Love the big lunch drawer. I make lunch the night before except for the sandwich. I have tried to do away with plastic bags and use containers and wax paper.
I make lunch for my husband and myself as well so I we were just using too many bags.
I am looking for a good bento box that wont mix the yogurt with the sandwich!

Love your blog and the new binders look yummy!

Great tips. Your school lunch drawer made me think about making lunch with 100% re-useable items. I was surprised how quickly my young kids learned to bring everything home (even their trash - LOL!) and it taught them to be kind to the earth as well as thrifty. I would send Ikea plastic spoons or Zoo Pal spoons with them so if they did get lost, it was not a big expense, yet they were hearty enough to reuse when they did come home (almost always). We also did away with plastic bags and switched to reuseable containers even for sandwiches, fruit & chips - everything. I never went as far as using linen napkins, but I suppose you could try that too.

LOVE the pre-packaged items for lunches! My husband and I do that now that there's a baby. Mornings easily get hectic and packing chips in a plastic baggie is just one too many steps for me. I even package leftovers in single-serving dishes so I can just throw them in my lunch to take to work. The planning ahead like that makes life SO much easier! Happy School Year!

Love your tips. One tip I have for school lunches, is to make them the night before! I stick the entire lunch box in the fridge already packed, and then all I have to do is pull them out in the morning, add the ice pack and water bottle and we are good to go. It has saved me so much time and stress in the mornings by doing it this way.

Question: how do you keep the kids from packing every single item for their lunches?
