Fall products Q+A

Wow — the enthusiasm. Yay, you guys! We are stoked that you are stoked about what’s coming this Fall. Thank you for your comments on the last post. There were also a few excellent questions so I’m happy to address those.

But first – I think Kristina in Brisbane, Australia wins the award for cutest comment. She wrote, “Thank you Becky. It’s pretty emotional for me about the possibility of capturing amazing memories for my children and future generations without it being daunting, too hard, too fumbly, etc. If I was a bubble, I’d burst.”

……….

{ your questions }

……….

Q: It feels like Project Life just got a whole lot more complicated with all the choices! But I’m anxious to see the new designs.

A: Okay, so that wasn’t a question but it’s a legitimate thought that I’m sure a few of you have had, even though we know most of our customers are pleased with the change. I’m happy to explain what led to the change. We used to offer full kits. Everything-in-a-box. Simple, right? Well … not so much. Most everything was A-OK but manufacturing defects are inevitable, period. So in a huge box with lots of contents, if any one piece was wrong, there was a lot of time/work/stress/money spent on replacing little pieces here + there. Now, if there are any problems at all, it’s a simple return/exchange with Amazon (U.S. customers) or with your international distributor, for those of you outside the U.S.

Another reason for breaking apart the kit: We love making scrapbooking affordable. Even though the price for one kit was incredible (and, quite frankly, far less money than you’d ever spend on that much stuff anywhere else), it’s still money. And money can be tight, especially these days. The way we’re moving forward with our products now, folks are able to get only what they feel like they need to get the job done, and skip the fun extras if it’s not the right time to be spending extra money.

Bottom line: There are several reasons why we decided to do this, and what you need to know is that David and I have put a lot of time, thought, and money into this business. We don’t make decisions lightly. Please trust that we are very thoughtful and very intentional about our choices with what and when and how we do things so that you – our customers – have a good experience, while also maintaining that our family life is our #1 priority.

…..

Q: So are you saying we will have to purchase the page protectors separately? If they are not included in the price of the kit, then will the kit price go down?

A: Yes, that’s what I’m saying. The Core Kit will absolutely cost way less than our full kits have cost in the past. This is one of the advantages of breaking the kit apart. Let’s say you only want the Core Kit and the Big Pack of 60 Photo Pocket Pages, and not necessarily the Scrapbook Dividers, 12×12 Cardstock, or the coordinating binder. No problem! Just get what you want and not what you don’t.

…..

Q: Has the quality improved with the binders since the last ones?

A: This is a very resounding YES. I will be share more details on this very soon, but trust me on this one. I’m confident that you’re going to be very pleased with our new binders, which includes the reprint of the Turquoise and Amber binders, as well as the new 2012 Project Life styles and our signature “neutral” binders. Information and images on all the binders will come soon, along with the 2012 Project Life product reveals. Remember: All of these items are roughly a month behind the October releases that we’re talking about right now.

…..

Q: Why buy your page protectors when other companies make the same thing? What is different about yours?

A: First of all, we have had production delays for a reason: We are more picky than ever. Quality control. The search for perfection. You name it, we have been working very hard to make these staples as close to perfect as possible, so that you are happier than happy with our products. So if quality is a big deal to you, that would be a reason.

Secondly, the way we’ve set up our business for U.S. customers is that we sell directly to you by way of Amazon. This is how we’re able to keep our prices down. So if affordable is a big deal to you, that would be a reason.

Thirdly, a few of the basic designs are obviously “what’s out there” already. We know that (refer to the first two points in this response). But we added them to the line-up for a simple reason — it’s nice to have the same quality and affordability across the board. So if consistency and convenience are a big deal to you, that would be a reason.

Most of our designs, however, are unique to our brand and are very much inline with our philosophy of taking the guesswork out of scrapbooking for those who want to simplify the process. Our pockets are 4×6 for the standard photos and 3×4 for the Journaling Cards (and “half-size” photos and memorabilia and whatever else you use the 3×4 pockets for). This is key in helping us to be better about journaling little notes, stories, and anecdotes to go along with our pictures.

…..

Q: Are the Core Kits that will be available in October for 2011? Or can they be used for any year? I am assuming that when the 2012 kits become available, I would use the core kit that applies for 2012. I am new to Project Life, but I’m SO excited.

A: Simply put, all of our Core Kits have been, and will continue to be, completely applicable to any year and any approach. The designs are not date-specific. You could pick up any kit and get your whole childhood in an album. Or you could use the kit to document a picture-every-day in a calendar year. Or you could go back and get the 90′s into a couple scrapbooks with our products. The whole idea is that you make the products work for your needs. You don’t have to conform to any format. I’m so excited you’re giving it a try!

…..

Q: Do you ever plan on creating Project Life in 8.5×11? I switched over from 12×12′s years ago because the size is SO much easier for my kids, parents, grandparents etc. to handle.

A: Yes, we have totally considered this. The reason why the 8.5 x 11 format doesn’t work for this system is because, in order to simplify the process for you, that includes leaving all the 4×6 prints just as they are, as opposed to requiring you to crop everything down. It just doesn’t work quite as well. If the 12×12 albums are larger than you’d like (I’m in that camp these days too, so I totally relate) … the Digital Project Life is what you want to look into.

…..

Q:  I know you can’t see into the future, but am wondering if you can comment on if these products will be available over the coming years in similar formats. Should I stock up on school kits for my young children now, or will I be able to purchase these products in 2 and 4 years from now? Again, I know you can’t see into the future, but what’s your best guess?

A: You’re a planner. I get it. I’m a planner too! And while I don’t have that crystal ball we’d all like to have sometimes, this is what I can tell you: Project Life works. Project Life solves problems. We’re setting things up in such an organized and intentional and methodical and user-friendly and solution-based manner, that it’s a no-brainer to keep a good thing going … for as long as you guys think it’s a good thing. We plan on all the BASICS being available year-round and bringing out NEW DESIGNS at least once a year.

…..

Q: I haven’t seen you mention anything about Digital Project Life. Will there be new designs for that? If so, any timeline of when it will be out?

A: Yes, Digital Project Life lives on, and the new 2012 designs will come by the end of this year. We just have a stronger emphasis on the physical product right now because that’s where the interest is for most of our customers, and because purchasing actual, physical product usually involves more planning of sorts. Particularly for our international customers, as they are able to place pre-orders in advance.

…..

Q: It would be awesome to have a punch the size of the 3×4 Journaling Cards. My (project) life would be complete if I had a punch I could use to quickly size things perfectly and pop them into the page!

A: It sounds like you’re not alone in your thinking. And I have to tell you, a lot of what we’re bringing is due to the suggestions and requests you’ve thrown our way. We really, truly listen and I hope that’s obvious to our customers by now. So … about the punch … we’ll look into the possibility. How’s that?  : )

…..

Q: Are you going to be creating a school kit?

A: Okay, so I know most of you know this already, but for those of you who missed the memo, I repeat – School- and childhood-specific products are planned to show up early 2012. It’s simply not possible to do everything at once. Trust me – you wouldn’t want me to try that. I’d go completely mental and broke, all at once.  : )

In the meantime, I would definitely plan on picking up a few staples that are coming out this Fall. For example, this stuff:

You’ll be able to get a great head-start with at least organizing your pictures. When the school/childhood stuff comes out, that will help you pull it all together beautifully. More on this in the coming weeks. We’ll discuss this in depth.

…..

I hope this has cleared some things up for those of you with questions. Most of you know I’m very accessible to my readers/customers. I do my best to answer your questions. Please remember that while Project Life is growing and spreading like wildfire (thanks to you guys, for sharing it with your friends!) … we are still a small business, and not even quite two years into this adventure.

Family is most important. Service and community involvement and friends and even sleep are important too. We also care a lot about making sure Becky Higgins LLC provides the very best for you. Trust me when I say, we are happy to continue working hard to do our best. And, as always, we appreciate your enthusiasm and loyalty so very much.

    Becky,
I would just like to send you a personal thank you for your absolutely revolutionary products. Last year was my first year for Project Life and I fell in love with the simplistic but high impact style of your products. I am continuing Project Life this year but have also manage to complete a month at a glance albums for both 2008 and 2009 with a separate kit. I absolutely love the flexibility of your product and how easy it is to get “caught up” since we always feel so behind with our scrapbooking. I really appreciate what you have done to improve memory keeping and make it something achievable as well as beautiful. I have already turned several of my friends on to Project Life and hope to form my own little community of memory keeping friends through the use of this simple kit. Thank you so much for all you do, your constant updates, and your many sleepless nights. I just want to let you know that all of your hard work is so throughly appreciated by the amazing community that has grown through the use of Project Life. The only downside to your product is that it wasn’t available years ago! Thank you so very much.

  2. stacey K says:

I just happily placed my pre order with the Australian stockist. I am really looking forward to using your products. I did my own DIY album because the kits had sold out. It is a lot more work & I am behind, but do love what I have done & I tried to keep it as simple as i could. Next year will be so much easier!

  3. Angy says:

This is simply the BEST way out there! A wonderfully simple, no guilt way to scrapbook. If I have time (or the desire) to be fussy and floofy about it ~ I CAN. If I don’t have the time or desire – it still works beautifully! I have turned many people on to your product and we are ALL eagerly awaiting the 2012 release! Bravo and thank you very much!

  4. Marie says:

A bonus of being a night owl is I get to view these posts a bit earlier than most!! :)

I also want to say “thank you” from my family. After the birth of our 4th child, I wondered if I’d ever be able to “keep up” (such a bad term!) with scrapbooking again.

Your bright ideas and clever products are helping so many families tell their stories–and that is something that doesn’t just benefit me and my children–but my future grandchildren and great-grandchildren, etc.

I often think of how necessary it is for us to use our gifts to help others–you’ve managed to marry work and your talents in a way that will benefit so many! Thank you.

I am new to Project Life, in fact haven’t even started. I’m looking for a PL mentor. Anyone in the Seattle area who would like to teach me how to do it? I’m a hands on learner and feel that it would help me to actually see an album or 2 in person and see the kits, etc. It doesn’t seem to hard of a concept to get but for some reason I’m totally overwhelmed by just jumping in.

    • Kaitlin says:

Alicia – I am in the Portland area, NW yes, but I know too far away to be a PL mentor. I found this website to be a great inspiration. http://www.bigpictureclasses.com/projectlife.php
Maybe a digital mentor in a way? You just join the “class community” for free and you get access to tons of peoples albums, ideas, and layouts. It really is great to look at see what other people are doing. I have been using PL for two years now for our family and I love the concept of just getting pictures and things of our life and getting them in an album. My daughter enjoys looking at them weekly. I am going to do a baby album using Project Life and when my sister gets married – she is getting one to document first year of marriage! Good luck in your creative endeavours!

    • Christine says:

I also recommend looking at aliedwards.com and look for her approach on Project Life. She updates her album weekly with photos and commentary. She is so creative.

  6. Maria says:

Oh Becky, with a 3X4 punch with rounded corners) my dreams really would come true!

    • Regi says:

      MAJOR Ditto!!!

      • Mickey says:

OHHHHH!!! That would be pure heaven! I sit for hours each week at my kids’ practices and the punch would be so helpful…I could use it without having a table and get PL done instead of sitting doing nothing!!!

    • Tamikko Gordin says:

I too, would love love to second that!!! Or was that 5th it? If you ask I’m sure everyone will want one :)

    • Tina says:

      Yep! i agree, too!

      • LynneB says:

I totally agree about the punch – I never would have thought of a punch that size on my own, but now that someone else thought it up I think it would be the PERFECT addition to project life. I’m looking forward to seeing what the new designs will look like! Thanks Becky!

    • Sandy says:

Totally agree! It never occurred to me how handy it would be to have a punch that size but as soon as I heard the suggestion I thought WHAT A GREAT IDEA (and why didn’t I think of it myself?). Something I would buy for sure.

  7. Michaela says:

Thank you for PL. I really do enjoy it a lot. I am really looking forward to the new stuff in fall!!
    Greeting from Munich, Germany
    Michaela

  8. Lise Harris says:

I’ve already placed my pre-order with the Australian stockist, I’m so excited to be able to add those “plain” big envelopes to my kids’ albums – I had already used up all the “printed” ones from your baby and school kits, and the dividers will be so handy to easily find the year I’m after in their albums. I love your products to much Becky, they have really changed how people like me scrapbook – I’m an ultra-perfectionist, and I used to agonise over every single layout done the “traditional” way with pretty papers, adhesive and embellishments etc – which meant that I was so far behind it wasn’t funny. This year I’ve gotten caught up on both my kids’ school albums, and I’m about to start tackling their baby albums (my kids are 7 and 5, I’ve been so embarrassed they still don’t have baby albums done, but that is about to change.) Thank you Becky!

  9. Ilona says:

    Hi Becky!
The new products are so awesome! I hope I will be able to order your products via amazon.uk soon, because I’m from Germany.
Especially I love the new page protectors and I’m with you, F is really great. I miss page protectors with those small 3×4 size for journaling and little photos.
It would be great to read a short note (maybe on facebook) when your products are available in UK ;-)
Thanks a lot Becky and have a great day!

  10. Kate says:

    Hi Becky
Thank you for all your hard work and great products.
I am excited! But I’m also worried!
I bought your old Sweet Baby Kits and LOVE that everything was there for me. I want to do a school album for my son … But as he’s only 1 it’s a long way off so I have NO IDEA what I will need. That’s why I just want to buy a complete school kit. Nice and easy. I don’t need to work out what to get … Because I have no idea!
I’ve convinced oodles of people to get the school kit when its released but they’re not the kind of people who’d be able to put a kit together … They just want to buy a kit and were ‘sold’ by checking out the Sweet Baby Kit I bought.
I know you have lots of reasons to NOT do this system for Project Life but I am begging you … Could you please make some complete school kits, pretty please?
    Thanks very much, Becky!
    Kate

    • Mickey says:

The kit option would be nice – don’t have to think about it when you order – I pieced stuff together as I am new to PL and the kits were long gone – but, I was looking forward to getting a “kit” this year to see better how it all works without having to do “re-create” it myself.

      • Gypsy says:

As I read these comments, some thoughts occurred to me. (Pretty amazing these days!)

Becky’s reasons for selling piece-parts instead of a pre-packaged kit are very rational and beneficial from a business and (most) customers’ POV. (Some) customers’ desire to buy one pre-packaged kit is understandable, yet the benefits of buying separates are lost.

        So Becky… the thoughts
Have you considered selling separates as planned AND differently defined kits?

The kits would not be pre-packaged in one cute shrink-wrapped box as in the past. A kit order would bundle the binder, cards, page protectors, etc items into one super item number with one price for the lot.

A kit’s contents would be pre-defined, no substitutions allowed, possibly with discounted pricing (as little as 5% – 10%; cost isn’t the priority factor for those wishing to purchase a complete kit). A kit’s selection of items would equate to the previous complete kits’ contents.

Either the bundling of one kit with contents that match the past kits’ contents exactly or a variety of kits is possible. The bundle deal variation could be limited to the page protectors’ style selection.

Bundling allows Becky Higgins LLC to sell a kits’ worth of items as “one item” to those who want everything right there, ready to go. Packaging and pricing each element separately provides the flexibility for those who prefer to mix n match designs or sizes or who don’t wish to purchase a binder, for example.

If bundling into one product number is too difficult to implement, a viable option might be to place a handy-dandy checklist, identifying each component found in past kits, on the retail wbsite.

        just some thoughts!

  11. Anne T. says:

    Becky,

Thanks for all the extra info on the new product releases. Very excited for when all this stuff is coming out. And I have a few friends in mind that I plan to convert to Project Lifers. With multiple small children and very little time and energy to scrapbook, I know they’ll be on the bandwagon in no time. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication to this. It shows in your products and I love this system.

    - Anne

  12. Betsy says:

Thank you for taking the time to answer questions and keep us updated. Your customer service ROCKS! I can’t wait to see the new designs! Sooooo excited we are getting closer to more products being available. Every time I share how Project Life works with someone new, they are ready to order! Several friends are chomping at the bit to get started! :)

  13. Kim says:

Thanks for taking the time to clarify so many questions. I absolutely love the idea of a punch the size of the journaling cards. This is my first year doing Project Life and I’m totally hooked. I’ve been able to convince several friends and co-workers into doing PL and we are all really enjoying this system of documenting for family.
    Thank you so much.
    Kim

  14. Ellie A. says:

For me Project Life has made me more present in the moment. To think that I can go back and have an afternoon of actually story telling w/my kids because while I have been printing or cutting one of my kids will come and ask can I see our album and be able to stop and turn to a page and relive those moments means more then I could ever say. I have been able to record all the amazing things that have happened this year so far but also ones that are dear to my heart such as my grandfather’s passing and Angel Anniversary of our Little girl who would have turned 5 to other moments that I know I would never have really captured as I have had I not be doing Project Life. Thank you so much for putting this together & making it so easy and fun. You don’t even have to break a sweat putting memories together just being able to either be quick about what you are doing for a day you are recording or add more details. What matters is that your day has been placed somewhere you can go back and say WOW so that’s what I did that day. Thank you for helping my give my kids a place to store memories that they will go over and over to again and remember their childhood. ((HUGS))

  15. ShellyJ says:

THank you so much for all your hard work and all of your updates! It is such a joy to see someone so truly passionate about their products :) AND I am so excited about the possibility of a 3×4 punch or die cut even… wonderful news!

  16. Barb says:

Hi Becky, I love all the new page protector designs – especially the 6×4 portrait ones with 4 photos and 4 journalling spots. I do a lot of portrait photos & found last year’s designs a bit difficult to work with, so I am planning on stocking up on these.

Will the binders be bigger in the next release? I noticed the binder from the last release is a lot smaller (thinner) than the first one, and I think I’m going to have trouble fitting everything in this year. It’s already packed to capacity and there are still 5 months to go. I don’t want to have to buy another binder, but I don’t know quite what else to do.???

Other than that I am just loving Project Life and how it’s simplifying my scrapbooking. When I think how long it takes me to do a page of normal scrapbooking, compared to a couple of nights per month with the PL album, it is fantastic.

I can’t wait to see the new designs as well. I love the turquoise kit from this year and can’t decide whether to order it again or wait to see the new designs.

Thank you so much for such a wonderful product.

  17. Deborah says:

    LOVE the punch idea!!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. melaina says:

A sincere “thank you” for not only designing this way to scrap, but for taking the time to listen and reply to our comments. So excited for the upcoming products!

  19. Shari says:

    Becky,

You are a genius. Thank you for your innovation and for PL. It has made me life feel ‘complete’ because the guilt and stress are no longer out there nagging at me.

Again, keep up the great work, we love you!

  20. Stacy W. says:

Becky, I have to say I am very excited for October! Not only is it Halloween (my favorite holiday to craft for and scrapbook) but also for your release of product. I came across project life after all the kits were sold out (bummed about that). Then I sat on the fence about ordering the page protectors and journaling cards. When I finally decided i would try them I realized I waited to long and the journaling cards were sold out. Saying that, I would love to see a punch made like suggested above. How fun to have journaling cards in kfraft colored card stock, a chiunk of a map from a road trip or Halloween paper ;) I love what you are doing for the scrapbooking world! Thank you so much for helping us all being able to still document our lives and the lives of others while still keeping family first. I will say that I did my first scrapbook in June only using the page protectors that held 4×6 photos. My sister and her family live almost two hours away and had their first child a year ago in June. If it wasn’t for cell phones with text messages, photos and videos we would not have been able to watch baby B grow as much as we did over that first year. About the 7th month into my sister’s pregnancy I decided to save all her texts that related to the pregnancy. These were all written out on 4×6 pieces of card stock. Then when they started sending pictures and texts of baby B growing up I continued to save those. I ended up printing out about 150 pictures and I believe close to 200 texts. All of this went into the scrapbook for him on his first birthday. I was still able to stamp and color in images that related to a photo and use scrapbook paper and other materials I love to use when scrapbooking, just in a faster and more organized way. My sister cried when I gave it to her and my brother-in-law was surprised and very thankful. They said it was awesome, not just because it was a scrapbook B would have for the rest of his life, not just because there were texts from the pregnancy and his first year of life that they had forgotten about, not because they know it’s a gift that had a lot of time and love go in to it, but the fact that they have tons of pictures of him but they are sitting on the computer in a file or on the memory card in their camera, not printed out for anyone to enjoy. I know we all have photos sitting somewhere that we want to get scrapbooked like this and I know that I would not have been able to get that amount of photos and journaling done if it wasn’t for the products you and others are making to simplify scrapbooking. Sorry for the long post but I just wanted to share that with you and say THANK YOU. I look forward to giving you my money in October, especially for that new 60 pack of page protectors ;)

  21. Joanne says:

    Hi, Becky!

I am beyond excited to see all the upcoming products and designs for Project Life! I am a longtime memory keeper and have been following your sketches, books, and articles in CK for years so I feel I “know” you — this gives me absolute trust in your integrity. I “know” that you will only put your name on what you believe is the absolute best quality and will be a solid solution to getting projects completed. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your vision and hard work in keeping us motivated and excited about preserving our most valuable treasues — the memories and history of our families. Bless you!

  22. Carol says:

First your products are awesome! Not only I am doing Project Life but I have also put together scrapbooks of the toddler years for two of my boys. In just a few hours I printed 4 years worth of pictures, stuck them in your page protectors and put them into the cute Spiderman and Thomas albums that I had purchased but never had the time to scrapbook. I have been slowly filling in the blank spot with embellishments from my stash but the boys get to enjoy their photos now. It is magical to see the joy on their faces and hear them retelling stories when they look at their books on a sometimes daily basis.
Second, you have the most amazing communication and customer service of any small business I have ever encountered!!!

  23. Silvia Diaz says:

    Hi Becky,

I’m fairly new to your site and want to thank you for all the insight and the time you take to go over everything. I’m very intrigued by your products and can’t wait to see what else it coming out.

On a side note, you write so well! Reading your blogs and answers to peoples questions is a pleasure! It feels like you are speaking to me right here!

Thank you for your sincerity, your hard work and being so genuine!

  24. Maria says:

Such great customer service. Thank you SO much for directly answering my question regarding products/school kit items being available for years to come.

    Can I put in a vote for a 3×4 punch too? :)

Between last week and this week, if I could hug you, I would.

    Maria Vermette

  25. Dani Sticka says:

I have fallen in love with you all over again Becky Higgins. :) Absolutely ADORE Project Life.

  26. Jacqueline R says:

I am thrilled about the new options! I love that by expanding and separating things that you are giving us more flexibility. I can’t wait to order in October and can’t wait to see the 2012 new releases. Project Life has changed scrapbooking for me. Love it!

I have seen quite a few people comment on how they wish the “kit” version was still going to be available. Does Amazon allow you to bundle items together? So, that you could pull together a “kit” with one click ordering, even those the items are packaged separately? (Binder + Page Protector Big Pack + Core Kit + Dividers + Cardstock) Or even just a link from your “Shop” page that would add the items into the cart. Just a suggestion, it makes me sad to think that people are being disuaded from Project Life by thinking the ordering will be more difficult, even though we will be getting the same kit experience in the end. It is so easy to order from your Amazon store. And Project Life is too amazing to miss out on!

    • Gypsy says:

One day I will learn to actually read all comments before commenting. I say I will; I even think about it at times. But, it never fails that I will zap out a long response, only to find the idea captured by someone else, often using less words to create a more coherent statement.

Just like this one from Jacqueline!

  27. Mindy says:

I got giddy just thinking about a punch!!

  28. Am I correct, the only page dividers available with Project Life will be the clear dividers with the stickers?
I must admit I am sad to see the beautifully decorated page dividers go if that is the case. I absolutely love how they enhance the beauty of the kits.

The punch idea is a great one!

As the 1st poster mentioned, a whole hearted “Thank You” for all of the hard work and dedication you put into providing products. I am constantly amazed by you and how you communicate and put together such wonderful customer service for your readers. I appreciate that you stive to find new ideas, incorporate the suggestions of others and all the work and pride you put in to the products.

  29. Laurel says:

Picking up on the journaling card punch idea – another idea that might work would be a die that would work in a Cuttlebug or similar machine. I would totally buy one of either though! :)

  30. Mindy says:

Can’t wait for all the new stuff. I appreciate how much you put into making everything just right. That’s why we all love you and look to you for so much inspiration.

Just wanted to add that I LOVE the idea of a 3×4 punch!

    Thanks for everything!

The punch idea is brilliant! Or perhaps a die cut compatible with most die cutting machines? Although not everyone has those and it wouldn’t be as portable for mobile project lifers. However I’d buy either or both :) excellent suggestion. Fingers crossed on it being a future item!!

Thank you Becky for creating such an amazing product. Because of you I am documenting my family’s life in a way I never thought possible. Thank you for being such a wonderful role-model. I to am in the second year of a small business venture and I often look to you as an example of how to juggle business, family, friends and faith. It is not easy and yet you seem to pull it off easily. Thank you for blogging. The road to a successful small business can sometimes be a lonely one so it is nice to know that inspiration is only a blog away. I can appreciate the work that goes into an amazing product like Project Life and your dedication to your customers is a gift and an inspiration.
    Thank you.

I love all the new product options, and I can’t wait to see the new designs, too. I was new to PL in 2011, and I absolutely adore it. I am planning to do PL albums for previous years, too, and I am looking forward to finally doing something productive with all my storage albums full of photos.

Thank you for your commitment to continually improve the product and to provide what your customers want. (And for the record, I think a 3×4 punch would be the icing on the cake!)

    Becky,

A little off subject….I tried your chili/coleslaw hot dog recipe a few weeks ago at a party we had. I had a hot dog ‘bar’ with all sorts of toppings and suggestions. Chili/cole slaw was one of them. My personal fav of the night found in BH&G, avocado, diced tomato, (hold the) onion and crushed chips (we used baked Lays).

Also looved the Red Velvet cake recipe. I had not heard of red velvet cake until I was an adult and it was only my 3rd red velvet cake but it was soooo good!

Thanks for the recipes and your PL projects are wonderful!

You rock, Becky! I don’t know how you do it all, but I’m thankful to have an example of someone who finds ways to bless others and keep balance in her life and then SHARES those ideas.

    Thank you!

    P. S. A 3 x 4 punch sounds wonderful.

What a fabulous idea a punch is, we could easily cut our photos and anything else our hearts desire to the right size!! No more jagged edges!! I’ve gotta have one!!

I just discovered PL and just got my binder, jounaling cards and some of the page protectors. Glad to see the new shapes coming out and can’t wait to get more!!

Love the idea of PL, thanks Becky for a fantastic way to preserve our memories!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the idea of a punch for the smaller slots. That’s one of the things that takes me awhile is trimming papers and photos to fit in those slots. VERY excited about the new products, can’t wait to see the new designs. It’s such an awesome thing to be able to flip through my scrapbooks and have pictures printed, and in albums, in a timely manner! Normally it would take me a good 6-8 months or more to get my pages done. Project Life ROCKS! :)

  38. Liz H says:

Becky, you are amazing! I’m on my 3rd year, and still loving it. The variety is so exciting. THANK YOU!

  39. pamela says:

Please, please, pretty please with a cherry on top (always used to add the cherry bit as a kid when I REALLY wanted something) make a punch!!!! It would make putting smaller photos and memorabilia in so much easier!!

  40. Erin says:

I know I’m just chiming in on what everyone else has said, but A 3×4 PUNCH!!!! Brilliant!!!! I’m getting excited just thinking about the possibilities!

SO excited about everything you’re doing Becky. Thank you so much. Thanks to your kits I love scrapbooking again. :)

Hi Becky – I apologize in advance for asking a question that has likely been asked before! When you talk about the 3×4 pockets and journaling cards – can you provide the exact measurements of the cards? The cards are not actually 3×4, so if you print a photo in 3×4, it will be larger than the card that is on the back of it… and yes, that bugs me! :) I created a 4×6 template with what I believe to be the right sizes to clip my photos to, but am curious as to why the cards weren’t made an “even” size…?

Loving Project Life – I have not printed this many photos since I went digital years ago! And because I am printing, I am printing copies to share with others – which makes them happy.

I just found you through Ucreate… and I love what you do!!! I was a serious scrapbooker through high school and the early yrs of my marriage and even through my 1st child’s 1st yr… but then we had #2 and then #3… now #3 is 2 yrs old and I still haven’t scrapbooked since #1 was a baby. There’s just not enough time and I feel overwhelmed by the idea of even trying to catch up.
Your kit looks amazing! I’m so excited to try them out… can I get on a list or something to know when they’re available? ;)

  43. Danielle says:

I am so excited about all these new page protectors!! I will be ordering them as soon as you make them available. Thank you so much!!!!

  44. [...] As you know, Project Life used to be offered in a full kit with the binder and Photo Pocket Pages and all the core paper components and … well, everything. But as you know, we are changing the way we offer our products – giving you more flexibility and freedom to choose only what you want. If you missed the explanation about that, be sure to check out our recent Fall Products Q+A post. [...]

  45. [...] this Fall … you know we’re no longer offering a full Project Life kit (reasons outlined here). So you probably have heard of the Project Life CORE KIT, and possibly saw the first sneak peeks [...]

  46. Monique says:

have you set a price list for these items? I am a budgeting person and I know that the minute they become available, they will fly out of the stock… any chance on a price list for things??
and I can’t wait.. this was my first and not my last with this project..

    :)
