The suspense is killing me! I cannot wait for all the releases…..the reprinted kits, the childhood/school items, and the 2012 kits. I am like a child waiting for christmas, only I don’t know exactly what day christmas will be here
.
We don’t either Jacqueline. As soon as we know dates we will share.
I am in my third year of PL. I like all the parts of the kit coming together at one time. I know you try REALLY hard and it’s a new business for you, but it is extremely discouraging to see “sold out” or for PL kits not to be available. I’m sure you were surprised by its popularity so didn’t order enough to cover demand. Also, even if it cost more, couldn’t the kits be made in the US? Wouldn’t that make it easier to reorder in a timely fashion? I do appreciate having this opportunity to use your wonderful kits.
Thanks for your feedback Sandi. Be sure to check out the update on the Products page. It is intentional that we aren’t reprinting the full kits because we’re not going to continue making the full kits as they have been the past couple times. We are very excited about moving forward in a direction that will enable you and our other customers to order what you want and nothing that you don’t. : )
I think a big part of the appeal of your products is that they reach out to non-scrapbookers and encourage them to document life. I know people who don’t consider themselves ‘artsy or creative’ and would more likely buy a kit that includes everything they’ll need rather than have to choose components. It’s easier to steer people to your products when there is no guess-work involved for them. Not being scrapbookers, they don’t KNOW what they’ll need, and I think it discourages them from buying, but more importantly, from getting started. Any thoughts on that? I understand that you want to give options to your existing customers, and perhaps cost is a factor, but do you feel that perhaps you are alientating potential new customers with this new approach?
Couldn’t this easily be fixed with a “bundle” option, similar to the current offer on Amazon? Just a thought….
I agree completely. I was too late on the bandwagon and am so terribly upset that I missed out on the opportunity to get a kit. The new options won’t include everything that the kit did, Even getting it separately, you won’t be able to get EVERYTHING that you offered before. And it really was such a good deal (in my opinion).
I was wondering, given your upcoming release in Europe, whether the new designs, such as the school kit, would be available in the UK? I’d just really like to get one, they sound really exciting.
Hi Katie,
First the simple answer to your question is YES!
I am handling the Project Life products in the UK for Becky Higgins LLC. I did a blog post about the new products and directly address this concern in that post. You can read it here:
http://www.scrapbookersinnercircle.com/magazine/read/project-life-update_461.html
Please let me know if you have any other questions about the UK/Europe Launch. I am happy to help!
Tammy Morales
Thank you Katie for inquiring and thank you Tammy for chiming in. : )
Great, thanks both of you: Tammy for replying and bringing Project Life to the UK, and Becky for creating such wonderful products that are so easy to use. In a way I’m glad that the Project Lifes have sold out – not because it means that they’re unavailable but because it shows that you guys are getting the appreciation you deserve for these brilliant ideas. I can’t wait for them to come to Europe! Best of Luck for the future xxx
Can’t wait to see the new designs and products! This is my third year of PL (fourth actually as I am putting 2008 togehter now as well) and I was wondering if you will be bringing back the designs from the past two years? I really loved them and would love to buy additional binders and some other stuff to go with them.
Right now we’re working on the reprint of Amber and Turquoise designs. Not as full kits, but you’ll be able to get all the components if you’d like. No plans to reprint the Original design from 2010. Working on the new 2012 designs.
I am new to your products, but was so excited to order and then so bummed that the kits were not available. We are expecting our third baby, our first girl, and very quickly realizing how fast the time goes. This seems like a great way to document her first year and hope that the new products will be ready before she arrives in August.
Rachel, I really do believe what we’re coming out with this Summer and Fall will be very helpful to you in your quest to document your little girl’s first year … and all of your family memories too. ; )
You’re killing us Becky! I can hardly wait for the sneak peeks and release dates!
I LOVE your job too…:)
Hi Becky!
Any chance on the new binders you have thought of putting pocket inserts on the spine? (love how all your colored binders are labeled with the year)
Thank you so much for your Blog and Project Life!!!!
Too early to share specifics about our binder plans but believe me — I’m all about the spine labels. Trying for that, yes.
SOOOOO excited! Can’t wait!
I would love if you offered your bookmarks with different years or numbers to reference grades my kids or in. I would like to do a school book for them with Kindergarten – ? and the bookmarks represent the different grades. Thanks!
Oh, you will LOVE the versatility of our new Scrapbook Dividers! Perfect use for school, childhood, family stuff, non-family stuff … anything stuff!
What exactly are scrapbook dividers?
One of my fav components—in the past at least, they’ve been a 12×3 transparency 3-hole punched, with a tab (so maybe 13″?) that has the month’s name on the top, a way to quickly flip to June or whatever month you want. I’ve wanted something exactly like that for our other albums to have family names or holidays. So excited they will be available separately!
So, are you going to improve the page protectors as part of your goals?
Also, it would be nice to see Becky’s PL album (the hands-on) version. Afterall, she’s the creator of the kit.
I find lots of PL album inspiration on Ali Edwards blog. I wish I could say the same for Becky.
Improving the Photo Pocket Pages? Absolutely.
As for seeing my personal Project Life album … that’s a really fantastic question Damiane. Ali is remarkable in her sharing of their family’s PL album and I am so grateful for all the inspiration that she has shared on her blog … and for EVERYone who has shared their layouts. There is FANTASTIC inspiration out there.
I have chosen to be very limited with how much of our personal life I share. I truly love every single POTD in our family’s book. I WANT to share every single picture. I am caught up in our 2011 family yearbook.
But.
I choose to keep those pictures and memories private. Just for our family. On occasion, I’ll share a picture with my readers, but you won’t see that on a daily or even weekly basis.
I created Project Life for everyone. But I DO Project Life for my family.
Right on Sister! Ali Edwards is great, but she is not marketing PL, right?! You share a ton with us about your personal life already no need for everyone to know everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK….I WAS JUST TELLING SOMEONE THE OTHER DAY HOW MUCH I LOVE PL BECAUSE IT HAS REVOLUNTIONIZED MY LIFE AND…HOW I LOVE THE BLOG BECAUSE YOU ARE SUPER POSITIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LET’S KEEP IT ALL POSITIVE, SHALL WE LADIES!
Right on, Becky – you already share so much with us! Your family life is private, and as such is yours to share (or not share) as you please.
I appreciate Damiane’s question – however I suspect that you got a dud kit, Damiane.
I was impressed with the quality of the page protectors, and my album is great quality. It has stood up well to the continual handling by my (not so gentle) 2 and 4 year old. And everyone I show it to says the same thing. “Where can I get one of them from!”.
Keep on doing what you’re doing Becky, I look forward to seeing what the new designs are!
Becky, thank you for all the wonderful things you do for all of us preserving our memories. I feel so lucky to have stumbled across project life. It has lightened my load of feeling like I have to tradtionally scrapbook everything.
I am very excited for the new products … I’ll be saving my pennies until then!!!
Please please PLEASE don’t take away our Big White Box <3
OMG I’m seriously GIDDY!! Awesome! Can’t wait!!
Love your replies!Sometimes,we get so caught up in another person’s life ,and we think we really are a part of it!Kudos to you for keeping things private.I appreciate what you do share, and enjoy doing my own family’s PL. Keep the great ideas and creations coming Becky! You won’t get any complaints from me!I am inspired!
Can’t wait to see the next phase! I think I am so drawn to the PL because it DOES keep me in-check with what is important. I love that you are so authentic, Becky… I know so many of us appreciate that and all that you do!
I’m so glad there will be more components ready in the Summer/Fall! I’m taking my daughter to Europe and think a PL Album will be the perfect way to capture and relive our memories.
Ooooh my baby is coming in August too and I can’t wait to see what you guys are doing!
Hi Becky! A friend told me that she has a kit that you designed that is for school memories. Kind of like a Project Life kit but for school. I cannot find that product listed. Has it been discontinued? Will you be making something like it again? I would love it you did
Those goodies are coming late Summer Lori.
My friend said she has a school Project Life kit already. That is why I was wondering if you used to make these and are designing a new one for release this summer. The way she described it she has had it for a while. We both are very interested in the new PL that will be released this summer as well.
Lori – she may have the Becky Higgins School Years Kit that was released a few years ago by Creating Keepsakes. If I am not mistaken, it was sold as the “kit of the month”. Unfortunately, it is no longer available. So, we are all waiting on the wonderful new version Becky is designing
. I can’t wait to see where her creativity takes this one….
Thank you thank you thank you!!!:)
This is my 2nd year of PL and all I can say is thank you
I am a “crafter” that starts projects out and doesn’t quite finish
I collect tons of memorabilia (napkins, parking stubs, stickers i find, etc) and they now have a pretty little pocket to stay in. PL combines all my little “crafts” into a nicely organized album. My daughter is now 3.5 and about to start school so I just can’t wait for your school/childhood products to come out!
I missed out on 2011 kits and I’m glad to hear that I still have a chance to get some of the items I wanted!
Thanks again!:)
Hi Becky, LOVE YOUR WORK!!!…When is the new stuff coming in Aussie time, what month is late summer.Cant wait!!! for new project life and school album. My kids are 8 & 11 and I knew I was waiting to do school albums for a reason.Keep it coming.I tell all my friends.Carolyn Australia
I love my PL kit and have never had a problem with the page protectors (though I would like openings on both sides of the bottom). I would LOVE a sneak peek at the school components as my kids are about to bring home TONS of memorabilia and go through their school year photos. I will try to be patient:) I have your old School Kit for my oldest and we all love it—I keep those big pockets with the school year tabs in our kitchen as a catch-all for each of my sons. I’ve always wished I had bought 3 kits instead of one, but I know the new line will have made the wait worth it.
I would like to second the notion that I’d be willing to pay more for a product made in the USA. Maybe down the road??
My BFF introduced PL to me at the beginning of this year. For the first time in 10 years my memories for the year thus far are printed and documented in a book and not just on my portable hard drive (or the back up portable hard drive in case something happens to the first).
There is nothing warm and cozy about cuddling up around the laptop in order to show your kid their baby pics so I am stoked that you are coming up with a childhood version!! I always feel guilty whenever I see that freakin hard drive. I’m looking forward to being released from the guilt. Also very excited about the school version. My little mama is starting Kindergarten in the fall so I appreciate your perfect timing! Anxious to see what’s coming!!
