Thanks so much for sharing. I could look at these all day. I love Amish country… I was born there!
I also feel like I’m playing Where’s Waldo, looking for your logo in each pic. LOL.
Ha! I was just about to post that I play the game “Where did she put the logo this time?” but I see someone beat me to it.
That’s funny that everyone is saying they play “where’s the logo” game! I play that every time Becky posts photos too. : )
Lovely pictures. I am completely infatuated with the Amish way of life.
I also thought about the “Where’s Waldo” reference in regards to your logo.
The 3rd picture looks like Larger Marshmellows….mmmmmmmmmm!
Lovely pictures… but why do you put the logo into them?
My 2 1/2 year old was looking at these with me. When we got to the picture of your son (?) on the fence – he said, who’s that boy? He’s small like me and I have that shirt!
I love kids commentary. beautiful pics.
Hi Becky! I live next door to Lancaster, right on the county line, literally, in Lebanon County. Pennsylvania is beautiful and a great place to raise kids! Loved your last post about DC. I have a 16 year old son and we’ve taken him there twice. We usually add the National Aquarium in Baltimore to the trip. I’d like to recommend Gettysburg and Philadelphia to you as two other great places to take children to learn about Amercian history. Another reason why we think we live in such a grat place, all of these places and NYC are just a couple of hours drive away!
Oh my, I forgot to mention the town I grew up in: Hershey, Chocolate Town, U.S.A. ! There’s the Amusement Park, Chocolate World, Hotel Hershey and its spa, The Outlets at Hershey( Times To Remember, a great scrapbooking store is there) and where my parents, Bill & Eloise O’Brien still live!
i too am from this area! grew up in lancaster county and now live in harrisburg right outside of Hershey (and the scrapbooking store Kathy M is talking about)
glad you enjoyed the trip, be glad it was last week as our weather is HOT HOT HOT this week. reaching almost 100 today.
wow i love the amish…and that picture of your son on the fence…priceless everything…colors are amazing!!
I especially loved the last two pics of this post. Cool idea!
i just love all of that greeneries!!!! i seriously think i was made for the “country” but not quite all that farm-stuff lol i mean i could learn but seriously i. love. nature and land and grass and actually getting to see the clear blue skies… thanks for sharing these pics!
Beautiful place to visit.. to see how they live their life difference from ours.
Thank for sharing..
I was there this past weekend !! We were at Dutch Wonderland most of the time. You took the pics I was DYING to take…but couldn’t break away from my daughter’s need to go on the rides….maybe next trip! Did you eat at Miller’s or Texas Roadhouse?? Texas Roadhouse had the most AMAZING burger I’ve ever tasted.
Well, darn. You were right down the street from me. I hope you and your family had a wonderful time. There are some amazing places to take photos here.
I love Bird in Hand- my friend and I do an annual road trip there each summer. Glad you got to enjoy it as much as we do
The photos are lovely!
Gorgeous photos! Did you do these on your dSLR or your iPhone? I loved looking for your logo on each one too!
Beautiful. Looks like home:)
This is so funny as my parents just got back to Australia today and they were in Amish Country and Washington DC last week too. I know Mum has many photos similar to yours. she would have jumped at the chance to catch up with THE BECKY HIGGINS. She is an avid scrapbooker and has her own at home business. She even got to do a Convention while over there and got a tour thru Scrapbook.com warehouse.
Hi Becky, just a little question from a Dutch girl: What is “Pennsylvania Dutch Country”? And in one of the comments (by Linnea Ransier) I read “Dutch Wonderland”. I am so curious!
not Becky, but it is a kid’s amusement park on the main road through the county – very near all of the outlets
Hi Becky,
Hope you enjoyed your time in Lancaster. You are not far from me either! We live I Hershey (the land of chocolate)! As one other reader mentioned, there is a great scrapbooking store at the outlets, but they also own a bigger store at the outlets in Hershey! The name is Times to Remember. Enjoy Pennsylvania!!!

Hi Becky,
Hope you enjoyed your trip to PA, your pictures are beautiful!! I live in the next to Lancaster County, in Lebanon county, love living in the area. !!
Any chance we could beg your mom to share her recipe for Whoopie Pies? I know she makes some AMAZING treats, and I’ve always wanted to try making these.
