! I love the headband that Becki is wearing!

  48. Carey says:

I LOVE this! I really needed some new ideas for my unruly wavy hair. Thanks!!!

  49. Kristen says:

    that was awesome!!!

  50. Catherine says:

I just saw the video and had to try it and it turned out super cute! Thanks for the cute idea, I hope there are some more to come!

  51. Katherine says:

Great tips. I actually tried it on Christmas Eve and it was so easy. Thanks Becki for the product recommendations. Moms need to look cute too.

  52. Kristie Wickland says:

If this wasn’t THE BEST video! My daughter (16) is loving it too! SO IT HAS TO BE GREAT! so simple…

  53. Amy says:

Thanks for the video. Love the tips. Question for Becki: How often do you wash your hair? I wash every other day but it sounds like with products like the dry shampoo I could go a little longer. It would sure take a huge chunk of time out of my morning routine if I didn’t have to wash and dry my hair.

  54. Jen N says:

I love this video! Where did Becky get the headband. I have been looking for some cute ones like that!

  55. Stacey says:

That is seriously one of the most helpful online vids I’ve ever seen. I often think about how hair stylists just do our hair and send us on our way without any direction as to how to achieve those looks on our own. Not that it’s their fault. I just need a hair education. My poor hair is straight and boring. I have a Chi flat iron though! I am so excited to play with these ideas. Thanks, Becky and Becki!

  56. Shelli says:

What advise is there for people who work out EVERYDAY and who have very oily (dark brown) hair? Is there a good dry shampoo product out there for me??
