…..
Happy Spring! (for those of you in the Northern Hemisphere) Something about the weather change means organization is on my brain. For some reason, I’ve never really “organized” my jewelry but that’s what I was recently in the mood to tackle. So I went on a little field trip, found these EVA brand drawer organizers at The Container Store, and got to work.
I already had a jewelry case, which I found at Razmataz about 5 years ago. It has been home to my accessories, but the drawers were cluttered and messy and I was easily forgetting what I had. The necklaces, however, have always been easy to keep organized on the hooks that came with this piece. The best thing about hanging necklaces is that it prevents potential tangling.
I got a few different configurations of EVA organizers to go in my drawers. For small earrings …
Larger earrings …
Bracelets and cuffs and watches …
And along the way, I came across things I kinda forgot about. I also came across plenty of items to donate. Some to my five-year-old daughter who is suddenly into jewelry (she is loving the “new” treasures!), and some to Deseret Industries, where we donate most of our unwanted items. And ONE of those things I’m donating to one of you!
Anyone interested in this little number? I made it myself years ago. It was one of my very first attempts at making jewelry and it is still intact. If you’re interested, leave your first name, city, state, and tell me if you want it for yourself, a loved one, a charity, or what. I’ll announce a winner on Wednesday this week.
Oh, and one last note on the topic of jewelry, because I know the question will come up: Where do I find my favorite pieces? Some of my all-time faves are from traveling, since I like to pick up a little something whenever we go somewhere new & different. I’m also partial to pieces that others have made for me … such sweet gestures. I’ve found some really fun things at boutiques too. Forever 21, Target … I don’t know. Just random places. I never spend very much for any one piece. Not my style.

I love the bracelet. My initial thought was that I would donate it to the Dolphin Scholarship Auction we have coming up but honestly after the night we had, I would give it to my mother in law. My father in law had a heart attack last night and it has been a long night. It would be a little smile in a long week.
Love the bracelet, and of course it’d be for me! So wishing we had a container store her!

You know what? That is really pretty! I love red. But so does my mom, who is still recovering from pneumonia associated with lung cancer. I think if I win this, I will give it to her for Christmas…and the red will fit the season! Everyone could use a little pick-me-up…and a new scarf or wig to cover her lack of hair is just not what I want to do.

I would be donating this bracelet to a mom who will be facing Mother’s Day this year with their critically ill child in the hospital. Each year our foundation collects donations from family, friends, and prayer warriors from all around to stuff and create sweet gift bags to bless moms of PICU, NICU, and Oncology children who will be in the hospital as patients on Mother’s Day. We also supply bags to moms staying at the respite homes that are close to our local hospital. On Mother’s Day there always seems to be a few moms that we pass in the hallways that catch our attention and a bag suddenly find their way to them too. Let’s face it, no one wants to spend Mother’s Day in the hospital facing what some of these moms will face with their children. Sadly some will be in a place wondering if their child will even live. I give thanks for my children and will forever be grateful for my gifts. Life can change in a heartbeat. This has been an amazing project and it grows in size every year. Each bag ends up a little different, but none the less, blesses the sweet mom who receives it on Mother’s Day. Knowing that I cannot take these circumstances away, it is my deepest prayer that parents facing these heartaching experiences with their child, feel loved and cared for during these most difficult of times. Hoping that the bracelet showcased will find it’s way to one of these Mother’s Da Bags this year! Thanks for reading.
oops forgot to say Baltimore, MD
i neglected to mention that i would be giving this to my beautiful god daughter for her first communion gift. i think it has her written all over it.

Beautiful! I would most definitely donate it to Cinderella’s Closet. I am the director of it and it is a ministry/outreach program of my church. We are a non-profit and our mission is to provide formal gowns and accessories FREE of charge to Junior and Senior high school girls who could not otherwise afford to attend their prom/formal. We collect donated dresses/gowns that are in excellent condition and accessories and turn our Living Faith Center into a beautiful boutique for these girls who are referred to us to shop for the perfect dress! But, we are MORE than a dress, we provide an amazing and wonderful experience and treat these girls with love, respect, kindness, and encouragement. We feel that by staying in school and doing what is expected of them, despite whatever hardships or circumstances they are facing, they have earned that right to attend their Jr. and Sr. prom/formal. This will be our first year and we are so excited to welcome these girls and treat them like the Princesses they are. We rely totally on donations and I know your bracelet would be a welcome addition. I will even put a tag on it with your name and blogsite. You never know, they just might like the Project Life. Teenage girls take lots of pics! Ha! Also, you are the kind of role model we like for these girls to know about!
Some beautiful young lady I know would love to have that bracelet go with her red, black, silver, or whatever color dress she chooses!
Thanks so much for the chance to win Becky, you are truly a girl after my own heart…a giving one!
Blessings!

Great job organizing the jewelry. I’m the same way this time of year! I feel selfish for saying I’d love to win the bracelet so I can wear it. I’ve just gotten into bracelets the last few months. I’m trying to wear more rings too. Thanks for the chance.

Wow, I love the things that help us organize, even though I’m not great at it. I would love to have it for my girly girl who loves bracelets. It would be self defense so that maybe she won’t play with mine anymore. haha. Thanks for your generosity.

I haven’t got any good ideas for your bracelet….
But I have to tell you that just this morning I went through two jewelry drawers – the first time in years. So I laughed when I saw this post!
I buy Christmas ornaments from places I visit – they’re tucked away most of the year. I like remembering the places when we decorate the tree each year.
I realized years ago that I was buying way too much costume jewelry. I made a vow that I can only buy specific jewelry. The design has to be people-related” – a face, a hand, heart, whole person. I still find plenty of stuff!
How beautiful!

I will be donating this bracelet to my best friend, Ruth. She is a breast cancer survivor of 1 year from Stage 3. She lives in Australia and me in the USA. We have never met. We have been pen pals since 1977 when we got “assigned” as pen-pals through the children’s show ” The Great Blue Marble “.
We have gone through college, marriage, children and now cancer together.
Ruth would be thrilled to wear this bracelet.
We both have exchanged different items of breast cancer awareness throughout her 2 1/2 yrs of treatments.
I hope I win, Becky.

I would love this beautiful creation to give to my niece. I live 27hrs from her and it kills me to live that far away from family. She is a darling, she turns 12 at the beginning of April and it would look lovely on her as she steps from a primary child into young womans. Such a bigs step in life for a 12 yr old. She did a school project at school a couple of weeks ago on “who is your hero”. She chose me, her Aunty from Canada. She said so many wonderful things that made me tear up, and gave me thanks for being ME.
What a great girl. She would love it.

Hi Becky! I am never lacking amazement at your organization skills. I had never considered purchasing a jewelry armoire until now. I do however have a random question….you had a post quite some time ago of a beautiful yellow stone necklace that was in the shape of a large flower, and it was on a leather necklace. Where did you see that?
Thank you for everything that you share with your adoring fans. You are the best!
Many blessings,
Rikki
Honestly, I would probably keep it for myself.
