Like so many of you, I am saddened to hear about the devastation in New Zealand as a result of yesterday’s earthquake. I send my love and my prayers to those of you in that area … and many more affected from a distance, with loved ones in New Zealand. In remembrance of the beautiful city of Christchurch, I am posting pictures on facebook & twitter throughout the day, from our visit there in 2004. It is truly one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

Cant quite believe the devastation we woke to this morning. We are so grateful for your love and prayers. I too live in the north, but have family in Christchurch and have lived there. Am dropping off blankets, sheets and towels this morning to a truck that is driving down supplies on friday.
We are resilient people here in Nz, but this has totally knocked us for six.

Many thanks for posting these beautiful photos, a bright memory amongst the devastation in Christchurch at the moment. New Zealanders are a nation of survivors and pioneers and will come through this stronger as a nation
We are humbled by the offers of help from around the world, it is much appreciated xxx
Your photos are just stunning, it is hard to believe this has happened to Christchurch. Thank you for reminding us of the beauty of this city. I live in Dunedin and we felt the earthquake here which was pretty scary so we can’t contemplate what it would have been like in the garden city. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Christchurch – we will do everything we can to support them to rebuild their community. Knowing that others around the world are sending their support too is amazing and comforting. Kia kaha New Zealand. xxx
I have such beautiful memories from my short time in Christchurch. I will be visiting there in early April. My heart aches for those who wait and wait. Prayers and love to you all. God bless all of you as you search, rescue and rebuild.
Thank you, for the pleasant photograph, which can only be a distant memory of our beautiful Avon River in our dear city of Christchurch. Your today, is now our yesterday, which is a day that not many of us wish to live through here again. We are shaken, moved but so fortunate to be alive, when many of our friends and loved ones have not been so lucky. So please take a moments silence and wish us well as we struggle forward after two major quakes. I have no home after the first quake, and even less after this one, but in my heart I will create a new dream. A dream of transformation for the precious people and the lives of the people in my dear city. Wish us well, your kindness is acknowledged and appreciated, our journey may be tough, but we will rise like the phoenix from the rubble and will re-create our lives.
Love, Compassion and kindness
We are all so very devastated by the Quake. I am in WGN, but have friends, family, and work colleagues in CHC. My husband also left as part of a Rescue Team yesterday to assist in the rescue of people. It’s devastating, but we are so grateful for the support and love of people from allover the world. Thank you Becky for caring. Our gratitude to you all.
Thank you, Becky, for these beautiful pictures, and for your thougths and prayers. I live in Wellington, but have friends in Christchurch. My heart goes out to all of the families who have lost loved ones, and pray God’s peace, comfort, strength and courage for the people of Christchurch as they try and pick up the pieces of their lives.
I’m thinking of you, Sally-Ann, Fiona, Sharon, and Lynley.
Wow – this looks like Disney World! Such gorgeous GREEN. TFS.

I was so excited to receive my PL kit on Tuesday…..less than an hour later disaster struck here in New Zealand. Becky, I knew you were a special person before this latest deadly Christchurch quake, but now I’d like to thank you for sharing your beautiful photos – they brought tears to my eyes at a time when horrific scenes reminiscent of 9/11 are etched in our minds. Sally-Anne, your words are also very touching and I want you and everyone else directly affected by this tragedy to know you’re all in our hearts and our minds. NZ mourns with you. xx
My prayers are for this beautiful city and it’s people. God bless Christchurch.
Thanks so much for posting this, Becky. I’m here in Christchurch and so thankful that my family and I are OK.
Thank you Becky. I’m here in Christchurch as well and still very proud to call it home. Such heartwarming stories of neighbours helping neighbours and strangers helping strangers. We have just had our power restored after nearly a week and suddenly feel connected to the world. It also means we are able to actually see now what has happened to our city and the people in it. We will definitely get through this – one day at a time.
Waaawo… Oh my God.. Very nice and professional shot !!! Thank you Vicki..
