My solution is to NEVER, NEVER let anything extra be on that flat surface. We are five adults living in a teeny tiny house and I do not have clutter on any open surfaces. The second something hits the counter, table whatever it is removed. I just put it the bedroom of the person it belongs to. Every.Single. Time. It is tedious initially but people eventually get the message. Tossing clutter works too. Or a bin out of sight that you can toss things into. When someone comes back looking for their stuff they have to go through the bin to find it. At the end of the week or month toss any left overs. If something is lost it is a good reinforcement not to leave stuff lying around. A friend used to vaccum up any Lego lying around. Her children had no idea she went back later and retrieved the `vanished' bits. They thought it was gone and were very quick to pick up next time they were asked :) Consequences are essential or no one will change their ways.

It is comforting to know that I am not the only person with blank walls!!! I have wanted to do several wall photo colleges similar to the one featured today...but alas with lots going on it is on the back burner. Like the idea of just collecting frames, photos, and putting up a pic of the idea of how it will look when completed for inspiration is a great idea too. Thanks for sharing. : ))

I love photo walls. I've been collecting ideas on pinterest for a while now. I had been thinking about it for a large wall in our family room with high ceilings. Instead, in that spot, I think I'm going to do 3 vertical rectangles made out of moulding and then paint the inside a coordinating color from the rest of the wall and then put a framed photo in each of them; keeping clean lines in an otherwise full room. I think my photo wall will end up in my staircase. Just an idea to consider :) but i do think a photo wall would be perfect too.

I have a Project Life question/problem...what is your advice to people who stopped taking pics/journaling about April...I don't have enough photos to even spill all the spaces...do I fill the emptiness with cute paper and embellishments and just move on? I am so disappointed in myself...last time I did 365 I took a picture a day and was so proud/happy when I completed. Now...it's just another incomplete project staring me in the face. so sad! Do you have any advice/suggestions to help? Thanks for your time Becky!

Megan did a beautiful job...I love:) Welllllllll tell that someone that is a awesome wall to do a wall gallery. A mix of snapshots you dearly love of your kids, and maybee some professional in the mix. With maybee a word (large) that would go with the theme. LIKE maybee "family" or "inspiration" or "love".

Another great idea is ...I have a friend (with a new baby). She had someone paint (YEP right on the wall) a large tree, and within each branch is the whole family...one side of the tree is her family and other side is her husband. They traised back as far as they knew the names of all. The wall is red, with a tree trunk in brown, and the tree actually is white. Color is ALL your option I believe. But Becky can you visualize or what...I sure can!!!

OH gotta say I LOVE pottery barn, their frames, and picture wall ideas are the best!!! I actually did a picture wall with shelves from Ikea (as I could not swing the price of Pottery Barn Ledges) using three total. That looks pretty yummy too, and if you like a more organized...cleaner look you certainly get that with the ledges. Good Luck,,, and please show when you decide:)
